I can see myself just posting up there and getting work done, reading a book, or just relaxing. Only downfall is that all the washrooms are on the fourth floor and with how the escalators are set up and small elevators, it can be a pain to get up there. There were a few escalators that were out of service when I visited as well. Overall, phenomenal shopping center that I will definitely be visiting often while here.

Beware of conversion fees for every purchase when paying by credit card. Overall, a nice low key shopping experience in Calgary.

crossiron mills is a massive one level mall just north of calgary that feels more like an indoor…read moreshopping district than a traditional mall. the layout is loosely loop like, with long continuous corridors that let you circulate through much of the space without too much backtracking, but it isn't a perfect circle, several wings and anchor areas branch off the main path. despite the scale, it's easy to get your bearings, and the space feels clean, modern, and well organized. the mall has well over 200 stores and restaurants, with a strong outlet and value shopping focus alongside entertainment, fashion, home goods, sports, and large format retail. key tenants include winners/ homesense, marshalls, uniqlo, h&m, bass pro shops, sport chek, pro hockey life, silvercity, nike, old navy outlet, lululemon, sephora, and indigo. however, it's missing the apple store and zara. it also caters to tourists and out of town visitors, with a vip visitor card offering up to 25% discounts at participating stores. guests staying at least 60 km outside calgary can obtain it for free at guest services with proof of address. this visit stood out for the growing asian presence, including uniqlo, fuwa fuwa, marugame udon, two gong cha, and alongside kbeauty that add a pleasant mix of variety. overall vibe: very large, singlelevel footprint easy to wander for hours without feeling lost broad retail mix across sports, fashion, home, and lifestyle, more outlet driven than luxury focused, generally easier to navigate than multi level mega malls. parking and traffic can get busy on weekends and holidays

Yes... you could be circling forever trying to find a spot. This is no joke. I got annoyed looking for a parking spot. I came here to try one of the food spots inside the Deerfoot City Lodge and OMG. If I add the cost of gas and the meal, it is definitely not worth it. The Deerfoot City Lodge is quite nice and open. There is a kid play area. Lots of seating and tables. They also have special events here and there. It is not a bad mall. Only issue is the parking. I guess you can bus or train here. But if you are shopping at Walmart as well then it is definitely a bad idea. Seems like there is a second section of the Lodge. Hopefully it opens soon. Looking forward to the food options.

Deerfoot City has done a great job with their "food lodge". It's open and spacious. There's a…read moreplayground to keep the kids busy, a giant fireplace, lots of seating, and the feel is nice and open. The only thing missing is the food vendors. There's currently only Opa, Chronic Tacos, a pasta place and maybe one other. Signs are up for a Poke place coming soon. The lodge just opened so I imagine it won't be long until this building is bustling with all sorts of different options.

pleasantly surprised by what's inside this mall. from the outside, it doesn't really hint at how…read moremuch is going on, especially when so many other malls can feel quiet or empty these days. once you step inside, though, it opens up into a much more active and layered space than expected. the two level layout, the overhead lanterns, and the mix of small independent shops immediately give it a different kind of energy. it feels less like a typical enclosed mall and more like a compact indoor market, with pockets of activity scattered throughout rather than revolving around a single central attraction. what stands out most is how food driven and community oriented it feels. between dessert stalls, bubble tea shops, bakeries, and traditional comfort food counters, there's a constant sense that people are coming here with a purpose, not just passing through. overall, it's the kind of place that rewards wandering. the more you explore, the more it feels like there are small discoveries tucked into every corner, making it seem much larger and more interesting than first impressions suggest. at one point, two teens were sitting on the floor, excitedly live streaming the unboxing of blind boxes, a small scene that added to the feeling that this is a place where people gather, linger, and create their own moments rather than simply shop and leave.

It's like a bunch of small business entrepreneurs which is cool. They do have a food court upstairs on the top level with a little patio area if you want to eat outside. The "anchor" store is The Best Shop which is a Chinese Walmart type store! It's awesome if you need a new rice cooker or kitchen appliance. They also have a lot of fun stuff for back to school and for kids. Check this place out! Oh and the latest edition to this mall is the most amazing indoor play place around, Sky Castle! This is like a white and pastel colored castle in the clouds. Super cute place (wish I had photos). I would definitely recommend checking out this mall and finding some cool interesting things here. By no means can it compare to the major malls of Calgary (namely Marketmall and Chinook) but this…read moresmaller mall has alot going for it. There are many key stores in this mall that are worth shopping, the Futureshop, Bestbuy combo is great to check out electronics. For videogames both stores are joined by EB games. The Home Outfitters in here is well run and has alot of usefull stuff. It also has a winners. The mall suffers from a lack of people and this has caused it to lose some stores that hurt abit. The Sony Store relocated from here to Marketmall, it lost it's HMV, and a huge crushing blow was the collapse of Debanji's, a very hgih end food store they had for a while that nowhere else in Calgary compares to today. The lack of foot traffic in Northland Village Mall is nice for a shopper, but it killed off alot fo the retailers or made them move elsewhere. Still, for a stop at Best Buy, Futureshop, or some of the others stores it is great, until the lack of foot traffic causes them to leave too. The layout of the mall is decent, wide walkways, not as much natural light as one might want as it is older style design, reasonable food court with decent selections such as A7W, Taco Time, Subway, Arby's, Kernals, ect... It is a circular mall so you can walk around the circle, end up in the same spot you started, and not have to backtrack past the same stores.
