The only positive is the owner, Mary. I was referred to CGT by a skilled nursing facility. Mary was compassionate and responsive, and if you only need a part time caregiver for some extra help, I'd recommend her company. For full time care, particularly for fragile, elderly people, I would look elsewhere. CGT is essentially a link between you and the company that provides the caregivers, Honor, which I believe is based in Illinois. CGT does intake but has no control over who Honor sends to your home, and Honor is a nightmare. Won't accept requests, sent me an unreliable caregiver who didn't show up and lied about the reason so Honor would give her another chance, left me going to bed at night with no caregiver assigned to the morning shift and hoping I would wake up to a text or email letting me know they managed to cover the shift. My advice: DO NOT USE ANY CAREGIVING COMPANY THAT USES HONOR FOR STAFFING. Interview a company like Presidio Home Care and compare the business models before you sign up with Honor. Presidio is one of the local companies that did not sell out to Honor, which seems to have bought ("partnered with") many local care companies to reduce competition. I am heartbroken at how long it took me to find Presidio and fire Honor, and the resulting impact on my loved one. Please beware. I am writing this review because I don't see a listing for Honor, so I can't write them a review, and consumers should know what kind of racket Honor is running. Caring Gentle Touch (CGT) Home Care was recommended to me by the Social Worker at my Dad's Nursing Facility. I called and spoke to the business owner, Mary. She came out to the house immediately for us to meet, and then she drove out to my Dad's Nursing Facility to meet him. She did all this within 24 hours. I was impressed and decided to hire CGT. This was in August of '22. My Dad needed 24/7 home care, and CGT provided him with a rotation of 5 really solid Caregivers. My Mother was against bringing in a caregiver, completely against having a stranger in her home and felt she did not want or need a babysitter!! My siblings and I expressed our concern about her health and most importantly her safety. My Mom is 87 years old, still pretty independent and lives in the same house for over 50 + years with stairs. Two of my siblings live there however can't always be with her 24/7. My Mom who has tough mornings getting her day started and the use of the bathroom was not easy. I met Mary from CGT and she is an angel in disguise. So friendly, compassionate, caring & very professional. She took her time with us and was very patient with my siblings. She went over the process and understood our concerns. She went out of her way to make my Mom understand the process and gained her trust. My Mom was very impressed with Mary and gave in for a trial basis to have someone come in for a week. It took a minute to finally pull the trigger and get someone in and start and we did! It was the best investment and such the perfect match! The one week trail went to 4 weeks and when we are in need CGT is our 1st phone call. The caregiver came in on time was very loving, so sweet, very clean and professional. She was gentle and patient with my Mom and after the 1st visit my Mom connected with her and couldn't wait for her to come back. At the end of the week my Mother was asking when the caregiver was coming back. The caregiver did not treat my mother like a child, she treated her with the upmost respect and kindness. She did light house keeping , had conversation with my Mother, helped her get dressed, helped her down the stairs, made her breakfast, washed her bedding that unfortunately my Mother soiled every visit. She also helped my Mother with activities such as light stretching, coffee on the front porch so she could get some fresh air and sunshine. They even planted tomatoes :) She was incredibly, she even cut and curled my Mother's hair. Of course asking our permission first. Another incredible tool they offered was the app you download on your phone. This app was very useful for my siblings and I. The caregiver would write every detail of the day from start to finish. We knew how each visit went. My Mom is happy and so are we. Again safety was our number one concern and also companionship. CGT went over and beyond.
