Despite my background in social services, I felt lost, overwhelmed, and desperately trying to find care for my mother in her declining physical and mental health. So many different companies out there claiming that they have skill, compassion, professionalism and care. Well I can tell you with confidence that your search has concluded. Within the first consultation call with Colin, one following similar such calls with over a dozen other companies, I knew Presidio was different. Colin approached my needs with patience, compassion, care and the perfect balance of getting the urgency, but not rushing through any of the important pieces. I felt that he "got it," and that what you read about two brothers who found a need not being filled and filled it is genuine and sincere. During the home visit Colin walked the entire house with me and spent as much time with me as needed, giving me excellent tips on how to get things situated even better and different devices that may make my mother more comfortable and her care less cumbersome and intrusive. He answered all of my questions and bent over backwards to be as flexible and accommodating as one can be within reason. He even sent me the list of items needed and suggested with direct links on where to find and purchase them (and for those cynical, no, not from any source Presidio benefits from.) It was just yet another extra step that you just don't get from someone who doesn't know what you are dealing with and that every little bit of help is one less pound of weight off of your shoulders when time and capacity is in short supply. I can't say enough good things about Colin and his skilled, compassionate, dependable team. I hired them for 24/7 care for my loved one after the previous care company was an absolute nightmare and I needed to fire and replace them quickly. Presidio is family-run, employs and trains its own caregiving staff, and excels at matching the right caregivers. Colin showed up, did a walk through and made some suggestions on things we could use, and set up a schedule staffing care with the same three caregivers rotating in to cover the whole week. (I previously used Honor, which CGT referred me to. The CGT owner was very nice but couldn't do anything about Honor - which actually provided the caregivers from its location in Illinois (right?!!!) and constantly sent a new person - no continuity although they kept promising they'd do better.) Presidio Home Care looked after both of my in-laws when they had dementia. So when my mother needed a caregiver so that she can live independently, we did not hesitate to contact Presidio Home Care. They made sure our mother was well taken care of throughout the pandemic. The caregivers always wore masks around her and took all precautions. Colin and Justin were very responsive and always came up with solutions whenever there were changes to her healthcare needs. The caregivers took good care of our mother and drove her to appointments, grocery shopping, and visiting friends or family. When her health turned for the worse, Presidio was able to pivot to 24-hour care, and the caregivers helped along side of hospice nurse until her passing. We worked with Presidio on 2021. Our mom has an onset of dementia and we needed help several days a week to ensure mom was making it to appointments, getting out to run errands. The team at Presidio helped her with meal prep and also did med reminders. Presidio's team communicated very well. Save the time shopping around, and contact Presidio first. For 2 1/2 years my father required 24/7 caregiver support at his home. When we first looked for caregiving services, we had no idea what is a "good" service and what is a bad "service". We went with one company that had good reviews. Unfortunately we found their caregivers and staff to be inconsistent. I spent much of my time caregiving the caregivers. This is not the way it should be. We didn't know if this was unfortunately what we should expect with caregiving services. Someone we knew who was doing private caregiving, recommended we contact Presidio. She had worked with them in the past, and felt they were solid, and one thing I appreciated is that she told me they compensated their caregivers better than other outfits. That usually tells me that people who are good would want to stay there. What I also appreciated was that Presidio was charging the same as the company we had been dealing with. When I spoke to Colin the first time, it was clear he ran things with a high level of expertise and integrity. Presidio is family run, and each family member has had experience in different aspects of the medical and caregiving arena. I have a high level of respect for Colin's knowledge and concern. When he'd call or update me on things, I found he'd be answering questions I was about to ask him and was one step ahead of me in what needed to be considered next. With Presidio, I finally felt that not only was my Dad being taken care of, but so was I. We all know how much 24/7 caregiving costs, it's unreal, but I can say my brother and I have no regrets, and felt that what we paid for with Presidio was well worth it. Not only was the quality of the administrative team better with Presidio than with the prior outfit, but the quality of the caregivers was much higher as well. Finding the right caregiver can sometimes be like matchmaking. Every "client" has their own personal needs. Because my Dad needed 24/7 caregiving, it meant he'd need at least 3 caregivers on the team. The more caregivers, the higher likelihood there will be a caregiver that isn't a perfect match. In cases those case where my Dad did not click as well with a certain caregiver, the issues were not as egregious as they had been with the other company. Colin and the rest of the administrative team were responsive to our needs and concerns, I felt listened to. They communicated really well with each other and with their caregivers. Also, the caregivers communicated really well with each other, and this is extremely important. My father just passed away in December. We were receiving caregiving services from Presidio during the pandemic and up until my father's death. Presidio was on top of what was going on and what was needed. They would always take the time to listen to my concerns during this time which has been so challenging for all of us, especially for a company trying to provide care for the most vulnerable population. For the past year my father has been under Hospice Care. He needs 24/7 care from a caregiver. As anyone new to this learns quickly, it's an extremely expensive undertaking. At first we didn't have an idea of what is considered "good" care. We were fortunate that one of the first teams of caretakers included a woman who was a wonder worker with my Dad. We will always be grateful to her. Unfortunately the company she worked under had in-fighting among the workers, and extreme inconsistencies from one worker to the next, which became unbearable. Colin takes his job extremely seriously, and has a high standard for everything. I've heard Presido compensates their caregivers better than many services, which we appreciate, and one would think results in happier and more loyal employees. She has done a great job being a "point person" for the team and works so nicely with our weekend team that works for a different company. In October last year we were referred to Presidio by some family friends. They had been using Presidio to care for their aging mother for over a year and were very satisfied with their performance. They said that Presidio had not missed a single shift, which gave them a great deal of reassurance. Additionally, they said that the employees write shift summaries and email them to their entire family so everyone knows what's happening. Before we hired Presidio, I went to meet one of their caregivers at our friend's house. She was courteous, professional, intelligent, and wore a uniform. Wow! Best of all she was very sweet to our friend's mother. We contracted with Presidio at the beginning of December and it has been one of the best decisions we have made with regard to my mother-in-law's care. They have a team of 4 young women who work with her and we are very impressed with all of them. They are real go-getters and seem eager to please. They keep busy cleaning or cooking or finding some way to engage Mom. They even helped wrap her Christmas presents and assisted her so that she could still bake her famous Rum Balls! Like any home care company, the quality of caregiver you get is a total crapshoot, but with Presidio I've been lucky. It's obvious that each caregiver has been trained to have a great attitude and be on time. Whenever Presidio gives me a new caregiver, Colin follows up with me to make sure that I like the person. I've only had a problem with one particular girl, who spent about 15 minutes each hour texting in the bathroom (at least that's what I assumed she was doing with her cell phone). So for a 4-hour shift, she was absent for an entire hour. I notified Colin because I had other issues with her & he immediately replaced her with someone much better. All of their caregivers are required to clock in with the client's home phone, so that they can't scam you on the time. The only complaint I have with this company is that they're pretty inflexible if you need to change your schedule. You need to give 1-week's notice in order to cancel, so if you have a sudden hospitalization, you're charged for the same amount as if they actually sent someone over. However, Presidio doesn't always give this much notice if the caregiver gets sick & can't come in (or got a new job). Their terms are all spelled out on their contract, but it is unfairly in their favor. But I still highly recommend this company if you have the misfortune of needing home care because you will have many other problems to worry about. read more

Colin and his team have provided care for my mom for over 2 years and their team have shown the most care and compassion for my folks and ourselves as caretakers of our folks. Their response to needs and emergencies should be the class act for all Care Providers. I have since moved my parents up north and have gone through 2 different Care Providers and I can say that I find myself comparing every new company to Presidio with no one matching the service, care and compassion of this team. The ones I have worked with sell a great bill of goods but have not had the great follow up that Presidio provided. All the minor details that I never thought of with Presidio until I moved my parents up were thought of now. As mentioned, the team is professional and caring. The caregivers are on-time and their internal systems and/or culture of Presidio ensures that. Since moving my parents up and having to use a few Care Providers, I can't tell you how frustrating it is when a care giver is late and/or doesn't show up and the company you work doesn't have the system to help or the compassion. This company is so wonderful! A few years ago they helped my dad after his knee surgery and now they help my grandma! When they worked with my dad they sat with him in the hospital everyday and night to make sure he was well cared for after his surgery and even drove him home in his own car! Now they work with my grandma everyday. And my grandma loves her caregivers. LOVES them! They are the sweetest girls. And both are licensed professionals. In fact, everyone on their staff is a Licensed Nurse's Aide! That's one of the reasons we chose this company. Very highly trained staff. That and the fact that they are family owned and operated.
