I use a power wheelchair and the bus can only accommodate one wheelchair. There is another gentleman here that uses the same wheelchair as I use and by the way I helped this person obtain his wheelchair after he reached out to me as he was unable on his own to acquire a wheelchair for himself. My help I gave to my fellow resident seems to have been weaponized against me. From the time this person received his wheelchair he was given priority over me for the community outings and I was told I was unfairly going to all the outings before this person received his wheelchair and now he would be going to all of the outings and I couldn't go anymore. I protested and a compromise was enacted. I would be able to get together with the other resident with the wheelchair and discuss which outings we wanted to go to. Now it seems I don't get to know what the monthly outings will be and I find out after the fact. For example there is an outing coming up and this other resident gets to go with no discussion with me to see if I would of liked to go. It would seem that the monthly outings have already been gone over with this favored resident and I'm left in the dark as to any of the outings which I would be interested in. It's blatant discrimination and it is quite prevalent in this community. I am told I can only go to the doctor on Tuesday and Thursday but there are a few residents here where the rules don't apply and can go to doctors appointments anytime of the week. Constantly I have difficulty getting my doctor's appointments approved and have to get into it with the manager of transportation over my doctor's appointments. This community it would seem is all about the favored residence and then everyone else. It's a nice place but it would be great if we had unbiased management. I can't believe after I helped a fellow resident here improve his life with a wheelchair I get no thanks from the management and only obvious discrimination.

Bizarre... truly bizarre…read more I do see that somebody wrote that "First Smile exceeded beyond expectations" I just can't possible imagine how that happened. Im my experience, its been virtually impossible to get accurate and timely information, nobody have been able to give us a schedule of when caretakers will be visiting. you just basically don't go to work, sit at home and wait for caretakers to call and say they will arrive to take care of your wife in maybe 30 minutes. They send help for showering. help meant, I transport the patient out of bed, into wheelchair, into the shower up on the shower bench. and the "shower nurse" then scrubs.. then I dry and transport back.. well glad you could find time to come scrub I guess. After the "shower nurse" left the patient with soaked bandages... well just left. a visiting nurse called in the evening that she would be coming by.. I told her I already dressed the wounds hours ago. and see you next week. Well somehow management took that to mean, no need to send a nurse to supervise the healing of the wounds at all.. Honestly guys. Communication is a awesome thing.. try it..

Home instead, now called kavis health care While I was a…read moreclient of home instead , I had to call adult protective services on 2 of my caregivers they assigned to me , 1 of the male caregiver pulled to hard on my mobility belt that it caused me to fall down and I ended up with hairline fracture in my hip and the company just covered it up and the caregiver with another client, my 2nd male caregiver who knew I was a fall risk with mobility issues willfully neglected me by refusing to help me with my personal hygiene routine, and when I complained to the office my caregiver left me without finishing his shift ( this is considered willful abandonment because he didn't have my permission or the company permission to leave early, left 4 hrs early and again the company covered it up by assigning caregiver to another client, I WOULD NOT EVER RECCOMEND anyone to this company, they don't know how to take of special needs clients Very unprofessional , they have sued before by other clients, and now I'm going after them for negligence and abandonment
