Being so appalled she bought the grounds and the rest is history. Those same trees still stand today and they are magnificent There were also lots of orange trees, a lovely garden, original Renoir paintings within the house, family photos, and a nice film featuring Jean Renoir talking about growing up on the estate, and a few with Renoir himself painting in his wheelchair and surrounded by friends. We went at 4pm for an English speaking group tour. The woman, I forget her name but she is one of the owners, was LOVELY. She really talked in depth about the wines and you could tell this was truly her passion. We ended up tasting 3 wines that day; a red, white and a rose. Since it was our honeymoon she only charged us for 1 tasting, SO sweet!! Highly recommend coming here. It is a family run winery and you can really tell they love what they do.

Our guide, Laura, spoke great English and was so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. The 5 wine tasting and cellar/vineyard tour was truly amazing. We so enjoyed the feel of the place, the wonderful employees, and breath taking views. We were so impressed that they do everything in-house as an AOC Bellet, from the vineyards to the labels. It is the perfect way to escape from Nice for the afternoon. At 25 Euro per person for a 2 hour and 5 wine experience, it doesn't get better!

Fortunately we read many reviews in advance, so we showed up in appropriate long (bug-repelling) pants and with a picnic lunch of baguette, cheese, etc (although no need to bring food, because their on-site snack stand is gourmet quality). There were zip lines, netted walkways, huge plastic balls to roll around, bouncy houses, treehouses, rope swings, and more. An extra 5 euro to buy a bag of dirt to mine for treasure in a little waterway was worth it. There were many wonderful days during our trip, but with us flying and jumping and climbing all together, this will be remembered as the most magical. When the painting arrived, the frame was severely damaged. Despite being assured, in writing, that the shipment would be insured, the gallery subsequently informed us that they would be unable to reimburse us for the damage, and in fact the shipping company informed us that the gallery specifically did NOT elect to insure the shipment. The customer experience after discovering this has been extremely poor and the gallery has repeatedly been unable to provide any proof of insurance on the shipment, and have effectively told us that the issue is no longer their problem. We are lucky that the painting itself was not damaged, but in light of our experience we would STRONGLY caution any customers of Galerie le Capricorne to be aware of this issue.
