Last July on a warm Sunday afternoon I was driving on a 2 lane roundabout about a mile from my apartment. A man thought he could go completely around so he hit me as I was driving out. I was devastated. I hadn't had an auto accident for many years! The police explained to the man that he couldn't do that! State Farm was awesome with kind, understanding words and reassurance! It was like talking to my best friend. The agent explained the policies and how everything was going to progress. Run!! I've had a couple of issues over the years that other insurance companies have made so easy to resolve that I had to share. After having my boat broken into, a cracked steering counsel, lost gear, fish finders and trolling motors I received zero assistance from Chad Babcock Statefarm (Not even a phone call). Instead I ended up with deposition and a clear path that I would be having to fight to be covered. In the end I repurchased everything myself and I let it go as it wasn't worth the time and vacation days I was taking from work. I moved to progressive and after experiencing damage to my vehicle this year I regained my trust in why we carry insurance. Point being that unless you're just looking to pay for nothing and not have any peace of mind State Farm isn't the way to go and like this comment started... RUN!! A bit frustrated at first, when told Alli would contact me on a Saturday & waited all day for a callback. She happened to be on a scheduled vacation with family & did call me back at 9 pm on a Saturday night. Phone call very confusing & I questioned whether I wanted to do business with this company. On Sunday got an email with clear information. On Monday was told defensive driving course was free & I could take this & receive a discount on my car insurance. When my agent retired my policies got absorbed into Chad's office in Excelsior. A nice 17 mile drive from my home and wasn't looking forward to it. When I called to set up a life insurance policy one of the people at his office met me at a coffee shop in Minneapolis, so I wouldn't have to make the trip. Pretty amazing. Recently they opened up another office in Highland Park. That's right near my home. It's a beautiful office and you're welcomed in right off the bat. Everyone is friendly and really wants to help you. I've had State Farm for almost 20 years, and sometimes it's easy to take for granted when you have an amazing agent. A few days ago I had a minor fender bender and I got rear ended. The person who hit me had possibly the worst insurance agent in the world. Right away it made so thankful my policies went to Chad Babcock's office where they really care and want to make sure you're taken care of. Excessive, aggravating, invasive and "spammy". Babcock or state farm has sent us the same copy/paste message for almost a year despite not having any interest or interaction with state farm. We have already let them know, day one, that we do not plan on going though the ordeal to switch to any other competitors especially at the sme or similar rates. Toxic, nonetheless. read more
