Dr prodromos was rude, abrupt, curt, impatient and unprofessional. I waited over 1hr to see if I was a candidate for PRP as he had my hip Xrays and didn't review before my visit and abruptly came to exam room said I can't help you, waste of my time .I would NEVER recommend this doctor to Anyone. Dr Prodromous came highly recommended. Unfortunate I found out that when he convinced me to have a surgery that took bone from my hip and put it in the knee and it would cause issues for the REST of my life. Surgeries were performed in 2010 and 2011 and not only failed but the the pain in my hip for all these years is caused from this doctors actions. When you take bone from in my case the hip - the bone doesn't heal back the same. Plus it causes issues with the soft tissue (muscles, ligaments and all else around). I was never told this would be a cause for concern. PLUS in 2012 I had an extensive knee replacement. read more

Dr. Prodromos is a Princeton educated, Johns Hopkins Medical School graduate who did his residency @ Rush and fellowship at Harvard. Hard to top those academic credentials for a Doctor, but more importantly he tries to avoid surgery unless it's the only alternative. He will not prescribe medicines to mask the pain as that will only make your problem worse rather than heal you. What a refreshing attitude from a surgeon! I had seen Dr. Prodromos for other problems, so when I broke my hip I sought out Dr. Prodromos to perform the surgery, but he explained that he no longer performs that kind of surgery. Even though he is a renowned surgeon and editor of a book on knee surgery, he told me he limits his scope of surgery because it leads to better results. He could have just done the surgery and collected a fee but he told me I was in better hands with a trauma specialist. However he also talked to the ER doctors on my behalf and then helped me understand the alternatives over the phone (at no charge) that the trauma surgeon presented to me, which was quite helpful. After my surgery and rehab I had some pain still and he discussed this me and explained what kinds of activities to avoid on a subsequent trip. This kind of time and personal care is very unusual from a busy Orthopaedic Surgeon in my experience. Their office even called to follow-up during my trip which was above and beyond. Their office staff also helped with all my billing, Medicare and secondary insurance issues as well. Another time, I had an issue with my foot being 'sore'. He determined it was not broken even though I was in pain. Dr. Prodromos recommended Cold Laser. I had never heard of it and was understandably scared by the word 'laser'. He explained it was totally non-invasive and has been used with great success for many problems including back and neck pain. They gave me reviews & scientific information to read to increase my comfort level. After my reading, I was more than ready to try it. I felt some relief after my first treatment but still had pain. Second treatment (I fell asleep; talk about painless) really helped and after my third treatment in 10 days; my pain was completely gone and has never returned! I cannot recommend Dr. Prodromos any more highly. I have recommended him to others and know friends that have had PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatments there with outstanding results. Went to Dr P expecting to receive PRP for bone spurs on the heel where Achilles attaches. Expected that b/c that is what allowed my mother to avoid shoulder replacement for 2 yrs and counting. Dr P was straight with us that PRP has not been the most effective in treating my condition. Instead he suggested low level laser treatment as a 1st step. Less costly with a better chance of eliminating 8 yrs of pain/discomfort. After 2nd treatment of 5, pain was gone. Packed all 5 into 11 days. Also purchased specific shoes he recommended to put less stress on injured area. Dr P has advised me to baby it for possibly a year and that course of action is working perfectly. This alleged self promoting orthopedic "surgeon" Prodromos is not only pompous, narcissistic, arrogant; he's extremely misleading. He alleges to be a Rush University surgeon, however, none of the staff or other Rush University surgeons or professors have ever heard of him. He sports a Rush University lab coat which leads many to believe that he is definitely on staff with Rush University Hospital. Not so! He took some classes there, maybe! WARNING: The rating should be -0- due to the danger of seeking help from a doctor whose exams are invasively damaging. I walked in with ease, and prior to the was able to walk at least 3 miles at a stretch without difficulty. By the time I left the practice I couldn't make it to my car a mere 25 yards from the entrance. I turned around and requested a Disabled sign for my car having just then sustained a disabling condition during Dr. Chad's aggressive exam. They refused and didn't offer to help me back to my car. To this day, almost 5 months later I cannot walk more than five minutes and must limit standing. Sitting is also uncomfortable. Let me explain how the exam went: First he never read my history (which I had no time to complete) and he didn't observe the three X-rays until I asked him to. He saw nothing significant in the hip joints except the usual aging process. I was about to leave after the spiel he gave, but Dr. Chad asked me to get on the X-ray glass table (there was no padding to cushion my bony spine). Before I could settle in, to find a comfortable way, with my body twisted he immediately took my right leg with two hands to lift and bend my knees up as far as it could go against my belly. As he pressed on the knee he forcefully pushed my leg beyond my normal range of motion into a circular movement. I begged him not to do the same with the left leg but he instantly did anyway. I yelped in pain and could barely get off the glass table top and dress myself. When I paid my portion of the bill he came out of a room from another patient and seemed rather nervous and offered to refer me to another type of doctor, but then said I wouldn't be able to afford them anyway. I have notified some chiropractors and friends about the devastating treatment I endured. My primary doctor suspects that Dr. Chad had caused bleeding in my groin area from where all my pain derives accompanied by spasms and burning sensations. Dr. Prodromos is a wonderful Orthopedist physician. He is professional and caring of his patients' needs. Unlike other Orthopedic physicians I have encountered, Dr. Prodromos actually takes the time to talk to you about any questions or concerns you may have. In addition, he has a great staff who are very helpful and friendly. Anytime I needed paperwork for my employer or insurance company, they were quick to assist. Also, Angelo and Cliff, who are the physical therapist there, were great! They were very patient and informative with my treatment plan and progress. I have recommended family and friends to Dr. Prodromos, in which they also had a great experience with him as well. I will definitely continue to see him and recommend him for any orthopedic needs. read more

I would like to tell what a wonderful doctor I met when my shoulder was hurting. Dr Chadwick Prodromus was excellent with helping me. He told what I needed to do so that the pain would go away. Today I went to see him for my right wrist and of course his instructions to make my wrist was on point. I admire the knowledge that he has about the body, and he's a doctor that has alternative for making you better no just writing prescriptions for pills. This 'doctor' has been sending me right-wing political misinformation regarding COVID19 including references to drugs the FDA has said are not effective. The emails contained multiple references to 'tyranny' and 'freedom of choice', two huge calls to the right. It said not to listen to disease experts, and instead follow his advice. It also contained a link to a right-wing news platform (in Texas, where they are actively downplaying and denying the worst of the pandemic) he had an interview on about CORONA. He's not even in ANY FIELD that relates to CORONA symptoms or treatment. HE DOES SPORTS MEDICINE AND PHYSICAL THERAPY, and thinks he knows more than infectious disease experts. I unsubscribed, but the emails kept coming. So I'm writing this review as I told them I would if the emails didn't stop. It's pitiful that this man, supposed to be a trusted physician, is spreading misinformation. Furthermore, I received a 'treatment' for TMJ years ago from him. Dr. Prodromos performed my ACL reconstruction and subsequent arthroscopic procedures. Additionally, he managed my daughters foot injury in a conservative manner. He evaluated her and explained his diagnosis in a way that she could understand. He was caring and understanding with the bedside manner that we hope to see from all of our doctors. I have known him for nearly 20 years, from when he repaired my ACL. I was recommended to him from my cousin and after seeing his credentials, I was sold. He evaluated my knee and determined that my ACL was torn. He took the time to explain my surgical options, then scheduled surgery when I made my decision. The surgery and recovery went well. I am somewhat of a weekend warrior and have since damaged my meniscus which he has also repaired. My repaired knee now feels more stable than my "good" knee. I have referred several people to Dr. Prodromos and all have had optimal outcomes. He is the only orthopaedic doctor that I recommend. read more
