One night she begged me to make a dr appointment to figure out what was wrong with her toes. I called Dunn Foot & Ankle since Brian Dunn came recommended by many friends. I called on a Friday and they were able to squeeze her in for an appointment the next Monday! Considering how hard it is to get doctor appointments these days that alone is worth 5 stars. We showed up a few minutes early for our 11:10am appt and saw Dr. Dunn within promptly. She explained her toe issues and he took a look at her feet and immediately knew what the issue was- a combination of flat feet, bunions and a lot of tennis! Unfortunately, she had inherited my flat feet issues. Fortunately, he had a solution. He fit her for custom orthotics and showed me a toe spacer to buy on amazon that she could wear when playing tennis. The orthotics will take 3 weeks to arrive, but she tried the toe spacer at tennis tonight and said they already feel much better! I've actually been meaning to get custom orthotics for my flat feet myself so he even squeezed me in right after my daughter. I look forward to picking up our orthotics in a few weeks and had an amazing experience. I can see why Dr. Dunn has so many fans!

He also saw my daughter (when she was 18) who was an avid ballet dancer and corrected her issue by activating the right muscles before training. He has seen many of my friends and what is particularly impressive is that he uses completely different therapies based on his expert diagnostic skills. He does not simply execute the same protocol across different patients. He is absolutely a genius, diagnosing a problem and then applying the right therapies that lead to resolution. I'm a strong believer that energy transcends through touch , and he is a natural healer. Yes he is a doctor, he knows the human anatomy , he has the latest techniques , he has a lovely office .... but what's much harder to find in a healthcare provider is a genuine desire to maKe people feel better. He is so attentive. He will try 85 ways to make you feel better , and if it doesn't work he will try the 86th with no loss of enthusiasm. His true greatness is in his humble demeanor. The one on one care on site and accessibility was genuine and helped me understand my recovery and previous setbacks. I am amazed more PT clinics don't operate this way- I think there would be a lot less of us in PT then. Booking: First appointment made over phone and subsequent ones made on site and they accept most insurance. Parking: Ample parking in lot. My other 2 had spent a little time in PT when they were younger (no one likes to move in my house) and Julie was different from what I had experienced in the past. Before I had basically dropped my kids at a physical therapy playground where they spent an hour playing games. And while Julie certainly has some fun toys to occupy the kids she has a much more clinical approach. Julie is firm with the kids yet very warm for the same time and it's clear she cares a lot about her patients. My little one used to have some trouble separating there, but now is all smiles and excited to see Julie every week. My knees hurt for weeks and weren't getting better, even after some anti-inflammatories and rest, so it wasn't terribly surprising when I heard a loud cracking noise as I was trying to sit down on a yoga mat. I couldn't straighten my leg or put weight on it, and a visit to Ortho Access was my next move. I was able to schedule an appointment for about an hour later. I was seen right away, and Dr. Skjong couldn't have been nicer (or funnier - he offered to let me punch him in the face when he assessed my knee. I did not take him up on that offer). He referred me for an MRI, and called me himself with the results. He patiently talked through options for addressing the absolutely disgusting mess that was the connective tissue in my knee, and made a quick referral for me to physical therapy. Five weeks later, I was back to running, cycling, lifting and -- yes -- even successfully sitting down on a yoga mat. My only complaint was that the check-in process was a little long for someone on crutches who couldn't bear any weight but needed to sign things. It seems like having a seated check-in option would be good (tablet or something similar?) given the nature of the clinic and the work they do.

At first, the therapy I received here was adequate. However, you should be aware that this is a…read morepractice which gives you only a short amount of time with an actual physical therapist, who then hands you off to a lesser educated associate to supervise the majority of your exercises. They also pressure you to schedule back to back therapy appointments to fit their schedule, which seems dangerous to me. It doesn't allow for rest days in between appointments. Despite my informing them of pain from a previous appointment (the day before due to thier back to back booking), I was pushed by my therapist to do the same uncomfortable exercises that I told her caused pain the day before. The PT here is very aggressive! I wish I had listened to my intuition then, but I thought they knew better than me, and that I should just push through the pain. Unfortunately, in my case, this pushing from my PT along with the inadequate supervision of most of my exercises in my appointment, led to not only an aggravation of my initial injury along with a completely new injury. I could barely walk after my appointment at Ivy Rehab. An MRI after this appointment happened showed a completely new severe tear of the meniscus my previously uninjured leg. My advice to patients who choose this practice would be to be very cautious, and listen carefully to your body. If you have pain after an appointment, please take the time to take care of yourself first. Don't let them pressure you to do exercises that hurt or when you are in pain.
