The food prices in switzerland is always expensive regardless where you eat. But this restaurant price was very reasonable for the quality of food we ate. All locals eat here too. So it is a good sign

From the months leading up to our stay to our initial steps into Grindlewald from the train station they thought of every way possible to make our stay extraordinary. We were there from Christmas Eve through the 30th and had the most magical Christmas. They brought a mini Christmas tree up to our room upon request so we could have an authentic Christmas morning with our kids. Staff reached out months prior to find out our son's names and then Father Christmas himself handed out personalized gifts to every child using their full names at a Christmas gathering. Even for the adults was a once in a lifetime experience. Skiing from this hotel location is a Breeze. Couldn't be a better location. The views are incredible. The pool table was one of the huge highlights of our stay. Food is amazing. Breakfast easy and divine. Can't say enough. You meet the owners and their family. You feel the love and care they put into the place. We've told everyone it's a place you must visit!

This alpine hut is in one of the most picturesque and dramatic alpine settings you can imagine…read more The 2 hour hike to get to the hut was one of the most beautiful hikes we have ever been on--waterfalls everywhere, green, lush foliage along steep cliffs overlooking the town of Grindelwald below, groups of black and white sheep grazing on the mountainsides, four peaks of over 4000 meters looming above you... when you get close to the hut, you then have a gigantic glacier that appears to be moving down the mountain right to you. It's indescribably in words. The nice Swiss couple who run the hut are very helpful and maintain a very orderly and clean atmosphere (observe the rules!). Dorm-type room was simple but cozy--bring a sleeping bag liner sheet. Dinner was delicious, too. Highly recommend! If you are fit, love to hike, like be away from it all (no Wifi here) and love amazing mountain scenery, this is the place for you.

The owners were so nice and the sauna, the game room, the lounge area, were all so quaint and a nice way to unwind after a long day of hiking and adventures around Switzerland. I've stayed at other places nearby before, around Lauterbrunnen, but this place really tops it off and I love how peaceful it is, close enough to the main center of town and restaurants and shops, but far enough to get your peace and quiet, all just a walk away.

It's also very close to a big Migros supermarket and other convenience stores. Wonderful service provided by both Norma and Hermann. I really appreciated how fast they reply to emails. We arrived very early before check in but we were able to store our luggages in the common area. You get a physical key that works for both the room and the building. Breakfast is included but unfortunately, we weren't able to enjoy it due to early excursions and an even earlier check out time. However, I very much appreciated how they packed us a breakfast before checking out (you'd have to email them the day before to ). The downside was that the room was pretty simple and outdated, but we were only in the room to sleep. There weren't very many outlets available and no toiletries provided. The rooms have no AC, though I think that's standard for most places in Interlaken, but they provided a desk fan that cooled the room even in July. There is also no fridge. I'm very short so the showers/bathroom worked for me but it would be difficult to maneuver around for those that are much taller. Two single beds were pushed together for a queen but they were comfortable. Overall, while the rooms could be improved, we still had a wonderful stay here. I'd consider staying here again for the decent price, convenient location, and wonderful staff!

The property was very cute and there was some outdoor furniture on the premises as well. I enjoyed some of the small touches such as the chocolate by the front desk and pamphlets about different nearby attractions. The hotel was within a 5-10 minute walk of the Interlaken West station, which was very ideal. The main downside was there was no air conditioning in our room, but they did provide us with a fan. Be careful to keep the windows closed if you can because we noticed a lot of flies would come in and congregate by the lights. If you're looking for a convenient spot near the shopping areas and transportation, I would certainly recommend!
