We also did our engagement session with her in Downtown Detroit. She knew all of the places to go and guided us the entire way. On the wedding day she made sure to get all of the important images that we wanted. We received 1252 images from the day! I really liked how her second shooter and her split up during the getting ready so it would save time for us. She also had really creative ideas for our first look (right on the beach!) that made it special for us. She's also really nice and not super pushy, so we felt comfortable asking her for certain shots too. Photography was really important to us, and we're so happy that we went with Geneva!

I was an engagement session winner from a contest on Facebook and was contacted for a time to set…read moreup the session we won. when i told her that my fiance and i did not have very flexible schedules as we both work during the week just like any other adult couple, i was told that she is booked on the weekends and that she would only do it during the week and most couples take half days off work to get them done. i absolutely did not appreciate her lack of flexibility and that i got no response after telling her that we were not going to be able to use our free session. i didn't even get a "ok screw you" from her, nothing at all, not very professional at all in my opinion.

She's amazing, responsive, kind, and a generally great human. She flew out to San Francisco to do our engagement photos and it was such a good day! She made us feel comfortable and laugh and the photos turned out amazing. Fast forward to our wedding day, and she was even more amazing! She captured every wonderful part of the day, wrangled our families into group pictures, and in general was just a delight to have with us on our wedding day. She kept everything on time and we couldn't be happier with everything. The photos of course turned out fantastic. She's so great at capturing the perfect light and flattering candids. GREAT decision on our behalf! All of the photos over the course of our package turned out beautiful. She gives each photo a little retouch and/or enhancement which makes them glow. We are currently booked for a maternity session in just a few weeks and will be doing another milestone package for the new baby we are expecting in the next month or so. She is a super fantastic photographer who does weddings, engagement photos, senior photos, family, kids - all that fun stuff. She does some of the posed type photos, especially if that is what you are looking for - but she excels in taking photos with a little more artisic flair, photos that truly capture people in the moment, and photos of the potentially missed details. We did engagment pictures with Amanda and our wedding photos in 2007. My sister used her for her wedding in April of 2009, and she is doing two friends weddings in 2010. As you can see, the whole word-of-mouth business works amazingly well for her. Amanda's personality sold me on her services even moreso than her work. My husband HATES having his picture taking - so when we met with Amanda and it was obvious how awesome and hilarious she is, it became obvious that she was the perfect choice for us. Let me tell you, we were not disappointed. (And it helps that her prices are more than reasonable) Our engagement pictures were super fun, and a great way to get my husband even more warmed up to Amanda prior to the wedding. We brought our dog along with us and she took some pictures of us with him- for the record, she is great at photographing animals too. We had a few hundred pictures when she was done- and she releases the rights to the photos so you can make copies however you want, as many as you want, as cheap as you want. Bonus! Wedding day - Amanda met us at my parents house to take some "getting ready" pictures. She then followed us downtown Detroit to photograph the wedding, and to Woodward between the Fox and Comerica Park for some more fabulous pictures. Amanda is not afraid to do what she needs to do to get a good picture. For one of the photos that I posted to this listing, she was literally lying down in the middle of Woodward to get the best angle. Now, I should mention that she was sick as a dog through all of this. Her personality still sparkled and shined, but it was obvious that she was not doing so hot. If I remember correctly, she came to our wedding after being in the hospital for a while. Needless to say, she wasn't able to come to the reception, but sent her now-cohort Jen to take over. I think this was one of a handful of times that Amanda has had to send in a replacement. Sad as I was that Amanda wasn't going to be able to join us, I was definitely pleased with the way Jen covered our reception. She tooks tons of pictures and didn't leave until she was sure we had gotten every picture we wanted. My sisters wedding went equally well, and she was very happy with the end results. I give her credit too, because my sisters videographer was a pain in the a$$ and Amanda was very professional in not telling him just how obnoxious and sucky he was. :o) We hope to have Amanda do some family pictures for our sons first birthday in the summer- if she can capture adults and dogs, I am sure she can capture some amazing things with cute little buggers too. Amanda is awesome - I think that with most of her customers, she becomes not only their photographer but also a friend. Love her.
