I am a graduate of Chamberlain Chicago. It's a professional school, but guys - it is so expensive. Go to a community school, get your Associates, and then have a hospital pay for continued schooling. That is SO much wiser financially. I am still paying large unfortunate chunks of my hard-earned paycheck for this education that I could have gotten for much less. I'm currently enrolled in Chamberlain University's Nurse Practitioner program. While this is one of the country's largest nursing schools, it has a reputation for being a diploma mill. It now seems they're overcorrecting by making the program unnecessarily difficult, perhaps to improve their image. I'm taking NR507 (Advanced Pathophysiology), and the midterm was worded in a way that was incoherent--even though I hold an AA, ASN, and BSN. It felt like the test was intentionally confusing. The professor is a PharmD with little availability and poor communication. Her study guide and the test content did not align at all. There's also inconsistency in grading: prior cohorts received a 10%+ curve, but ours only received a 4% curve. This is unfair, especially when test design lacks clarity and support is minimal. Separately, due to offenses from over 20 years ago when I was a juvenile, Chamberlain told me I'd be subject to random drug testing and might not be able to sit for boards. I had to sign a waiver with no real guidance or advocacy. This feels discriminatory and poorly handled. Lastly, the financial aid department is unprofessional. I asked for clarification multiple times and stated I didn't understand the loan process. Despite this, they pushed papers in front of me to sign without providing proper explanations. This school makes it nearly impossible to complete your courses in a timely manner. They put "holds" on your account preventing registration for everything and then provide no insight on what exactly needs to be done to resume classes. I have spent so much money out of pocket to be "compliant" and as soon as I complete one thing they find another reason to delay my education. It's extremely hard to get ahold of anybody about this. This is one of the most expensive schools offering this program, yet they still take every single dime from students. I would NEVER recommend this University and plan on transferring as soon as I can. read more

The school is severely lacking in student support, with an overabundance of administrators compared to professors, leaving students without adequate feedback on exams and missed questions, creating a confusing learning environment. The institution assigns a large volume of homework, papers, and quizzes, but gives minimal credit for this work. Starting September 2025, the school is implementing a new policy where only three exams will determine a student's grade, meaning any additional work or quizzes will not count towards their final score, making it significantly harder to pass the class. This change clearly benefits the school more than the students, who are paying a high tuition of $4250 per 8-week course, and the school continues to make changes without considering student feedback or needs.". read more

Horrible customer service, academic advisors do not respond for weeks, the financial aid projections are way off and once enrolled its a bait and switch when it comes to the school cost and when I finally reached out on how to withdraw the system won't let me and the academic advisor sent me the "welcome to Chamberlain" email. So, now I'm going to file a formal complaint and reach out to my attorney because after 6 phone call and waiting online for 2 hours and no response via email I still can not get information on how to withdraw from the program. Every time the student signs into the learning environment they must be verified using the okta app that does not work, then many hours are spent on the phone with IT, and IT is worthless. I was just trying to get the bugs ironed out and get through orientation, but withdrew from the masters program because of IT issues. read more

I was a former BSN student in 2009-2012. Then enrolled in the NP program in 2020. The school has gone down hill so fast. Corrupt leadership. Adtalem, the parent company, is deplorable. Schedule is inflexible, but the later classes is nice. The instructors are good. Downfall is they do steal your financial aid return with no explaination from the financial department. My tuition and books are covered by the VA. They have written documentation with the VA understanding this, but they refuse to send my pell grant funds. It has taken two months to receive my student loans from the school after they received it from student aid. I'm writing this review to attempt for Chamberlain to recognize their mistakes and fix it. read more

Don't go here. HUGE SCAM. The finance department sent me a financial plan at the beginning of the semester. The finances included me having a Pell grant and paying around 196$ a month for classes out of pocket with financial aid. 6 weeks in, I had to contact them because of an outstanding balance on my account that should have been covered. They told me the financial plan they sent had a "glitch" and they sent a new one that had me paying 2400$ a month for classes. plus student loans. plus owing at the end of the two years. Don't go here. Don't waste your time. I'm now seeking legal advice because they are charging me 4200$ for the 6 weeks of class I took, but had to withdraw from based on the financial plan. This is an absolutely HORRIBLE institution. Please go anywhere but there. It is owned by Devry, and is a low quantity degree factory. Their only concern is getting as much money from students as possible and aim to fail students to make them retake classes. They have zero concern for student success or well being. I am in the FNP program and everything was going well until NR509. It is impossible to work or have a family life while going through the program. This school completely destroyed my mental heath. This is a horrible excuse for a university. As a current student I'm dealing with lack of communication from a professor that jeopardizes my ability to graduate on time and when you reach out to academic support they just keep directing you to other departments that will direct you again to someone else. This institution is a walking contradiction and they are only concerned on financial growth as a private institution. The students are lost almost all the time, and when asking instructors or the proper officials for guidance, they will and can misguide you. An instructor mentioned not having the appropriate training or tools, whereas many of the instructors attempt to salvage a reputation: which results in feelings of distrust. They believe providing lengthy instructions automatically makes things concise. The fast pace isn't the problem, it's the instructors and the Deans not being advocates for their students. You will be set up for failure, and as much as they like to portray the illusion of a fine institution it is in fact the opposite. You will have to fiend for your own, and they will not properly prepare you for the NCLEX or any quiz/exams. If you point out something an official did incorrectly, they are not nice about it, and you have to be careful as you may be the one that has to pay, because despite them teaching nursing principles and ethics they rarely exhibit these qualities themselves. They are hypocritical and this applies for the Atlanta campus. The ball is constantly dropped and the main type of students to suffer are low income, underprivileged population, or black/brown population. I have only come across 2 individual instructors that actively support and advocate for their students, while the rest fall into one of the categories if not all. I apologize that these two are even at an institution that is undeserving of them, and they know who they are. I am extremely disappointed of the type of culture that has been encouraged and supported. I did not attend school yet but they had a booth at the career fair at my job for nursing and I'm currently in school but in the meantime I do housekeeping. The lady first said to me was "I didn't know nurses worn different types of uniforms" she said it like I was not suppose to be there. Then she started asking about the school I go to and my degree. Currently a student using VA Benefits and CURRENTLY looking for a different school to utilize my benefits at!!! Before I started I heard of how they had racist instructors who were able to bend the rules due to them also being professors there but I would've never believed it if I hadn't experienced it myself. The professor that all the past students talk about is also the Associate Dean of Faculty. The professor asked me about dropping their class 3 weeks before the class ended because I had a 74% and not the required 76%, when I told her I planned to stay because I new I cold raise the grade (due to the upcoming assignments that were due) miraculously a few days later one of papers got 'flagged" for plagiarism. The crazy part is, I'd used the template the professor provided to write the paper , there were some similarities but I used my own sources and a completely different topic. I've honestly never attended a school that used past students work as a template for other students to use. It seems unfair if they know students will be flagged for plagiarism. The racial part of this situation came about when one of classmates who used the same template and paper showed 41% similarities never received a zero on the assignment like I did, and yes she is a white girl. I would've pushed the issue more but I know how hard we all have worked to pass this instructors class so I didn't want to risk her failing the class like I have. Upon withdrawing from the class I had a 75.86 in my core assignments but the professor decided to not round it to a 76% and gave me a Withdrawal failure instead of a Withdrawal Pass. Needless to say it's pointless to be at a institution that picks and chooses who the rules apply to and what rules they want to follow or not. read more

My review is for the admissions process. I inquired about the school in August '20 and was looking to start in Jan '21. I attended the required orientation and was given my counselors information, Shena P.,who I was told to send my transcripts to and await her email. Long story short I never heard from her. After leaving countless voicemails and emailing her I gave up and likely got accepted into a better Nursing school. I was finally contacted April of '21 (8 mos later) to ask if I was still interested in attended which I kindly declined. Chamberlain Atlanta students services tried everything in their power to make sure I did not get into pharmacology for this July session even though, for the past 2 weeks, the system showed available seats for the online course. Also, our pharmacology professor regularly wrote misinformation on the board the entire session and argued with students when they would ask for clarification. She vehemently refused to ever reiterate herself to reteach a concept. This has been a horrific experience. There is no support here. You are on your own, and excellent job to Chamberlain for extending my time with them from 2024 to summer 2025 over a minor accommodation they could have made but refused to! Please apply elsewhere! Spoke to an admission advisor named Jessica. On the first phone conversation, I thought she was a bit curt and unfriendly but refrained from saying anything thinking perhaps I was a bit stressed about starting a new program, but on the follow-up call with this admission advisor just a couple of days later, she DEFINITELY WAS unfriendly! She was curt and had a very unwelcoming tone. She gave short answers and acted annoyed when I requested further information. I felt as if I was annoying her. I requested to speak with another advisor and then decided I would not deal with a school that treats potential students so rudely. I definitely would not go to this school for any of its online programs because online classes demand great communication to be successful. This enquire process was such a turn-off. My daughter obtained her BSN from Chamberlain in 2023 from St Louis MO. The Chamberlain experience was a disorganized mess from the start. My husband and I requested multiple times to sit down with a financial advisor to discuss pricing/payment options to which we were told they could not give us a specefic number because things change semester to semester....this was the first red flag. I attended nursing school in 2004 through a local community college and I feel my curriculum was 10x better that what Chamberlain offered. My daughter drove 1 hour and 15 min one way to school and was informed multiple times that class was cancelled once she arrived due to teacher shortage. There were multiple administration changes in the two years she attended, clinical rotations is a whole different story. Clinicals were also frequently cancelled last minute. She was responsible for obtaining her own CPR certification on her own dime on her own time...why is CPR certification not included in the OVERPRICED curriculum?! Started here in 2012 withdrew from NR304 & took a leave of absence in 2014 for personal issues. Came back in 2016 for one term. Retook NR304 and a few other courses. Completed a clinical and aced my other courses but failed 304 by 1 point. Because I withdrew from 304 and I failed it once they "academically dismissed " me. Mind you I had a major emergency surgery during this time as well. I appealed the decision & was kicked out! Now I'm having a difficult time getting into a nursing program because Chamberlain basically screwed me over! I went to Chamberlain University Atlanta and graduated in 2018. I absolutely think Chamberlain's curriculum, as well as the professors prepared me to pass the NCLEX. Sometimes it felt like I wasn't being prepared but more times than not we were being challenged and pushed to pass. We received great hands on experience from clinicals that I still use to this day. Many professors I work with now because many of them are still practicing nurses and NP's. The school was fairly new when I started so they were still getting things organized and changing policies, which was frustrating at times. Nevertheless, everyone pretty much in my graduating class passed the exit exam and many of us had passed the NCLEX by graduation so we were already BSN RN's. I also passed NCLEX on first try with the minimum amount of questions (75) with time left on the clock. The NCLEX was very easy to me because Chamberlain was that hard, but I'm thankful for it, ATI & UWorld, because I absolutely love being an RN. Also I found a job at Emory before I graduated. I sat for the NCLEX knowing I already sighed for a nurse residency. I would recommend Chamberlain. read more

Great resources for students, overall, the faculty was amazing, off course there was a few bad ones but that's like everywhere and life in general. I started Chamberlain in May of 2016! So far I love it. I feel that the deans and professors do what they can to make you succeed. From what I heard, there was some trouble in the past, but since then we've gotten a new dean and she seems to really know what is she doing. I feel that I am getting the nursing experience that I will need at Chamberlain. The workload is extremely heavy since it is accelerated, so you must have dedication to come here. The tuition is expensive...but I look at it as it'll be manageable once I become an RN due to their great pay. I would recommend this college for those that do not want to go thru KSU, GSU, UGA or any other traditional college/university system. read more

Anybody who can add 2 + 2 gets accepted--as long as they have a wallet! All the administrators care about is getting the next group of students in the door and taking their money. Believe me, this school is expensive, and many student put themselves into a lifetime of debt they will never be able to pay off. Current students are treated poorly and the leadership is a complete joke. Students are made to feel they are lucky to be there and not molded into the type of nurses this country needs. This school is not as bad as what everyone make it out to be. Like every other school it has its ups and downs. Some of the teachers couldn't give two ****s. Others however, really want to see you succeed. The CAS is either a hit or miss. Some days they are helpful and some they just are not all there. The Student service office needs some better management. My advisor is such a sweetheart. Others I have heard bad things about. The tuition seems a lot, however when compared to a 4 year university it basically is the same. CCN just seems like more because you pay every other month (middle of every session). Classes are tough and they do weed out students who aren't made for nursing. However when you are talking a class in 8 weeks with 16 weeks of information you better be prepared to study. read more

There is a process with this school, just as there is with every other nursing school. If you are lucky enough to be accepted into this program then count your blessings and work hard. From the moment I made the decision to attend chamberlain, they have been there to help me every step of the way. They are courteous and honest. I was accepted into another program and was treated terribly by the staff. This school has gone above and beyond expectations I set for them. It is more expensive than other programs but if you break it down, not by much. Books are included at this school. It makes the price about the same. You have to pass an entrance exam, just as you would elsewhere, and you have to meet the criteria set for school entry. This is no different from anywhere else you apply. This school has smaller class sizes which allows for more one on one time. They also have tutors if needed. It's the one school giving you every option to succeed instead of weeding you out. If you fail, that's truly on you and the lack of dedication you applied. I'm proud to be a chamberlain student nurse and I would recommend this school to anyone willing to make the effort. read more

OMG! I thought I wanted to attend this school but I'm kinda scared now! The comments have scared me senseless. I mean from the Prices to the Professionalism to the program possibility being a SCAM! I thought I had found my way. I didn't want to wait so many years on a waiting list for a Nursing Program. However, I don't want to fail as a Nurse because of poor training or lack of Leadership in the class due to lack of Students so now I am forced to do online classes which is not very helpful to me at all. I am in my junior year at this school and am only staying because I'm not even sure if another school will take all of their credits. The school has good intentions but is completely unorganized. They are new to Atlanta and its almost as if they are making things up as they go along. They don't give you enough notice for things they deem "mandatory." They will send you over an our away from your home to do clinicals (at 7 am might I add.) The up side is that they are easier to get into than many of the other nursing schools in Atlanta. In a couple of years after much staff replacement and organization, this will be a great school, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone now. read more

The only thing they are good at is getting people in the door. Once they sucker you in and make you pay their inflated educational expenses, you get less than mediocre education. For all of those reading this, please understand that I am not a student who failed a class, so NO I am not out to get Chamberlain. I am writing this, because there are several facets of Chamberlain that are unfavorable, and would not want another individual to experience these issues. This issue transpired last year and I transferred out somewhere else, graduated, and am currently working. For one, I was LIED to by the Admissions office, which did not factually inform me of when I would be able to register. After taking my HESI literally, four months prior to the following time they accept students, I was ignored by the Admissions Advisor, Daloune Lamothe for SEVERAL months. Secondly, the professors (a term used loosely) in this institution will NOT and I repeat, will NOT take responsibility for any wrong-doing, most of the instructors that I have encountered were EXTREMELY unprofessional; in fact, some instructors made crass and inappropriate jokes in the presence of students, arrived late to class, or texted while instructing the course. Lastly, do NOT make any attempt at bringing any troubling issues to the attention of higher beings, such as that dreadful dean, Stephenson. She will make poor attempts at rhetoric and the rem-mentioning of policy, to maintain the CYA(cover your ass) code of conduct that Chamberlain College of Nursing Atlanta wishes to ever so greatly uphold. This is not a student writing this, that has failed a class, or is bitter, this is a student who recognizes GREAT fault and foolery. Yeah, this place is pretty bad. I'm about to graduate in September and I am leaving here a very bitter man. Nothing to do with the work load. Everything to do with the way the school runs (like crap). We have a new president and she is 3 times worst than the first president. The first president was not bad, you could see her working things out, but the new president is a huge step backwards. I know one thing they are good at here and that is making tons of money. You can see it on the stock market. This outfit profits 43 cents on every dollar it generates. Someone bought a yacht with my tuition, don't let it happen to you. Oh! BTW, I was the same one that had a post praising the school earlier this year, but things changed just that fast and their true colors came out.
