Last night I had one of the scariest moments since becoming a mother. I thought my 18 month old son…read morehad swallowed a button battery. Panicked, I drove to the nearest facility that could do an xray which was this urgent care. Even though they had a 90 minute wait, they got my son back within 5 minutes of me bursting through their doors. The triage nurse was very patient as I cried my son's information to her. The xray tech was very gentle in guiding me to position my crying and confused toddler. The doctor came in very quickly to examine the results and quickly notified me that there was no button battery on the imaging. Everyone was so quick and patient with the entire process. I was advised to go to the hospital for further treatment. As I came home to pack a bag, I stumbled upon the button battery that my cats had been playing with on my stairwell. I want to thank the staff and doctors at this facility for easing my mama mind and being so awesome and fast acting!

This shoulder is not in a happy place, but Dr Johnson will cut to the chase She took me back to my assigned space where Dr Johnson met me. He had a trick up his sleeve. He prepped where the shot was going and Said: "Now wiggle the toes on your left foot". Becoming engaged, I made certain they were moving. AND before I knew it the shot was done " because he knew exactly where is should be put! Not to be lengthy but Mike Travis did my hands, Daniel Bauk did my hip, and Colleen worpked on my knee. Approximately 2 weeks later I was having intermittent pain. I called office to be seen was told can I come in Thursday at 2:00 My mistake I assumed it was that Thursday. I arrived at office and was told it was next Thursday so they wanted me to go for a week with tooth pain. I was then told that all he could do for me was an X-ray but I would not be treated. I left upset that this so called Dr. would not have compassion to treat his pt with pain. I called and asked for all further appointments be cancelled. I was then informed there was a 2:00 cancellation and he could see me. I refused the appointment and thank god I did before he could do further damage. I was seen by a compassionate dentist who informed me that the filling he did was too close to the crown. This was a Friday I was prescribed pain medication and treatment that day. Was told that the pin he put in for a broken tooth was not necessary. I found zero compassion zero empathy and unprofessional treatment in this practice. Front desk girl seem annoyed at me. A one man Delta Force fighting the terrorism of tooth decay. Dr. Sachs is unquestionably the best dentist I have ever visited. Foremost, he possesses a deft skill when working in the mouth. I have had my jaw pried open by dentists that have the mitts of a prize fighter, but Dr. Sachs is gentle and precise. Discomfort is rare, and I can't remember the last time anything actually hurt. Every procedure Dr. Sachs performs is planned out before you are even asked to open wide. This planning enables him to work efficiently and with an economy of movement or delays, thus minimizing the patient's time in the chair. I appreciate that. Dr. Sachs seems to actually love his profession, and that has a side bonus for the patient. He keeps himself very up to date on innovations in procedures, instruments, and materials. He might be a bit of a gadget freak (most dentists are) but all for the sake of improving the process. Needless to say, his office is well equipped and modern, very open and very pleasant. My favorite instrument of his is the electronic syringe. Using the finest gauge hypodermic, he can numb your teeth with almost zero discomfort. When he does have to resort to the old school syringe, his skill is such that even metal monster poses minimal discomfort. The entire staff is friendly and professional. Kay, the dental hygienist, maintains a smile and a soothing voice while she gets to witness what I have eaten for dinner over the course of the past week. "What else besides fennel seed do you put in your steak rub?" Sue, the office manager, is extremely helpful with regards to navigating the byzantine world of health insurance and recommended to me a dental insurance plan that was most affordable. I wholeheartedly recommend the services of Dr. Sachs. P.S. I found Dr. Sachs because his office is on the main drag of Solomons. I figured I could make my appointments for Thursday afternoons and then reward myself with a well crafted beverage at the nearby Tiki Bar. That happened exactly one time. When I started here 4 years ago they were a booming business where they made crowns in there…read moreoffice, did implants in there office which was very convenient, but shortly after my first implant, the Dr who performed it left there practice, and a new dentist started my treatment, but after my second visit he also left the practice, and he had performed a bridge which failed a year after it was put in, so I was moved to a new Dr again who wanted to repair the damage from the previous bridge disaster, and reccomended a implant, but they no longer do implants so they referred me out to a new dental surgeon who extracted 2 teeth and started the implant. At this time this doctor noticed severe decay in front of a molar he pulled, and said he doubted the tooth could be saved. Why after 4 years being seen at patuxent dental did they never see this decay? When I called and complained they set me up with an appointment, and then the day prior to the appointment they called and said they needed to end our patient client relationship. So if you complain about their bad dentistry practices , rather than fixing the issues they will simply drop you as a patient. It is very easy to see why two highly skilled dentist left this practice, and believe me I should have never gone there, all they care about is big money procedures like crowns, implants, etc while they let the rest of your teeth rot.
