At this time this doctor noticed severe decay in front of a molar he pulled, and said he doubted the tooth could be saved. Why after 4 years being seen at patuxent dental did they never see this decay? When I called and complained they set me up with an appointment, and then the day prior to the appointment they called and said they needed to end our patient client relationship. So if you complain about their bad dentistry practices , rather than fixing the issues they will simply drop you as a patient. It is very easy to see why two highly skilled dentist left this practice, and believe me I should have never gone there, all they care about is big money procedures like crowns, implants, etc while they let the rest of your teeth rot. The site has a clear and user friendly interface and scheduling tool. the directions for the tool and what communication you will receive is well communicated. The site offers 3 options for how to receive communication and there is a nice photo of the dentist with his credentials and license number. This inspires a good deal of confidence as a new patient.

They both travel to Guatemala and provide free dental care to the Mayan people way back in the hills. These people are desperately poor and they are a full day's walk away from any dental Care. Imagine that you or your child had a horrific toothache and needed to have a tooth pulled and were faced with a full day's walk. And there's no Holiday inn waiting at the end of the rainbow either. I couldn't have been more pleased with what I discovered. Dr. Mohomed and staff were extrordinarily welcoming and accommodating. They treated my mother like she was their own. Unfortunately, before the final dentures were complete, COVID happened. In addition, my mother fell and shattered her femur, ending up in a nursing home/rehab and unable to travel to the dentist for the fitting. In one of the most selfless and compassionate acts I have seen of a medical professional, Dr. Mohomed drove to my mother's nursing home after hours to fit her dentures in her bed. She then returned to her practice to make a final adjustment before taking them back to my mother -- again personally. What a relief to my mother -- Dr. Mohomed's selfless act relieved some of the strain of my mother's difficult recovery by allowing her to eat normally again. Witnessing Dr. Mohomed's skill and compassion convinced me to switch dentists as well. I have been a patient of GGDC for years since. I will also add from personal experience that in addition to being an amazing human being, Dr. Mohomed is skilled in performing complex dental procedures. Further, her hygenist is THE most thorough in my 60+ years of dental care. Her work is simply meticulous, and never rushed! I want to be clear first, the staff here is great. Kind, accommodating, no issues at all. The…read moreassistants and hygienists who worked with me were wonderful, and I have no complaints about that. My problem is entirely with the treatment plan I received from one of the dentists. Background: I don't have great teeth, I have bone loss in the back from years of untreated MS, which kept my gums inflamed for years. Since I started treatment for that, my gum health returned, tight gums, no pain, no infections. When I came into this office for the first time, I made it clear I wasn't chasing a perfect smile. I just wanted to be able to smile again without embarrassment. The dentist's recommendation was full-arch reconstruction, top and bottom. She told me my mouth was unsalvageable. Which, was concerning, because a year prior a different office told me it was if I got my wisdom teeth out. But, I listened to her and seriously considered it. They had a full presentation ready to sell me on a complete reconstruction. "You're going to have to replace these teeth in 10-15 years anyway, so why not now?" and "I wouldn't recommend dental work here, it's a waste of time and money. You'll just pay more later to replace them." What pushed me from being just concerned about what I was being told, to actually upset, came the next week while I was getting a cleaning done. The dentist came in during the cleaning to ask if I'd decided to replace my teeth yet. I thought that was strange. Very. I decided to go back to an ortho I had seen about a year prior who told me he could do the work. This time, he spoke to the dentist that had just recommended full reconstruction and he wasn't willing to go against the dentist recommendation. But, then he said, "If you really don't want to give up, go talk to a periodontist." So I did. The periodontist went into great detail. My teeth are not great (admittedly so,) but they're not anywhere near full reconstruction. I have great bone health in the front, the back needs work (from loss), and my gums are completely healthy. He showed me the bone loss on the imaging, walked me through everything. I walked into his office with no hope, because of what I was told before, and walked out with a lot more. What bothered me the most here, other than the sales pitch, was that the dentist who recommended this never actually tested my teeth's health. She went off the X-Rays alone, which to be fair, shows my mouth in worse shape than it really is. The periodontist went through and tested each individual tooth, and recommended dental work, approved ortho, and helped me organize a plan to actually fix them. I will say, it bothered me that St. Mary's Dental cancelled all of my upcoming appointments after I sought out a second opinion. I certainly didn't ask them to do that. Because, while I was annoyed, I understand why stuff like this happens. All that just to say, it doesn't matter how good a dentist is, they can make mistakes. If you get a diagnosis like this, definitely get a second opinion.

There was a lot of work to do, but he made it absolutely stress-free working on my fillings and crowns. After he left the dental clinic that he was working at and until he opened his own practice I remained completely dentist-less. I did go to a dentist once but it was a mediocre experience, and I would never go there again. Couple months later I found Dr. Yazdan's clinic on Google Maps and was so relieved that my dentist problems are over! Even though he is located way further from me than the clinic he used to work at, I'd rather drive to his clinic than go to somebody I don't trust.
