Prices were reasonable and there was a fun spirit in the air with free Santa rides on a Gator and trailer weaving its way around the market. The market is open until noon. The only surprise was the strawberry. I thought I was choosing a classic strawberry cheesecake based on the glaze, but it turned out to be more of a jalapeno strawberry with a spicy glaze. This was completely my fault for not asking, because the staff is very open and willing to explain any flavor. I am interested to see what other options rotate through the menu and will definitely stop by again the next time I am in Lafayette.

This morning I show up and one of the workers, black lady wearing a black shirt with black-and-white spandex, along with a thinner, black male wearing all black standing outside the front door and instantly start coughing. Then she goes inside (she is an employee ) as I approach, he goes to his black Chevy truck and the overwhelming smell of marijuana hits me like a wall. Total disregard for anyone especially customers. I get it that we all have bad habits but stand at the entrance of a prominent business and smoke your marijuana ???? go in the back or in your vehicle or somewhere else just because you have a vice not everyone else wants to smell your problem. I will not eat at a place that has this type of activity because who knows what could happen.

My favortie hands down are the breakfast burritos (ham, sausage, egg, cheese and hashbrowns in a tortillia) and the bigger than a dinner plate apple fritters. Seriously, these apple fritters are ginormous and are nice and crispy outside and warm and fluffy inside. Delicious breakfast offerings and a great friendly atmosphere ensures Jak's will be on my regular rotation.
