Wish I could give this bakery ZERO stars. The elderly blonde lady, who I am assuming owns the bakery is beyond rude. I am probably the most polite person on the earth, and the few times I have went to this establishment she has just been plain rude. NO IDEA WHY??? Literally answering the phone while I'm ordering without warning. Or another time when I went through their drive thru, I had a medium sized order, maybe 3 dozen donuts, and she literally was like "why didn't you just get down to order?" WHAT!??? Why have a drive thru if I can't go thru it??? I was taken back honestly. Besides the horrible customer service, the baked goods are simply just not good. They maybe have a selection on 10-15 baked good options. I promise you, the few good reviews I'm seeing are probably from their family and friends. Last thing is there is NO COVID 19 SAFTEY ENFORCED HERE. They do not require customers to wear masks, the people SERVING you are not masked up and I also saw no gloves being used. 10/10 never going again. Try it for yourself if you don't believe me. I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but the way I was treated this last time going there was unacceptable. I was a big fan of the bakery when it was in Breaux Bridge. I grew up around this bakery and the family that owns it. On our vacations back home I always get cookies for my stay then leave with cookies for the trip home...boxes of cookies! Now the bakery is in Henderson and run by the son, which I think could be the 4th generation. This location is a little out of the way for us. On my last trip, I went for cookies as usual. They are still just as wonderful as always. There were two women working in the bakery on this trip. The older woman helped me. She was stressing when I asked her for a box then stressing when there was too much for the box. I then asked her to get a second box. I thought she could be the owner's wife stressing about the boxes. We filled that box too! I then wanted two chocolate eclairs and asked for a small box for those... oops. These were going to be in the car for a while which is why I asked for boxes. I paid and when I got into the car, I had creme puffs instead of chocolate eclairs which they did exchange. I just found this place and Its great! Everything I tried was so good and they had a nice variety of items to choose from. The baklava was to die for. The employees were helpful and cheerful and made me feel right at home. I would definitely recommend a stop here for the travelers if you arent lucky enough to live nearby. Just bought a lemon meringue pie from Champagne's. The meringue has bits and hunks of sugar in it, very grainy, entirely too sweet. Plus, it was not browned in the oven long enough therefore the meringue is sticky, not light and fluffy. They used a frozen pie shell instead of making it. The lemon filling is a gel filling from a can. I was expecting a real LM pie from a bakery not a fake one. read more
