The trip takes about 2 hours if the river is flowing fast but in Aug 2021, the river was super low and they said that it was taking folks 3-5 hours. You leave your car at the take-out and they shuttle you up. I only had 2 hours. I called and they left a kayak out for me at the Dundas take-out. In the morning, I paddled up river to the Cannon River Wilderness Area (I'd guess 2 miles) and then paddled back to the take-out. It was really pretty. It is all trees along this section of river. I saw lots of birds. I think the part in the wilderness area is even nicer so do the 7-mi trip if you have time. If you do the trip when the river is low, make sure to take shoes for walking in the river. You'll need to get out and drag the boat sometimes. So like tennis shoes not flip flops. The owner was super nice and helpful on the phone.

The snowshoe hike was moved near Northfield, MN and alot more hills and climbing than expected. However, we did get a great view of the ice caves. Also, the sandwiches and soup was delicious. At the end, we had a nice winetasting before heading back home. Our guides were the best and made everyone felt at ease without pushing too hard.

While waiting I received a quote, dang... expensive. I really love my old bike and have a new gravel bike I like and had to think. There was no pressure to say yes, they did not even try to upsell me a new bike. Im glad I had them work on it, it rides as smooth and free as ever. I did still have an issue with the front derailleur which was addressed promptly. Overall I had a great experience with the service dept as they went above and beyond any expectations I had. He made a trip to the back, basically told one employee to F-off and took a "measurement" of the thread pitch. Came back out and I asked if he looked to see if there was one in the back. I've been an REI guy for years. Every time I go to this location I end up regretting it. It's nearly impossible to get any help unless you mill aimlessly around the store for 40 minutes and hope that you can catch someone's notice. On floor sales staff spend their time walking between various products and complaining about the fabric texture. When I approach them, with eye contact, to ask if they've got a size available for a pair of pants, they scamper away like frightened deer. To add insult to injury, on my way out after giving up, their register staff apparently finds it appropriate to take the opportunity to heckle me when I inform them I can't get any help from anybody and therefore won't be buying anything. Beyond insulting. You can legitimately get better general selection, service and prices at Dick's, Eddie Bauer or any other specialty store. Don't waste your time.
