They are always nearby to help with a question or to try on a pair, but you never feel like they are hovering or trying to push you toward something more expensive. I bought a pair of shoes a few days ago even though the salesperson unknowingly gave me a gut punch when they said "my dad loves these". Despite nearby chain stores and internet sales, they have endured for over 70 years. The prices are a little on the high side, but the personal touch you get makes it well worth it to me.
