Years ago, I was invited by clients who are long standing members for tennis and lunch. For the social contacts and friends, I subsequently was sponsored and offered membership. The restaurant is exclusive to members. The menu is limited with mostly popular items of soup, salad, sandwiches, pasta and occasionally a special of the day of a meat or fish. All the meals I've had were good, not phenomenal. Special requests to diet preferences makes the kitchen staff accommodating. The dining room and the entire facility is very dated and needs major upgrade. Tennis is one of my favorite sports and I like meeting up with friends here. We like the privacy aspect. There are other tennis courts in Beverly Hills: La Cienega, Roxbury Park which are open to public but do not offer privacy; anyone can see you while you're playing and even enter your court space. La Cienega tennis courts are cool, but it's on a public park and a super busy street which attracts so many transients, mentally ill and homeless that sometimes are bold, brazen and will harm people for money. Here, at the BHTC the privacy aspect and some degree of peace is what you pay for along with excellent service. When this club was originally built, it was more private. Over the years, condos and apartment buildings adjacent to the club were built and some overlook the tennis courts and the pool area...NOT happy with gawkers! Some netting and trees were placed but cannot completely block their view...ugh! With the creepy gawkers and dated interiors, this club could have earned a stellar 5 star. Because I enjoy the social aspect with other members and the great service from the staff, I will generously rate it with 4.

You can reserve a court through the LA Department of Recreation and Parks (laparks.org) for just $6-$12 depending on how long you want to play... super easy and affordable. My one watch-out would be that they fill up quick, so make sure you reserve as early as possible. This park has 10 reservable courts, including 4 pro courts designed for lessons or live ball. If those aren't being used, you can usually hop on them too. It's a peaceful neighborhood with a dedicated parking lot, but even if that fills up, there's plenty of street parking nearby. All around, one of the best public tennis options in the city. Highly recommend.

Courts were free for the time being, and is first come, first served. Courts were in fair shape slightly dusty but overall in good shape. I demo'ed an expensive new racket here which I decided to buy afterward. I told the owner that I loved the settings on the demo racket. The owner then told me that the string tension on the demo is 52lbs, so i said "perfect, that sounds good, the demo felt great" I picked up my brand new, restrung racket yesterday. What he failed to mention is that the demo was strung months ago and now has a tension of 40lbs. My racket played so differently from the demo that I called to check if this was the case. Upon confirming that it indeed was, the owner, rather than admitting he'd made a mistake, told me it was my fault and said it'd be full price of materials and labor to string it again to match the demo, which is what I'd asked for originally. So my experience with Xisle is leaving totally dissatisfied after having spent $350. I would recommend going somewhere more knowledgeable or at least to someone willing to admit they've wronged a customer. It's really a poor way to conduct business.

Plummer Park has plenty of open green space with picnic tables throughout for dining or playing board games. Some of the amenities are Tennis Courts with an on-site Tennis Center, several Basketball Courts, a Community Center with an on-site staff, and Fiesta Hall, which is a small auditorium. The park is currently under renovation while adding Pickleball Courts. I feel sorry for the neighbors across the street that have to listen to the annoying sounds of pickleball. There's updated lighting, signage, and furniture throughout the park. At the time of this review, I'm not sure what other renovations are planned. Every Monday there is an open-air Farmers Market. There are about 30 vendors and it's a bit on the pricey side. This market definitely needs a refresh; many of the same farmers/vendors for years. There is plenty of free parking on both ends of the park. The City of West Hollywood does a good job of keeping the park clean and safe. You'll usually see Security Ambassadors in and around the park all day. Plummer Park is definitely family and dog friendly. Blessed to have this jewel close to my home.
