Pickleball courts are more makeshift from a tennis court so lines can get be confusing with different colors. I wish the benches were on both sides of the court to use depending on where the shade is during day play... or add an umbrella type overhang over the benches. And now due to pickleball surge, there are more pickleball courts dedicated to people for the next 3 months: Tennis Court #1: This is the new location for pickleball courts 1, 2, 3 and 4. 4 pickleball courts are dedicated for reservations. Tennis Court #8: This is the new location for pickleball courts 5, 6, 7 and 8. 4 pickleball courts available for reservations, and the continued location for pickleball classes and lessons through Beverly Hills Tennis. Tennis Court #12: This is the new location for tennis ball machine rentals. Tennis Courts #13-#14: These courts are now dedicated for tennis play. I grew up playing here as a child and didn't return until I was in my 20's. Overall, the courts are really nice to play on and there is plenty of room to move around off of them. Everything is kept nice and clean, which is always a relief when playing. Most courts in and around LA are a little worn down but these are always kept in the best shape! Parking is free and it is definitely a plus since it is shaded and out of the sun. The markers on the top are a plus too because they let you know which spots are available before you reach them so you aren't driving around for too long looking for a spot! The men in the Proshop are super nice and helpful. I needed a specific bag and I searched all of Los Angeles for it for weeks. They were the only ones that had it & they even saved it for me! This made me so happy! The only negative thing about this place is the woman at the front office. She is an absolute DISASTER to deal with. She treats you like you are a peasant and that you are not worthy enough to play there. I don't know what her problem is. She makes me feel as if I do not belong and that's unfortunate because little does she know, I have given them plenty of money throughout the years. If someone were to kick her out, I would instantly give a 5-star. read more

Decent public facility that appeared to be reasonably well maintained. The front desk was a little disorganized, but we got to our reserved court on time. By having a strict reservation system they avoid the classic public court problem of impatient newcomers that are eager to shoo you off your court. Huge parking garage under the courts and a locker room/bathroom. Not glamorous, but better than any public facility in San Francisco, though maybe the soon-to-be-redone GG courts will compete. read more

We have played at several public courts in LA and have given up on the free courts. The time wasted waiting or going super early cuts into our recreation time and we end up giving up and not playing. It's worth the $12 per hr fee to reserve a court especially at Beverly Hills Tennis . There are other public courts you can pay for but the court quality and ease of parking are no where near as good. The staff are friendly and have adhered to the LADPH recommendations for covid safety which I entirely appreciate. The courts are free of leaves and are clean. The lights at night are also well lit. The last two courts at the bottom are not great, has some superfluous lines for classes I imagine. Parking is also free and abundant. Making a reservation online is easy. Overall a great and consistent court. They seem to offer instruction as well although I have not tried any of them. There are sometimes a select few patrons who are more rowdy and in once instance brought a loud wireless speaker to play music. But overall most everyone is respectful and adheres to COVID safety. read more

I LOVE this place. Pretty blue and green tennis courts, a really comfy and classy waiting area, friendly and talented staff, lots of classes (great leagues and camps for jrs.), pros, usta tournaments, great pro shop, and I didn't even mention the convenience of the free parking lot underneath the courts. The courts are also all facing in the correct direction and are full sized. Bathrooms are nice and clean :) Only a few caveats, as nothing is perfect, it can get sunny on these courts as there is little shade. Bring a hat and sunglasses during the day and don't forget to apply lots of sunscreen. The outside water fountain water isn't that great (warm water). The best fountain is inside near the pro shop (nice and cold and water comes out high). Beverly Hills Tennis is everything a tennis center should be! read more

Best tennis courts! Best instructors! The best! Doesn't get any better. There is free parking available. They have a proshop with drinks, snacks, food, rackets, tennis wear, etc. Courts are amazing, really well kept. I take the adult group classes- I take a few each semester. My favorite instructors are Drew, Sean and Josh. This place is my second home! Love! Beverly Hills residents get a discount- I think around $9 for an hour of tennis. Non-residents if I'm not mistaken is $12 an hour. Must book in advanced by calling or online. read more

Courts are spacious and well maintained. Lighting at night isn't so great. We typically try to book mornings. The pricing is a bit higher than other places but to be expected in Beverly Hills. Parking is great. The lot under the facility is free and wide open during the earlier weekend hours. Would not know about other times. Been coming here for about 4 years now and never had any issues with the lady who handles reservations like the other reviewers. He has an incredible eye for identifying and communicating the mechanics that will improve your game. He's super nice too! BHT offers a variety of popular classes and a great Kid's Camp. A private vendor runs the pro shop and they are fabulous-very professional and sensitive to the needs of the customer. Courts are clean and well lighted. Environment is clean and safe. Have had all good experiences here -- except for the time some teen smashed a volley at my neck :) Ice is available here... Booking a court is straightforward and easy. Parking is easy. The prices aren't crazy. The staff is friendly, and seems on top of things. And there's even a day camp for kids (half or full day) that is getting thumbs up from my representative. Came here to play a tournament. (And I won!) It was my first time playing on these courts, and I thought they were pretty good. Clean courts, nets are the correct height and tight, and fence on all four sides. What more could you ask for? I played on court 7, court 13, and court 16. Court 7 was really nice. We were right next to the main walkway, so spectators had an easy view of our match. It helped me because I play better when there are spectators, even if they are cheering for the other side. Courts 13 and 16 were so-so. These were corner courts right off Gregory and people couldn't watch us play. Court 13 was pretty dirty with ball fuzz clumps, but otherwise okay. Court 16 was on the corner of Gregory and La Cienega, so it was hard hearing each other. Luckily, we didn't have score disputes, so it was fine. We laughed about it. The only gripe I have...the benches! There is only one bench per court, which is pretty uncomfortable if you're playing an unpleasant player...you have to share the bench. I would prefer benches on opposite sides. Or at least two benches. The bathrooms are super clean. There is parking underneath the courts, but on weekends it's pretty tight. Huge cars would inconsiderately park in two spots. I drive a Honda del Sol and I had trouble, so I don't know what normal-sized car people do. read more

I take lessons here from 2 pros and it's such a great place! Everyone is so great!! BUT people need to understand that the court reservation desk is run by the city not the tennis shop! So don't complain on here because it gives the pro shop a bad name. I want to give Hally Cohen a big 2 thumbs up for being a kick ass director. I was disappointed and disgusted with the staff.It was my first day playing at these courts and my friends and I walked in to claim the appointment for a court we previously made two days before. As wee were walking to the court the staff was giving us looks left and right.I realized they did not do this to the other people around us and it made my group feel uncomfortable and uneasy like we did not belong. I admit it - I'm a tennis nut! It didn't start that way. Like most of us...I played in high school and then pretty much abandoned my racket in my parents garage alongside my dusty old yearbooks when I flew the coop for college. But gyms aren't my bag and I thought I'd try and find a way to have fun while I worked out. Wasn't sure how to get back in. I mean, you can't exactly play alone! So a quick google search and I found the BH Tennis Center website and signed up for my first clinic. That was 2 years ago and perhaps it would be too romantic of me to just say...They had me at hello...but they kinda did! Several clinics later, I've built up a slew of tennis friends (all at my level, which is key). I've taken privates, played on teams, USTA Leagues, Tourneys (Tournaments, for the newbies), and still occasionally drop into occasional clinics. But best of all, we've put together our own weekly group that gets together for fun play throughout the week and weekends. Sorry, I'm digressing here. The point of this review was to be about BHTC. Basically, we call it "The Club". Clearly, it 's not. These are public courts, people. Anyone can reserve courts (get yourself a card for ease and if you live in BH, you actually get a few bucks off the court fees and can book courts - just call in - up to 7 days in advance). But the organization, the pros, the pro shop and the feeling up there (it's above a big parking lot - I'm sure you've all driven by it a million times - at the corner of Olympic on La Cig (that's what all the cool cats are calling La Cienega, by the way) is just very "club" like. Not in the sense that it's exclusive - exactly the opposite actually. I've found all the people up there to be really friendly. And the people aren't just Beverly Hills people - they're from all over LA. I know a bunch of people who even drive from the valley?! Don't get me wrong, don't show up and expect to just find someone to hit with (this isn't a golf course!), but you can very easily meet people and those people are pretty much always looking to play...so you can built up a network pretty quickly! The main one on La Cig (you're learning, right?) is pretty big - 16 courts. Bathrooms are slightly above a public park restroom...but you've come to play tennis, not primp! But there are 4 more courts at the Roxbury Park (further West on Olympic), if that's easier for you. At the La Cig one, don't be confused by the parking (it was a bit intimidating the first time). You enter the parking lot from La Cig (headed South ONLY - there's a median and you can't turn in from the Northbound lanes). Grab your ticket and park (it's like most public BH lots - its free for the first 2 hours...but in 2 years of playing, I've only once been actually charged for going over the 2 hours - so don't worry about that). Walk to the South side of the lot and you'll see to the left a small opening in the gate - make a quick right and around a corner you'll see the stairs that lead you up. At the top of the stairs make a left and there's the court attendant to book/pay/get your courts. You can also rent ball machines up there too (although I've never done that). The pro shop is small, but has the immediate necessities...cold water, overgrip, powerbars, etc... as well as standard pro-shop fare: clothes, rackets, stringing and snacks for those really crazy days! The "club" arranges tournaments every few months too (check out the website for details) - so you can seriously work out your competitive needs! I mean let's just be honest, if you're an adult playing tennis, you're competitive, right? I am giving BH tennis center a one star not because the tennis center it self but because my past three experiences, not so pleasant. The courts are great, the amenities are great! I live right across the street from BH tennis center been going for the past two years, but my last few visit have been very disappointing. I can't tell you how many times I called the office to make a reservation or ask a question and no one picked up the phone in the office. I called the pro shop to tell them that no one was picking up and could you get me someone, the young girl on the phone would say, yes I will tell someone up there and transfer you." I was transfered and yet again no one picked up the phone. The women that works during the evening when you sign in to your court is extremely RUDE. I actually called when I was out front of the office window and she was just sitting there letting the phone ring ignoring it. After I hung up I mentioned why didnt you pick up the phone, she said she was busy. I was standing right there and she was saying she was busy, I couldn't believe that. I have actually made wagers with friends that when we wanted to play that the person in the office won't pick up the phone, never does, Let me tell you, the first year I was going here was perfect, I didn't have any problems or issues, but within this last year I have had bad experiences and HORRIBLE customer service. The pro shop: I get me my racquet strung here all the time. I remember when the pro shop before it got all redone and now looks great but ever since the reconstructed the pro shop it was like we might as well be BH snooty and rude. One morning I walked in to get my racquet re-strung like I usually do and I waited right in front of the desk patiently while the young girl was on the phone. There was a tennis pro to her right, my left and after she got off the phone she started talking to him about nonsense, nothing tennis related or professional related. I was like "excuse me..." and she looked at me with this look with her eyebrows up and she seemed like I was being rude to her. I waited there for at least 2 minutes(I didn't think 1 min was enough OMG) before she realized I was standing right in front of her. She asked what strings I normally get and I said it should be in the system I always get the same one, a two combination of strings. In the past they could do it by the end of the day upon request, as of late they have been telling me they can no longer do it within the day and it take 3--5 days. how long does it take to string a racquet now I asked, and I received the same answer as like in the front outside window,"We are busy." She said she would call me when finished. Of course I never have received a phone call EVER when my tennis racquet has been finished. I have always had to check in. After a few days I pick up my racquet and the strings are wrong. The same girl as before says, 'oh I am sorry would you like for us to do it again." And I had plans to play that morning so of course I couldn't . She told me I could try them out and if I didn't like I could bring back and get it restrung. So I was like ok. I played with it and it was ok and I just didn't want to go back and go through all of that especially when I play 2-3 times a wk. My next visit (which was my last) pretty much the same experience I told her exactly what strings I wanted and she wrote it down. I picked up my racquet and it was some blue wilson very thick gut. I hate the strings they put on it and after this screw up I will never go back. I have not only been paying for stings I am not ordering and they expect me to keep coming back and forth to get the strings I want right. First of all, they should get the strings right the first time and I should be treated with some care, just a little bit. It just seemed like the continual bad experiences with the people that work at BH tennis center and the bad service. I don't care all GREAT your amenities, offers, and courts are especially when the people that work there are rude and don't treat you with respect. I no longer go here and like I said before been going here for the past two years I was bringing a lot of business with my friends and acquaintances here, spreading the word about BH tennis center. Now I have told everyone not to go and anyone that mentions it I say sorry but there these other courts in Hollywood...well let's go there. read more

This place is freakin awesome..The best and most beautiful tennis courts in LA! In 2007 I was looking for a way to get back into tennis after playing back in the day in high school, and came across their clinics. I signed up, and never looked back. The instructors there are all great teachers, fun and friendly with lots of personality. After going there regularly, it's easy to meet people to play with and feels very much like a small community, a "club" even. The courts are beautiful (did i say that already?), extremely well-maintained and very well-lit. Well worth the newly raised price of $11/hr on nights and weekends for non BH residents (slightly cheaper on weekdays). I would definitely recommend paying $15 for the membership card to be able to make reservations, these courts fill up quickly even though there are so many. There's also a pro shop and locker rooms, pretty much everything you need is here, including plenty of free parking in the structure. I can't say enough good things about BH Tennis! read more

My son, 4 yo, took group tennis lessons here for one session with Coach Josh. He was GREAT! It was our first experience with tennis and the class (though registered full) was never really full. It was obviously better when not all of the kids were there since tennis is such a one on one sport. When there were more kids in class, there was more waiting between turns. (A little hard for 4-5 year olds.) There was one week when we had a substitute teacher and that was a bit of a disaster. He clearly had NO clue how to teach such young children. He had the kids trying to do skills that were clearly beyond them. So I'd say the quality of the lessons really depends on the coach. Go observe a lesson (taught by the coach you're signing up with) before committing if you can. Also, they canceled two lessons back to back due to a tournament and we got basically no notice. (The coach came running after us in the parking garage after a lessons to tell us about it.) They also tried to insist that the refund for the two lessons be given as a store credit (which I had refused to do by talking to the manager). A little shady and unprofessional if you ask me. Facilities wise, this place is great. Doesn't seem like public courts at all. Very clean, well-kept courts. Kiddo tip: I brought my 1 yo daughter a couple times to watch/wait for her brother. There's room to let your little ones run around a bit while your big kid is in lessons. The parking lot is free (with validation, no ticket required on weekends) and downstairs from the courts. There is an elevator in the building if you're coming with a stroller. read more
