I would smile be friendly, what I received in return was luke-warm polite. Then one day I decided to try this little shop on Battery Street. They are busy, but they had a way of joking and making me feel like they are glad to have me there. I LOVE my glasses and the lens they recommended. I recommend this shop without reservation.

Having found Eyes of the World to have good Yelp reviews, I decided to check them out to get my very old glasses script updated. After the exam, I told the optometrist that I really like things super clear, despite her reluctance to bump me up by so much in each eye. She did, though, against her better judgment, and I went home with my crystal clear new script. A week and a half later now, I still haven't adjusted to the new script and I'm getting headaches. I go back in, totally ready to shell out for another set of lenses (it was my own dang fault that I overrode medical advice) and the optometrist refused to let me pay for the replacement lenses. Cost of doing business, she says, and wouldn't let me pay for the replacements despite repeated insistence. In the immediate term, they earned a big bag of thank-you cookies from a local bakery. In the long term, they won the total loyalty of an appreciative customer. I'm deeply impressed by their customer care, their knowledge of vision care, and their unfailing friendliness. I wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend them to anyone needing new lenses, new frames, and/or eye exams.

A very nice communicative employee (I wish I knew the name) greeted us. There was an older gentleman also in the store and this employee was helping him. All of the sudden one of the optometrists jumps out from her exam room and yells, degrades, and humiliates the employee who greeted us . She said that the employee was rude to the older gentleman that was there. Her voice was loud and so demeaning. No way to treat any human. After the whole scene settled, the employee apologized to us for mean girl's behavior. We told the employee that we were sorry that she was treated like that and it was unacceptable etc. As we were telling the employee how awful it was that she was treated so poorly (and the employee kept defending the mean girl), mean girl busts into the showroom again and yells at us for defending the employee. My wife said to her that she could have taken her aside and quietly discussed any concerns. To that, mean girl said to my wife, "I don't give a f*ck what you think." I am so in shock that we were verbally attacked by an optometrist! The nice employee again defends her. She also said that the doctors don't work for Lens Crafters so it shouldn't be a reflection. Well it is. Anyway, we again told the employee we are so sorry that she has to endure this abuse on the regular and we left. We will never buy anything from Lens Crafters again. We thought we were on What Would You Do. I was waiting John Quinones to come out from behind!

This My Eye Doctor was EXCELLENT ! Although, parking is somewhat strenuous and complicated, their doctors and personnel are excellent. I appreciated the professionalism and expertise of the older doctors and fitters of eyeglasses. Having been there twice, l was not so impressed with the younger people who received customers behind their counter. They were impersonal and cool, treating potential clients very blandly and impersonally. The second location, Williston, VT, l only had telephone contact trying to make an appointment for my son who was working at the time. The young lady refused to allow me to make an appointment for him and promised to send me the permission forms acknowledging HEPA rules. They never came. I object to this LACK of professionalism and follow-through by the receptionist !! My son needs to see an Eye doctor, but he is crippled and cannot navigate the parking problems with Burlington location . If this receptionist employed by the Williston, VT location My Eye Doctor, would keep her promise to send the permission form , l would be able to make an appointment for him. So, this Williston, VT My Eye Doctor location, does NOT get a favorable review ; but the Burlington, VT , does.

At my last appointment 2 months ago, the technician skipped some of the usual pre-tests I've always gotten (example the machine that does the peripheral vision test) and when I asked why, she said "it takes too long." What??? Isn't that why I'm here and what I'm paying for?? For the first time in years, the optometrist wrote bad prescriptions. He made drastic changes to both eyes seemingly without reason. After the exam, there was high pressure from the salespeople to buy glasses and contacts from them that same day. When I told them I wanted to wait and make sure the sample contacts were good before ordering a year's supply and they didn't have the glasses frame I wanted so I planned to order somewhere else, the sales lady immediately got a bad attitude. I was really shocked! The sample contacts I was given turned out to be terrible... I couldn't even see the dashboard on my car. The glasses prescription was also way off and worse than the existing glasses I'd worn for 2 years that were fine other than some scratches from wear. When I called to report the bad prescriptions, it took another 2 weeks to get a follow up appointment. At the follow up appointment, the optometrist didn't even test my eyes again, he just told me he didn't have the right contacts in stock the first time and had given me some that were "close" and said he'd order the right ones this time. He put my glasses prescription back to what it originally was, but blamed the lens maker, not his prescription for the bad vision with the new glasses. It took another week for the supposedly correct sample contact to come in, but they weren't any better when I tried them...still fuzzy vision. When I compared the old and new prescriptions, there were still changes made without reason, when I could see better with the old prescription. I called back THREE TIMES OVER TWO WEEKS trying to get the prescription fixed again and each time was told by the receptionist that someone would call me back. Each time, THEY NEVER CALLED BACK!! At the end of two weeks, I called again and demanded a refund for what I paid and for whatever they charged my insurance. Again, was told by the receptionist that someone would call me back. 3 days later... still no call back! I had to file a dispute with my credit card company and insurance company to get my money and benefits back. I will NEVER come to this optometrist again and DO NOT recommend them anymore. They are clearly overbooking since they don't have time to do full exams and only seem to care about selling glasses and contacts after the exam... even if the prescriptions are wrong. Now I have to wait another two months for an appointment with another optometrist since everyone is booking out months for new patients, and I'm stuck with old scratched up glasses and having to wear my old contact lenses for months longer than they're supposed to last. Stay away from this corporate practice and find a local business that appreciates their patients and returns phone calls.
