Was sick most of the week. So late birthday present. The fair!!! So much to do. Rides, games, food, exhibits, and animals. I was in heaven with the animals. Got to milk a cow~bucket list item check! Played with a calf. Laid around with some cows. Saw chicks hatching. Ate greasy over prized fair food. Had a maple shake. What a great day! You got to go! Great fun for everyone!

Really long wait to park. Grandstand concert acoustics were terrible. Enjoyed the band but won't return to this venue.

The Intervale is the best thing about Burlington, Vermont. I know, bold statement, but I assure…read moreyou that there are many who would argue in my favor. I first visited the Intervale on a walk with my dog. This large piece of property that lies right along the edge of the city is divied up and made available for people to rent affordably and use for farming. The farms that are at the Intervale are able to share large pieces of equipment and resources and practice sustainably, while contributing to the community in a major way. They make locally grown food accessible to the community through the Gleaning and Food Rescue program, which supplies free fresh veggies to income eligible residents and the Intervale Food Hub's farm shares, which vary in size and can be purchased seasonally. The Intervale helps people to focus on the soil and our interaction with the earth and educates the public on how we all can live more sustainable lives. They offer a composting program, The Abenaki Heritage Garden, and a Conservation Nursery. There are also a number of trails to walk and bike and a river to relax by. They have plenty of community events that encourage the viability of agriculture and promote community engagement with food systems Weather you're going to boogie down at Summervale, a Thursday night music and food ritual that The Intervale and a number of local vendors orchestrate each summer or just go snowshoeing by the river on a still evening in January, The Intervale will quicky become your sanctuary. It is a reminder of the beauty in the world and the importance of getting our hands dirty and providing the source for food that we eat. We are so fortunate to have such a place and if you have an opportunity to enjoy it, I encourage you to do so; your soul will be grateful.

So I have never gone into a goodwill before but i have to say that i was pleasantly surprised…read moreoverall. It was very well layed out. The staff was friendly. I didn't browse through any of the aisles, just dropped off donations. What I did find minorly confusing and wasn't much of an inconvenience, was the fact that the donation dropoff center area which the main entrance was located outside the building (I didn't know this upon entering), was closed. I heard that you can ask for a donation slip to report to taxes, which isn't like a super major big deal to me, but that's something nice if you are looking to get some of it written off. I ended up just handing the bags to the attendant and that was that.

Today I found a picture I liked priced at $25. the frame was badly damaged and taped to hold it together. The picture had slipped down so you would have to get a new frame. Or I guess you could open it, tape the photo in and then tape the frame again. But this would likely fall off the wall. The manager would only come down $5. He was nasty and said someone else will buy it why should I reduce it for you. So he basically was saying he could rip someone else off if not me. You would not believe how high priced these items are. If you are low income, you can't shop here. High priced junk.
