Went in with my boyfriend to buy Adidas Ultra Boost in all black. There were 2 models out on the floor with tags on them for $59.99. We got his size, tried them on and went to check out. They came up as $159.99. We told the sales associate that this shoe was listed on the display for $59.99, and even showed her. She got her manager and he said they could not honor this, even after seeing the shoes on the display shelf marked at $59.99. I felt this was very poor customer service, since it was obviously their mistake that they were mis-labeled in the first place. This is false advertisement. The very least they could have done was offered a coupon or discount for the inconvenience, but nothing was offered to us. read more

So today I came here to return these shoes my boyfriend literally got delivered to him today. Some 350s boost, well he tried them on and they didn't fit. Literally just did a walk through around the house, didn't go outside nothing. Had the confirmation email that it got delivered today an all! So we were going to the mall regardless so we decided to return them in store. Well let me tell you the cashier KASSIE was a complete you know what from the moment we stepped up. She saw us waiting cause the other girl was taking care of someone and she just stands there ignoring us while we wait to be helped with our return. Then she finally decides she ready to take us after like a minute of standing there. She gives us a dirty look and calls us over, no hi, how are you nothing just a HUGE attitude right from the start, which blows my mind if you don't like the customer service industry or your not a people person than take your butt behind a desk or somewhere else that doesn't involve being the face of a company. So anyways she opened the box gave us ANOTHER dirty look and was like these were worn. And my boyfriend was so thrown off cause he just got them and he's super nice, I'm the more aggressive one, so he was like I have the email that shows they were delivered today and all that so he pulls it up and holds it up to her. this girl rolls her eyes and doesn't even look at his phone that hes tryin to show her. She was just so completely rude. I was blown away. Looking like we were trying to pull a fast one or something. At this point shes acting like shes not gona take them back so I step in, and she calls a manager over Taylor who handled the situation very well. She was very friendly and super nice. But at this point I'm annoyed cause this Kassie girl is holding the shoe up like it's some bums shoe with the nastiest look on her face. So I grabbed the other shoe and wipe the bottom of it with my sweater and I'm like omg this is ridiculous they are perfectly fine. It was like dust, nothing like pebbles from outside or anything. And Taylor was like it's fine don't worry and took over and gave us our return. So thank you Taylor for stepping in and handling the situation like someone should. Kassie on the other hand definitely needs an attitude adjustment. I understand people have bad days but the way she looked at us right when we stepped up and the way her whole demeanor was, was like we were the scum of the earth bothering her. Definitely won't be back. There is way to much competition out there to be having unfriendly people working for you that make you lose business. Smh read more

I was very impressed with Champs Sports. I came here to do an exchange for a hat that was given to me as a present that was too small. The entire staff was friendly and super helpful. I was greeted upon entry and offered help which I gladly took as I figured I'd be in and out in just a few minutes. The hat must have been fairly popular as they were out of the one I wanted to get. This was no problem though. The staff told me the hat could be ordered and sent to my house for free if I signed up for a Champs reward thing. There was no cost to ship it to my house. I was also provided with a tracking number as I patiently awaited the arrival of the hat that would fit in the mail. The staff was very spot on for being near the Christmas season and I am very thankful for them being kind, quick acting, and helpful. This was one of the most pain free exchange experiences I've ever had. The staff knew what they were doing and how to handle the situation. The customer service here was top notch and I look forward to the next time I visit this store. read more

I had been looking for a Manny Pacquiao track jacket for quite some time, as they had all sold out on the Nike website. I heard from the Champs in the Lincolnwood Mall that Woodfield Champscarried them, so we trecked on over to get my new prized possession. To ensure that I would get my jackets, I called ahead to put 3 different kinds on hold. Upon arrival, CeCe helped me out, happily going to the back to get the jackets. She watched me try them all on, telling me her opinion on which one she looks best. CeCe also told me that they had a huge selection of Pacquiao items before his fight, and that out of all the Champs in the area, only Woodfield and Bollingbrook malls were the only ones who carried them. Visited this location to pick up a pair of shoes that they were kind enough to hold for me. The young lady I spoke to on the phone an hour before arriving seemed nice enough, and I was hoping she would help me when I arrived at the store. However, when I got there, my hopes were dashed. I walked up to the counter and told the young lady that a pair of shoes were being held for me and that I was present to pay for and pick them up. I had to repeat myself 3 times before it clicked with her. Already not good. She goes to find the young lady that helped me, and to find out where the shoes were. This took about 10 minutes. Finally, when she came back with the box of shoes, she didn't ring them up, she didn't give me the box. She flings it onto the counter behind the register while I'm still there waiting....and waiting...and waiting. Finally, another young man notices I've been standing around for a while and assists me. Guys....it shouldn't take 15-20 minutes to pick up and pay for a pair of shoes that's being held. read more

I had the mile high nachos and 5 of us were able to share that! Two of us ordered the fajita special for the night and it was pretty good. Another ordered a burger and the fries that came with it almost looked synthetic and tasted like chemicals/grease! We had the bud light beer special as well. We printed a coupon off of their website but the management was unwilling to work with us in order to use it even though we ordered a lot so that was a thumbs down. We chose to pass on desert and headed to the local melting pot instead! We were here to watch the bulls game and for some reason they wouldn't play the sound on the tv! Terrible service They only hold shoes for their friends If you see you have nice kicks they won't pay attention to you. And if you ask for a size or different pairs it's inconvenient for them. So we drove back home just to receive a call that they had the shoe size back in stock. But they lied. So we went to Foot Locker where they were 11/10 amazing. I am a head track and field college coach and I was literally disappointed with my quick experience here. Clearly....this is a "sneaker head" store. If you are a track and field/cross country runner then this is definitely not the place for you to go too or if you are an athlete period then this is not the place to go too either. I always give 4 or 5 stars on yelp so this is definitely a rarity for me. I first asked an associate there where are the running shoes on the wall. I could not believe what he said. He immediately pointed out the the few running shoes on the wall, but he then pointed out the training shoes on the wall and said "you can use these as running shoes as well." Wait...what? Huh? Wow...I could not believe what he said. Would you want your track or cross country athletes wearing stuff training shoes 10 miles a day for running. Listen up Champs...this can lead to major injuries runners wear cross training shoes as running shoes. SERIOUS INJURIES! I was really upset that he said this. Second, I did ask him what the millimeter drop was on the Pegasus. No clue...nor did another co worker knew this. I have coached several All Americans on the college level. All athletes, especially track athletes and runners, should steer clear of this place. I am only giving this place two stars because I know they are kids. But they should be trained to answer questions like these. I don't even think they know what a gait analysis is. To Champs....I worked at two excellent running specialty stores in the past. The employees are coaches or track athletes or runners. I am not saying you guys have to hire like how they hire, but it's important to have people with running backgrounds, track backgrounds, or other sports (looks like basketball is popular in there) backgrounds. Or just train them and let them know this. If a cross country athlete came in there and bought cross trainers at shoes for workouts then I would of personally came in that store and I would of been angry at someone. Just teach them what shoes are which and good for them and the basics of minimal shoes...etc. Fleet feet, Dick Pond Athletics, and Geneva Running Outfitters do an excellent job for runners and even beginner runners. They know the importance of gait, neutral vs. stability, etc. I have to admit, when the associate said "you can use cross trainers as running shoes," I was livid on the inside. I always tell my athletes in college that they need to buy there shoes at the run specialty shoes I mentioned above, but I know there will be some runners or other cross country/track athletes, that will come here and be directed to the wrong shoes. I have only ever ordered something from Champs twice in my life and both times they sent the wrong item. There is a picture of the correct item on the packing slip, so I'm not sure why it is so difficult to match the picture to the correct item in the warehouse. I then spent 50 minutes on the phone with 2 different customer service agents because they would not give me a refund until I returned the incorrect item. They wanted me to go take it to UPS and waste more of my time, which I had already wasted 50 minutes on the phone, and return it to them in order to get my money back. I was then informed that they no longer had the original item that I had ordered. So why did I not get an email or notification that the item was no longer in stock and ask me if I wanted to cancel my order or find something else? Instead, they just sent me the wrong item in the mail and expected me to pay for it. Their whole customer service is a joke and clearly in order to work for them, you need to be incompetent. read more

My son purchased a pair of shoes at Champs in Woodfield Mall. He got them home and realized they were too tight after wearing them around the house. When I returned them the store manager was extremely hard to deal with and rather threatening. I had the receipt and the unworn shoes and he wouldn't budge. I was willing to take a merchandise credit, but he wouldn't do it. I thought their customer service was very bad. I thought their attitudes were rather rude and I wouldn't buy another item in the store. BEWARE of buying anything if you are not sure, because they will not take returns. read more

I was gifted shoes for my daughter and I by my boyfriend, unfortunately they were the wrong size, the shoe ran very small. So I went to the local Champs Sports (Harlem and Irving) only to be very disappointed. The female associates (the only two associates around) who assisted me were very rude - I called in to do a product check which the lady on the phone verified to me that the particular size I needed was in fact in stock. I talk to the lady behind the register and stated I was picking up shoes that were JUST put on hold for me. She looked behind her and rolled her eyes back at me and said she had nothing on hold. I kindly repeated to her that I had phoned in and was told it was ok to come pick up the shoe. She walkies another associate who also comes from the back and says theres nothing on hold. I pulled out my phone and repeated the number I dialed and inquired if that was the store number she said yes. So I stood there for about 10 mins waiting on them to find the shoe, the 2nd girl comes back out with a smile and a box and says to me, 'oh yea these were in the back'... Hmmmm I honestly think they didnt even bother to look if it took her that long to come out with said shoe. I did my exchange and left. I still needed to find the right size shoe for my daughter so we hiked it out to Woodfield. I live in Niles. Anyways, I walked in to this store and was promptly greeted by each associate who I crossed paths with, I explain to the guy which shoe I needed but advised me he didnt have the size although he would be more than happy to order them for me and have them shipped to my home at no cost. I thought that was a very kind gesture, I chatted with him and then two other associates chimed in and we all had a pleasant conversation. It was like night and day between these two stores!!! Andrew, Enrique and Kristin were so very very helpful and I couldnt thank them enough. Hope other associates can take notes from these 3. =) read more
