Let me say this, I have lived in the Valley all my life. Yes, I am a full fledged native. The City of Chandler has rapidly grown over the years and this was my first visit to Chandler Center For The Arts. On this Saturday night the artist performing was Pat Metheney. At the onset before the performance we were told that this would be the last concert of the season. The Chandler Center is going to get a renovation and probably will not be open until late October or early November. This Center houses a large venue and on this Saturday night it was pretty much a sold out crowd. When Pat Metheney came out he didn't waste any time and just started playing. The crowd was really into the music and so was I. The place has provisions for the handicapped and does allow for drinks during the performance. I really don't know what else to add other than the place is impressive. When it opens up again in the Autumn maybe take a look at what they have in the concert venue. I guess we got lucky to attend their last concert of the season. read more

As the self-appointed king of events, I'm back at it with another venue review. I have been to the Chandler Center For The Arts twice: once for a UB40 concert and once for a screening of a Louie Armstrong documentary (live jazz ensemble included). Located in a nice part of Chandler, with lots of cool bars and restaurants within the vicinity, they do have a complimentary parking lot. For one of the events, I was able to find a spot without much trouble. For the other, I had to park on the street a few minutes away by foot. I guess it depends on how popular the event is. The venue itself is beautiful. Clean and modern with nice amenities. You get a program once you enter the theater, which I always appreciate. It's a good size-venue, but still small enough that it's intimate. My only real complaint? The seats are packed pretty close to each other, so you don't much shoulder room or leg room. A little too snug. Outside of that, and parking being a bit of a wild card, it's a phenomenal venue. read more

This is a special venue to see live performance shows! Originally built in 1989, this building went under renovations in 2019 to bring a modern look to the facility. The new exterior including floor to ceiling windows accentuates the grand entrance. On Feb 28th, we enjoyed the play "Little Women" on the 180 degree stage in the main auditorium. The theater department of Chandler High School deserves applause for this lengthy two and a half hour production. This musical sound was astounding with the acoustics and technical assistance of this theater. I often forget how incredible the Chandler Center for the Arts is for experiencing live shows. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent acoustics and the comfortable seating. This is a fantastic performing arts theatre close to home and the parking is so convenient and plentiful. I don't think there's a bad seat here. This venue has a diverse lineup of performances so anyone can find something they like. It's Stomp this afternoon and we are seated front row. I took a few pictures before the performance but they did not allow photos or video during the show. This is our third performance of Stomp having seen them at the Phoenix Orpheum Theater, and ASU Gamage. Every season they change up their show and some new performers join the company to keep you eager and entertained. If you haven't had the chance or didn't think you would enjoy a performance like this you're missing out. The ingenuity of creating the performers sounds and the percussion is some of most creative aspects of the show all in time with ingenerous choreography. I've posted details about the venue, parking in previous reviews which I won't repeat. Chandler Center for the performing Arts is a wonderful venue hosting the best shows in the east valley. We went to watch the life and music of George Michael last night here. It was an extremely entertaining show and we had a fabulous time. The venue is beautiful and huge. What really caught my attention was how plentiful the free parking was, especially disabled parking spots. It was crazy how many disabled parking spots there were! It's also definitely a plus not having to pay $40 for parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom was very clean and conveniently located. They also have a bar to get refreshments, popcorn and candy. Everything about this venue was great except for the seats. They were a bit too close to each other. read more

First time attending a venue here. I came to see The life and music of George Michael. I will say it's nice venue and good acoustics. The employees at the snack bar were nice as well as the volunteers helping you find seats. I could see the stage well even if you purchased the cheap seats. I found the seats to be quite close to each other and material of seat felt scratchy to me and maybe bc I was wearing a romper. I prefer it to be a tad bit cooler too. Overall, nice low key venue and I enjoyed the music. Just know if your tall that you won't be comfortable in your seat. It was ok for me since I'm on the shorter side. I'd still recommend if there is something you're interested in seeing in the upcoming schedule. read more

One of the best music shows I have seen in Phoenix was here a few weeks ago. I absolutely love love gypsy style guitar and my uke teacher invited me to come see the International Guitar night here and it was just so good. Chandler Center for the Arts is a nice venue with good acoustics, ample parking, central location. I liked seeing a music show here. Lulo Reinhardt was just amazing and the artists he had with him on this tour were all so different but all incredibly talented and they made music that brought me to tears. They are doing another show up in Wickenburg at the end of March and I have tickets already to see them there too. Great venue, great memories made and beautiful music that I will forever hear in my heart and soul. Thank you Chandler Center for the Arts for a night to remember. read more

I love it when I can write a five star review. I had the pleasure is seeing Boney James at this venue. He plays contemporary jazz with four exceptional band members. I know Jazz is not for everyone. What made this so special, from the beginning to the end, was the "Ritz Carlton" level customer service. They are knowledgeable, friendly with a smile, will ask if you need anything else, kindly request you follow the rules for the comfort of everyone, including you, and work as a team. Okay, back to the show. 90 minutes, no breaks, but the time goes fast. Okay, I have to mention the parking. A total nightmare. Tips: Arrive early by 45 minutes (there are restaurants nearby within walking distance), be patient. Limit your beverage consumption. Have fun. read more

In March, my family and I - 9 people, when to see China Mary. I ordered tickets back in February and there was nothing in any of the things I saw when ordering the tickets online that said the WHOLE play performance was in Mandarin. Only 1 person in our group of 9, sort of spoke Mandarin, which was my mom. Some of us spoke Cantonese, but sparingly. No Cantonese in the play. We sat through this whole 1.5 hr performance completely in Mandarin - oh, there were maybe 10 words in English. Had I not read a bit about the play, I would've not understood 1 single thing about the play. Zero subtitles. In fact, at the start, no one said that the play is in another language. I had spent over $400 for these 9 tickets. My error in that 3 of the tickets I bought from some third party and didn't realize that. That was about $250 for 3 tickets, which I thought was expensive. The other 6 tickets cost me between $150-200 and those were bought straight from Chandler Center for the Arts. Over the many years living in Chandler/Gilbert, I'd been to the CCA for a number of events and have been happy with all the events until this one. After the play, I went to the box office to share my displeasure. I didn't expect for them to refund my money. We sat through the whole performance because we thought it would make my mom happy. Some of the performance was lame, as well. They had this old guy talking, but I'm guessing he didn't speak Mandarin so they had some other voice over and the lip syncing was awful, the worst lip syncing ever. At least that kept me awake and laughing because it was so lame. Why then did I give a 5 star for this review? It's because of Ann Marie making the effort for which I had zero expectations to make this situation right for us. I just wanted to share my thoughts and she said they (CCA) did not know it was in another language. They only found this out after some people walked out. She said they could've refunded some of the money had we left part way through the performance, which we did not. Anyway, a few days later, I got an email from Ann Marie sharing that to help compensate a different way, she gave us 2 options to see another event there. One was some dueling piano and another was some mechanical bicycle thing. They were on different days and I asked my family if they wanted to see either and which. All 9 wanted to go the bicycle thing. I don't know how much the tickets cost, but the family that were able to go (some were different than those that attended China Mary) thoroughly enjoyed this makeup event. Ann Marie was so kind to get us 9 tickets, even though 3 of the tickets were bought through a third party. She didn't have to, but she did. This was super great customer service by Ann Marie and she greatly represented CCA very well. I am so thankful for her. Even though I was unable to go to the performance, the family that went loved it. Thank you, again. read more

A good venue. Saw Pink Martini there last night and the music was great, sound was great, parking easy and plentiful and the price was affordable. The only downside, and one that will keep me from going back, is the seating is horribly uncomfortable. The space between the arms is about 16", so if you have a girth of more than 15", be prepared to squeeze in. If you have a large person next to you, like I did, it is almost impossible to sit for any length of time, so be prepared. If they ever change out the seats, they should make them 22", which is normal for good theater seating. read more

Pink Martini invited audience members to come forward to dance but venue staff shut it down, requiring potential dancers to go back to their seats. I'd love to see Pink Martini again, but not at Chandler Center for the Arts. If that's its policy, did they fail to communicate that to the performers? read more

Went for the Beth Hart concert. The sound was absolutely superb. The seats, however, are really close to each other and well the sound was excellent. We hope that the seats would've been a lot closer based upon the diagram we were given. I definitely go back to hear another group but would be sure that the seating was more conducive to the experience. read more

This is my experience for my first visit at this venue. There are parking spaces in the front with several more in the back of the building. Getting in and out was so easy. Staff are amazing. Everyone was so very friendly and helpful when asked first-timer questions. The seats are quite comfortable and my knees were not scraping the seat in front of me, which is huge for those of us with longer legs. I sat towards the front but I honestly don't think there is a bad seat in the house. I saw areas up front for those who use a wheelchair and space to put walkers. There is a concession stand with a few beverage choices, including wine, and snacks. Prices were reasonable. Overall it was a great night out with nice people and amazing performers. The staff, management and volunteers help make your visit incredible - and the volunteers by far are the ones who make it stand out... not to mention the wide variety of performance artists. The Chandler Center for the Arts is in the center of the Chandler arts district, close to bistros, bars, and shops, easily accessible with convenient onsite parking. The design of the grand entrance is conducive to large numbers of people milling around, enjoying refreshments from a well-appointed and staffed bar, with the occasional entertainer memorabilia sales stations in the mezzanine. Every aspect of its interior design makes you focused on enjoyment. There are multiple venues within the center also. The Main Stage, the Hal Bogle Theatre, and a Recital Hall. As you enjoy the atmosphere and a libation, you can meander through its architectural beauty, as well as enjoy it art galleries, the Gallery at CCA and the Vision Gallery. Exceptional. We've always been impressed by the remarkable acoustics within the 1,500 seat main stage, along with its comfortable seats, make for a terrific overall experience. First time at CCFTA we went to the Nutcracker performance, wow! Easy access to venue, parking and seating. The team that assists you with finding your seat are really great. Nice and affordable concessions to enjoy before the show and at intermission. Overall very impressed with this local venue, surprised it took me so many years to attend a show here. We came here for the Australian Pink Floyd show and was super impressed. The facility was immaculate, the staff was super friendly and thanked us for visiting several times. Very nice lovely theater in the southern part of Phoenix... Chandler. We went to see a concert and the venue was warm and welcoming. I especially liked the lighting on the back curtains. My only negative comment would be, we sat in the first row (V) of the dissent into the main theater. I thought once most people were seated, that the activity and noise would settle down. Man was I wrong! As the ushers took their flashlights and people down to their seats during the opening performance, They would comment to one another how tired they were, or how difficult it was to climb the stairs. Most of the ushers were seniors and I get it; but one usher in particular spoke incredibly loud, in a above normal voice, right behind us throughout the entire 30 minute opening performance. My partner and I kept turning around to glance her way, but none of the three ushers got the message. Not only did it make me incredibly anxious, but I felt cheated since we paid for tickets. During the intermission before the main act, I thought about saying something but my other half asked me not to. Luckily, they were quieter... Somewhat... during the featured artist. The main reason I would return, Is for the acoustics and the quaint feeling inside the theater. I will certainly make sure I avoid row V and will look on the seating chart when I buy tickets more carefully. read more

The location is awesome and now that downtown Chandler is building up with businesses, and now has tons of free parking, this makes the location even more spectacular! My pals and I were here to attend a live taping of "The Price is right ". The facility is stunning! Gorgeous decor throughout, but not over done. The restrooms are clean and there is a backlit full length mirror, perfect for selfies. Parking is plentiful as well. Plus you can catch "The Wave" from any restaurant in Downtown Chandler. There is not a bad seat in the house. I've been in the front row and the back row. I'm short and have never had a problem seeing the stage. Every performance I have been to has been amazing! read more

Black Violin put in a stellar performance, it was the fastest 90 minutes of my life and I loved every minute. I will definitely return whenever this group comes back. Getting in and out of the facility was a breeze. They had snacks and beverages for purchase but by the time I went out to get popcorn they were closed. Came here to watch Beauty & The Beast, the show was very nice, there's a concession right in front and the line went smoothly, parking was quick and easy. The seats are VERY uncomfortable and small. Where we sat it was rows of 5 and all of us was very uncomfortable and squeezed in. The seats behind us the people's knees were in our heads that's how close they were. During the show I could smell a very strong odor of cigarettes and it was the seat I was on, after we left I had to go and wash my clothes and the smell stayed on me and gave me a major headache. If I was to vacation in Arizona again I'd probably not watch a show here. read more

3.5 stars. Went to the Calo Flamenco show this past Sunday, brilliantly talented company of dancers and musicians. The Center just completed a year-long renovation this May, completely refurbished all 1,500+ seats, added guardrails and orchestra level handicap-accessible seating, and enhanced their central A/C system. Nice lobby with concession stand for popcorn or drinks and one's allowed to bring them into the auditorium. Off to the right of lobby is an art gallery for viewing. Seating is laid out well and the size of venue is real good, not small nor too large. I've enjoyed my visits here. read more

Beautiful venue. Have been twice now, it's very lovely and clean and an intimate experience, even with 1500 people in the main venue. It can really rock when the crowd is into the performance. Pretty easy to get to, parking is on-site and not a big hassle. There are good dining options nearby. That said, acoustically, it's not great. If someone is speaking on stage, it's fine. If they're singing on stage and you know the song, it's fine. If you are unfamiliar with the song and lyrics, it's not easy to make them out. Depending on the artist, I would go back. read more

Signed up for a magic show with my son and when I entered the facility I was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was and how helpful all the people there were. Parking was really easy to find and once seating began (about 30 minutes prior to the start of the show), they had more folks helping to guide people to their seats. I think the one complaint I did have was the seats were pretty uncomfortable and of course my son had issues with the folding type of chairs. Overall, I would totally sign up for an event again at this place and would recommend anyone to try them out. read more
