I had the opportunity to visit the concert side of the Hale Center Theater and was thrilled with how cozy and pleasant the experience was. The entire space holds maybe 250 or so people and each seat has a good view of the stage. The performers are fantastic (I was there for the Yacht Rock show) and I loved how enthusiastic and expressive they all were. My parents, especially my dad, are huge Bee Gees fans. So, when I saw that Hale Center Theater was putting on a tribute show while they were visiting, I knew I had to get tickets. We purchased tickets for the Thursday, January 8th show. We arrived a bit early on the day of the show. It was our first time at Hale and we wanted to be prepared. We were directed to a side entrance where they usually have their music shows. I knew the theatre was small, but was still surprised to see how intimate it was. I didn't mind it. The theatre sells concessions before the show and during intermission. We didn't purchase any. The show was phenomenal! The band and the singers were very talented and put on a fantastic performance. They nailed the original voices, which is not easy, and even hit some of the high notes. It took us back to the disco days of the 70s. We can't wait to catch another show at Hale Center Theatre! read more

3/2/26 It's been too long, last visit 3/25/25. Tonight after our traditional dinner before our show we were excited to see and hear the Golden voice of Patsy Cline. Parking 5/5 We enjoyed diner at the Liberty Market and found great parking across the street and left it there for our short walk. Downtown Gilbert 10/5 The Town of Gilbert has done a spectacular job of its downtown revitalization planning with the it's building repurposing and new development architecture requirements and marketing that has attracted some great companies making it a destination for fun, food, entertainment and shopping. It's always nice to take a bench for a bit to take in the beautiful Gilbert tower at night while enjoying the last of our gorgeous Senorian desert weather before summer! Complimenting the tower is the Theaters markee, brightly lit and a throwback to the days when entertainment and theater were central to an evening out. Venue 5/5 There are really no bad seats as the venue is well designed for sound and a more quaint experience. Performance 5/5 The "Always Patsy Cline" production was excellent. The show artfully told her story, a humble performer who gained national notoriety but was taken at a tender age of 30 in 1963 from a plane crash on her journey home from a performance. I became a fan of hers and other country artists of this period after moving to Arizona. This period was full of names, voices and lyrics that for me epitomized the charm and perhaps the innocence of early America my parents enjoyed and a little before my time. We have been to many Hale Concerts and enjoyed them all but the July 9, 2026, 4 pm Toby Keith tribute concert performance was very disappointing. The guitar backup band drowned out Hollywood Yates. We decided to leave when they took a short intermission break. Looking forward to the next concert we have tickets for Glen Campbell, Kenny Rogers, and John Denver tribute in November. read more

Such a small, cute, and fun venue this is. We came for a showing of A Christmas Carol and we really enjoyed the show. We had corner seats with some limited view and the seats were comfy. We had a cookie and a drink and there was an intermission an hour into the show. The employee working the ticket counter was friendly. Plenty of parking outside. read more

Well I just arrived and got my seat. The theater is really amazing. It's so intimate and small. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. Everything seems to have a pretty clear view and the set and decor through the lobby, the balcony, and inside the theater is really just incredible. I honestly can't believe I never knew this theater existed. They even have a small concession stand in the lobby to get snacks and, I'm sure, drinks. Now for the show. This was a rendition of Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol, and I have to say it was quite good. The characters were the characters but the energy was high and amazing. They did an incredible job of delivering the story. The set changes were precise and quick and they did it while the show was still going on without much notice. The use of props and the flow was flawless and, of course, the musical portions were super clean. There was joy, and anger, and darkness, and it was fun all the way around. I would have posted pics and videos of the performance however, doing that during the performance was prohibited I'll definitely return for other shows. read more

The Hale Center Theater is top notch from the staff to the facility itself. I saw the Bee Gees a while back and it was incredible. I saw the yacht rock show last night and while the band was great, the lead vocalist left a lot to be desired. There were moments he showed great range in his voice and hit the notes with confidence, and plenty where he did not. A bit disappointing...I felt for him. I recently went to see "A Christmas Carol" at the Hale Theatre and loved it! Prior to this, I had never experienced live theater other than school plays. I was expecting a regular stage with seating just on one side, but this had seating all around with the stage in the center. It was a smaller theater, which gave it a more cozy, intimate setting. I sat on the north side, and to my right was another part of the set. It was cool to be so close to the set and the actors. It really added to the experience. Before the show started, the actors walked around and interacted with the audience members while staying in character. It was a 2-hour show with a 15-minute intermission about halfway through. There is a concession stand by the box office in the front offering drinks, cookies, candy, and other snacks. They also brought a concession stand into the theater for better convenience during intermission. There were no cup holders at the seats, so I just rested my water bottle on my jacket in my lap. They also told us that taking photos or video during the show was not allowed. I liked that because then I could fully focus on the show. Overall I had such a great experience and am already looking up future shows to attend here! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE !!! I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I found this wonderful gem while looking for something to do when I visited Phoenix. Luckily, I saw that they were performing Irving Berlin's "Holiday Inn." The staff was amazing helpful when purchased tickets for the incorrect date. The show was amazing and the show was waaaaaaayyyyy better than what I was expecting. I really thought this was a small local theatre (which I love). What I got was a full blown professional show in one of the coolest theatres I have been in, in years. The crew, the staff, the cast, the music, the sound, the facility... A+++++ I cannot recommend strongly enough that you go see a show here. And, it is located in this really cool downtown area in Gilbert, AZ that is loaded with places to eat, drink, and shop. Just arrived home from watching "Guys and Dolls" and oh what a wonderful time we had! Attended the matinee show (4:00pm). Everyone did a wonderful job and their singing voices harmonized so nicely but I have to say the young lady we played the role of "Adelaide" stole the show. I came to see Rodger and Hammerstein's Cinderella and I left with season tickets to see 5 more shows!!! I haven't seen a musical that good ever. It's so good to see such quality talent again since Covid. They sang all my favorite songs such as My own little corner, 10 minutes ago, The prince is giving a ball, Do I love you because you're beautiful and many more. I have a new favorite Cinderella, she fit the role perfectly better than any prior movie or play. Brie Wadsworth-Gates. The seats are around the stage so there isn't a bad seat in the house. $55 a ticket, I can see why most of the shows are sold out. Running July 5 through Aug 17 2024. Located in downtown Gilbert off Gilbert road. There is plenty of free parking across the street due to it also serving as a park and ride. The playbill for the upcoming year looks fantastic. Over the years I've seen various shows such as Sister Act, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Christmas Carol more times than I can count (their traditional holiday show). They have a traditional round style theatre which is unique comparative to other local theatres, and always put on a great production. My problem is price point as tickets are usually $50+ which has led me to not seeing recent productions. Additionally, I have a peanut/nut allergy and they serve products that can trigger food allergies. I try to buy seats with that in mind to make for a more safe visit. Overall, I would recommend as the staff are friendly, the production team is amazing, and you'll be sure to be entertained! read more

I have been attending performances here at Hale Centre Theatre for many years. It is one of my favorites places to see a show here in Arizona. A friend of mine was a regular performer at Hale back in their early days and I would go to see all of her performances. My mother and I have seen their annual holiday "Christmas Carol" show on many occasions. Hale Centre Theatre has been here in downtown Gilbert for over twenty years. They host all sorts of musicals, dramas and comedies throughout the year. It is a nice affordable way to see a Broadway experience here in the Valley. I love the intimacy of this theater. Hale Theater holds 350 people and has an in-the-round style of seating. You really do feel like you are part of the show with how close you are to the actors. The production is usually always really good. I am always in awe of how talented many of these up-and-coming local artists are. They have done many renovations over the years to create a more engaging experience here at Hale. They just recently opened a 150 seat concert hall next door that showcases many tribute bands. Hale Centre Theatre is located across the street from the historic Gilbert Water Tower. There are so many options for food within walking distance if you want to made your night a dinner and a show night. read more

My mom is a huge fan of Patsy Cline. A friend of mine recommended seeing the show. We were overwhelmed by the talent of the two actresses. It was absolutely phenomenal. My mother was jumping out of her seat. The voices, acting, and the production was truly amazing.Everything was spectacular! Also just be aware of different websites selling tickets, as I was purchasing, there were website selling seats for $400. The Rolling Stones & Eric Clapton tributes last night was AMAZING! I went in looking forward to the Eric Clapton song (Tears in Heaven is an all-time favorite), but the "Mick Jagger" singer and the high energy of the Rolling Stones songs Stones the show for me. I probably prefer the acoustics in the smaller concert venue along with the state at one end (so you can see all the performers), but Hale Theatre is still an OUTSTANDING venue to see these musicsl performances. We just went to the comedy they have here currently. Titled "Cash on Delivery", we weren't laughing very much at first. That quickly changed and the whole audience was cackling at the raunchy jokes and funny plot twists. The actors were awesome, especially the wife actress. She made us giggle! I appreciate this theater and consider their productions to be of high quality. However, I have noticed a recurring pattern where the same performers are cast in multiple roles. While these individuals are indeed talented, it often feels like the same small group of actors is featured in every production. I would welcome the opportunity to see new faces on stage. Although the theater remains an excellent venue for entertainment, the repetition of certain performers detracts from the overall experience, making the shows appear too similar.... I think moving forward I will be checking to see if it's the same 2-3 people in leading roles. I love going but this has become distracting. As for the actual venue the sound is great and costumes have been excellent last few seasons. I do wish they could figure out a way for the bathrooms to not have such long lines but hey that's part of it I suppose! read more

First experience here and we were very pleased. The environment is clean, inviting and feels very warm. The setting is very intimate and the staff kept everything organized and on time. Really enjoyed being able to see the actors so close and felt like we were a part of the show. Only advice when booking tickets is aim for the SE area of the theatre. Actor A comes on stage to hand Actor B a firearm. Actor B then proceeds to waive that firearm toward the crowd several times, apparently trusting that Actor A has handed him is in fact a prop weapon. (Has anyone heard of Alec Baldwin accidentally killing a crew member??) It was also pointed directly at another actor with multiple people behind her from a distance of about 10 ft. As one who grew up around firearms, worked in a profession that required carrying one on duty, and is still involved in sport of firearms, I can say it was extremely unprofessional, and potentially dangerous, conduct. Not to mention extremely uncomfortable for those sitting in the line of the muzzle of the gun. A quick Google search will provide guidelines for appropriate use of prop weapons in theater. To include this statement..."Never point at a person. The most crucial rule is to never point a firearm directly at another person or audience member. All "shots" must be "cheated" by pointing the gun off-line, away from anyone in the direction of the intended victim." When I brought this to the attention of the people at the desk they looked completely disinterested and one of them snarked "well it's a prop." The show was good but the apathy toward safety protocol was disturbing. read more

We're huge fans of the Phoenix Theatre, so we were excited to come join some Gilbert-dwelling friends at the Hale Center Theater this week. We had a blast! We watched And Then There Were None and loved Hale Theater's take on the classic Agatha Christie novel. One of the biggest benefits of this theater is the physical plant; with the stage in the center of an amphitheater-style seating arrangement, there are no bad seats in the house. The actors made full use of the stage as well, walking up the aisles between audience members so much that you really felt that you were part of the set. The awesome new lighting set-up was put to good use for some cool effects, but our friends tell us that they play even more with lighting in other shows they've seen. Hale Theater doesn't provide alcoholic drinks, but there's soda and water available at intermission, or you can pop across the street to get a take-out coffee. read more

What a great evening we had at this Beautiful theater. It was such a pleasure to watch a live show, Chaps the musical, in a theater in the round. There doesn't appear to be a bad seat in the house. Lovely place, great show, staff and we went on New Years eve which was wonderful to get out and see live theater. They treated us all royally with dessert this evening. However the show and theater steal your heart as only live theater can do. Parking is free nearby and there are a lot of restaurants nearby to eat at. I saw the musical "Bye Bye Birdie" here today with a few friends. It was fabulous. The amount of talent among all of the actors was so impressive. They all had Beautiful singing voices, great dancing skills and just overall very talented cast and really entertaining. Not a bad seat in the theater. Only complaint is that the Bathroom lines are crazy long during intermission. I Waited in line for over 20 minutes. Other than that issue, I really love this venue and have tons of respect for the actors who obviously work tirelessly to learn their parts. It was a wonderful way to spend a warm summer weekend day in the valley. I can't wait to visit again. read more
