Such a small, cute, and fun venue this is. We came for a showing of A Christmas Carol and we really enjoyed the show. We had corner seats with some limited view and the seats were comfy. We had a cookie and a drink and there was an intermission an hour into the show. The employee working the ticket counter was friendly. Plenty of parking outside.

    All great seats.

Guys and dolls tonight. Such talent!! We appreciate the comfy seats and consistent performances. Great sound system and all seats are excellent. We did not have refreshments tonight, but great to have offerings. People are polite and kind. Parking is easy and free!!! We will be back soon.

Well I just arrived and got my seat. The theater is really amazing. It's so intimate and small. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. Everything seems to have a pretty clear view and the set and decor through the lobby, the balcony, and inside the theater is really just incredible. I honestly can't believe I never knew this theater existed. They even have a small concession stand in the lobby to get snacks and, I'm sure, drinks. Now for the show. This was a rendition of Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol, and I have to say it was quite good. The characters were the characters but the energy was high and amazing. They did an incredible job of delivering the story. The set changes were precise and quick and they did it while the show was still going on without much notice. The use of props and the flow was flawless and, of course, the musical portions were super clean. There was joy, and anger, and darkness, and it was fun all the way around. I would have posted pics and videos of the performance however, doing that during the performance was prohibited I'll definitely return for other shows.

This is something unexpected but I'm in love with it

So I'm back but I'm a huge theatre geek and when I heard Guys and dolls was coming I was like holy hell I have to go and I ended up getting tickets for Christmas and all the actors were amazing very talented

Experience some of the finest performing arts Utah has to offer up close to the action! The Hale Center Theater keeps you close to the stage and offers an experience enjoyed by the whole family. Take a break from the movies and support the arts by coming to the Hale! You won't be sorry! I highly recommend season tickets so you don't miss anything!

I recently went to see "A Christmas Carol" at the Hale Theatre and loved it! Prior to this, I had never experienced live theater other than school plays. I was expecting a regular stage with seating just on one side, but this had seating all around with the stage in the center. It was a smaller theater, which gave it a more cozy, intimate setting. I sat on the north side, and to my right was another part of the set. It was cool to be so close to the set and the actors. It really added to the experience. Before the show started, the actors walked around and interacted with the audience members while staying in character. It was a 2-hour show with a 15-minute intermission about halfway through. There is a concession stand by the box office in the front offering drinks, cookies, candy, and other snacks. They also brought a concession stand into the theater for better convenience during intermission. There were no cup holders at the seats, so I just rested my water bottle on my jacket in my lap. They also told us that taking photos or video during the show was not allowed. I liked that because then I could fully focus on the show. Overall I had such a great experience and am already looking up future shows to attend here!

Cast and crew did an amazing job with A Christmas Carol! Phenomenal performance. Go check them out during this Christmas season! The theater is small but they use the space very well. They have a concession stand and offer a 15 min intermission about an hour after the play starts.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE !!! I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I found this wonderful gem while looking for something to do when I visited Phoenix. Luckily, I saw that they were performing Irving Berlin's "Holiday Inn." The staff was amazing helpful when purchased tickets for the incorrect date. The show was amazing and the show was waaaaaaayyyyy better than what I was expecting. I really thought this was a small local theatre (which I love). What I got was a full blown professional show in one of the coolest theatres I have been in, in years. The crew, the staff, the cast, the music, the sound, the facility... A+++++ I cannot recommend strongly enough that you go see a show here. And, it is located in this really cool downtown area in Gilbert, AZ that is loaded with places to eat, drink, and shop. Run, don't walk, to the Hale Center Theatre. See a show. I promise that you will not be disappointed!

From an audience member to an honorary Wonderette!

Love this little theater! There's not a bad seat in the house, and the friendly season ticket holders make you feel right at home. The entertainment is always top-notch--I went from an audience member to an honorary Wonderette! It was definitely an unforgettable experience, especially with the surprise wedding to Missy! Hale Theatre is a gem in downtown Gilbert. Saluti

Came here to see the Marvelous Wonderettes. It a 50s & 60d musical show. Great little theatre in downtown Gilbert. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Parking is available in a parking lot. There is not a bad seat in the house.

    Cinderella!

I came to see Rodger and Hammerstein's Cinderella and I left with season tickets to see 5 more shows!!! I haven't seen a musical that good ever. It's so good to see such quality talent again since Covid. They sang all my favorite songs such as My own little corner, 10 minutes ago, The prince is giving a ball, Do I love you because you're beautiful and many more. I have a new favorite Cinderella, she fit the role perfectly better than any prior movie or play. Brie Wadsworth-Gates. The seats are around the stage so there isn't a bad seat in the house. $55 a ticket, I can see why most of the shows are sold out. Running July 5 through Aug 17 2024. Located in downtown Gilbert off Gilbert road. There is plenty of free parking across the street due to it also serving as a park and ride. The playbill for the upcoming year looks fantastic. Definitely broadway quality. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Can't wait until my next show!

    Chitty Chitty Bang Bang 2019
    Diele K.

Over the years I've seen various shows such as Sister Act, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Christmas Carol more times than I can count (their traditional holiday show). They have a traditional round style theatre which is unique comparative to other local theatres, and always put on a great production. My problem is price point as tickets are usually $50+ which has led me to not seeing recent productions. Additionally, I have a peanut/nut allergy and they serve products that can trigger food allergies. I try to buy seats with that in mind to make for a more safe visit. Overall, I would recommend as the staff are friendly, the production team is amazing, and you'll be sure to be entertained!

I have been attending performances here at Hale Centre Theatre for many years. It is one of my favorites places to see a show here in Arizona. A friend of mine was a regular performer at Hale back in their early days and I would go to see all of her performances. My mother and I have seen their annual holiday "Christmas Carol" show on many occasions. Hale Centre Theatre has been here in downtown Gilbert for over twenty years. They host all sorts of musicals, dramas and comedies throughout the year. It is a nice affordable way to see a Broadway experience here in the Valley. I love the intimacy of this theater. Hale Theater holds 350 people and has an in-the-round style of seating. You really do feel like you are part of the show with how close you are to the actors. The production is usually always really good. I am always in awe of how talented many of these up-and-coming local artists are. They have done many renovations over the years to create a more engaging experience here at Hale. They just recently opened a 150 seat concert hall next door that showcases many tribute bands. Hale Centre Theatre is located across the street from the historic Gilbert Water Tower. There are so many options for food within walking distance if you want to made your night a dinner and a show night.

Ask the Community - Hale Center Theater

    Do you offer wine?

We do not serve any alcoholic beverages. We only have basic concessions such as candies, water, and sodas. We do have a lot of great restaurants in the area though that can be visited before or after the show though for drinks!

    Do they sell alcoholic beverages?

Hey Amy! We do not sell any alcoholic beverages. Our concession stand has candies, sodas, and some other snacks. We do however have a lot of restaurants and places nearby that are a good place to get a drink before or after the show!

    Best area to sit?

I've sat in all of them and never felt like i had a bad view!!!

    Are there any concessions?

Bottled pop and pre-packaged movie theater sort of snacks...licorice, popcorn (packaged), I think I saw candy bars.

But a friend wanted to meet for food around the area and this spit popped up on Yelp. It didn't disappoint! I was skeptical at first as having a sign posted at the sidewalk and a bouncer outside the stairs going down, was a sheer sign that this isn't such a secret and speakeasy-like spot. But I was proven wrong very quickly. Dre who was the bouncer and I'd much rather call Drayden, is young but friendly. The hall leading down to the entrance was well decorated. It's hard to miss the door when you can hear people on the other side :). Hostess was nice. Alex immediately introduced himself from behind the bar as I sat down, and Meagan was the main bartender this night. They were both a wealth of knowledge when it came to cocktails. I really wasn't expecting too much but the two drinks I ordered were a solid 5/5. I had the silk bandit and the untold legacy. I like sweet drinks this way. It wasn't too sweet. All the flavors were well balanced and well thought out. They also had a girl singing tonight and she was amazing!!! Thanks for a nice relaxing night. It's not a very large establishment to cram live entertainment inside (IMO) and we stood inside for 5 mins and just had to leave. It was hard to talk to my fiance or have any conversation. To be fair there was seating outside. They have misters but when you want a couple of cold ones with your significant other to unwind from the week--this unfortunately wasn't the move for us today. One important note: I hate beer. I don't even like seltzers you'd get in a can that much. Cocktails and mixed drinks are my go-to. However, I do like ciders and my mom likes meads, which means she thinks I'd like meads as well. Anyway, we arrived around 5 on a Friday and the place was smaller than I expected, and not very crowded at all. There was only one bartender and he wasn't busy when we sat down at the bar, meaning he was very friendly and attentive. I like anything fruity and/or sour, so when I saw the sour gummy candy drink, I knew I had to try a sample. Not surprisingly, it wasn't as amazing as I expected. I then tried a sample of this honey pear cider, and it was a little better than the sour gummy candy drink. My mom ordered a 5 oz of the other flavor we were eyeing: the key lime pie cider. That was the best cider we had tried. The mead flavors all looked intriguing, but I just didn't feel right spending $11 on a drink that I didn't even know if I'd like (since you can't sample meads). If I was feeling more adventurous, I would have gotten the pb&j mead, but I opted for a prickly pear and vodka lemonade. I watched the bartender make it and he poured quite a hefty amount of vodka in the glass. I wasn't complaining one bit (my mom was scared though lol). Upon tasting it, it wasn't the best mixed drink ever, but it was strong and went down easy. Plus, it was a better price than these $16 cocktails you see at all restaurants nowadays. My dad got the moose drool brown ale and I hated it whereas he liked it. It was a nice, clean place with just the perfect temperature air conditioning, and the happy hour time range is honestly amazing if you're like us and prefer to go out early and be home for the rest of the night. Also, sick merch. It was giving Game of Thrones (hence the dragon name haha).

Ambiance (4.5/5): It's tough to beat a rooftop. Here you'll have nice views of downtown Gilbert, including the historic Gilbert water tower (which lights up at night). It's not a huge restaurant/bar, probably 50 seats or so. A good number of tables and then 15 seats or so at the bar. We sat at the bar. There's a pretty nice mural on one end too. Service (4/5): A little slow to start out with and to close out, but overall, friendly. We found one of the last four remaining seats at the bar. If not for that, there would have been a wait. One drink and then we made our way. Overall, about average. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet for this visit but they do have a full menu. Drinks (4/5): Interesting craft cocktail list. The first one on the list is a Sotol cocktail. If you've never had Sotol, it's a Mexican spirit. Not tequila and not mezcal, but somewhat similar to mezcal and it does have a bit of a smoky flavor. PARLOUR DOOM Came…read morethrough on a Saturday night and this small bar was packed and only took about 50 people piled in there to fill it up. The place was not called ROOM for nothin. It felt about the size of a Master Bedroom. There were two 'rooms' actually; the main room and a smaller adjacent room, which would be like a big walk-in closet to this Master Bedroom. The big room had a few standing tables and the small room had some chairs and couches with tables that you can actually sit at. The smaller room contained a mini bar area that that you can also sit at, but was not being used to serve at the time. This master bedroom had a Master of Ceremonies playing music, but he was definitely a Master of Disaster on the turn tables. This D.J. had a pattern where he would play a song and maybe 20 seconds into it, people would start feeling the music, but then he would switch the song. Talk about killin the vibe! Well, there was no cover charge, so maybe that's why there's a neon sign in there that says "No Free Vibes". It was like they were the Vibe Nazis. The other atrocity was how he was tried to mix the tracks. He was trying to mix songs from every genre of every decade. The DJ was overlapping newer songs with older songs, maybe to cater to the age range of the crowd, but the result sounded like he was just messing around for the first time on new turn tables he got for Christmas. He tried to mix songs which didn't even go together or have a mixable beat i.e. 'Macarena' and 'In the End' by Linkin Park. This abomination was an insult to the artists and fans of music in general. To make things worse, the DJ tried to hype the crowd by talking over the mic intermittently, but all he accomplished was interrupting the songs. I almost had second-hand embarrassment for him. It would have been better if he just had a recorded track of songs and just played the preset music. I think you are better off paying for your vibes elsewhere if you want to dance or hear music. You would think, getting people drunk makes everything better and more fun, right? Well if you can't get them drunk because the bar service was taking such a long time, then you are gonna have a lot of bored, sober customers. I did not drink but all I know, for the rest of my group, it was taking 15 minutes to get a couple simple cocktails. You could probably walk to the liquor store across the street and chug a beer quicker than you could get a round of drinks. This place has potential. It was not a bad space overall for a lounge type bar. The décor, aesthetic, and lighting gave it a nice ambiance. They just need to get adequate staff to serve the drinks and play music.
