I recently visited Chanel Barbershop in Sharpsburg GA for a first-time haircut, after reading several glowing reviews about this barber shop. Initially, when you walk into Chanel, it looks very impressive. The walls are all painted white, soothing pictures hung on the walls, a free coffee area, semi-barber cubicles overly stocked with an impressive array of hair styling products & tool, barbers dressed in white long sleeve shirts with black ties, pants & shoes and small flatscreens at every barber cubicle for customers' enjoyment. However, that is where things start to go downhill fast. Here's a list of items I quickly recognized: 1) They make you wait a long time if you are a walk-in, even if some barbers have no customers in their chairs. 2) When you sit down at a barber station, you notice that the Latino staff (mostly from Dominican Republic) talking loudly to each other in Spanish but rarely talking to their customers in English. Two reasons for that: a. The staff speaks little to no English and has no interest in talking to their customers except what type of service they want. b. The staff talks loudly to each other because they are mocking & making fun of the customers most of the time in Spanish, as if it is their own private language, only they understand (i.e. Not realizing it is one of the top 3 languages spoken in the world). They swear, they use very offensive, racist words & phrases and they make crude gestures to each other, all for their daily entertainment. You don't believe me? Make an appointment and bring in your cell phone with a translation app on it or bring in a Spanish fluent friend. Prepare to be surprised at the translated conversation of the staff. 3) The staff really doesn't cut hair that well, despite all the hair accessories & tools at their fingertips. I am not sure if some were ever trained. 4) The price you are billed for a haircut doesn't match what is posted online. The online price is years old, and the price you actually pay in person is significantly higher. 5) There are supposedly 339 Google reviews for Chanel Barbershop, but you can only read one positive review. There are supposedly 1283 Brooksy reviews which are all 5 stars. There are 11 reviews on Yelp for Chanel Barbershop with only two negative reviews (one being this review). It is really too bad frequent patrons of Chanel don't realize how little they get for the high prices they pay. Also how the staff truly despises their customers rather than being grateful for their weekly schedules packed with appointments. read more

You don't just get a haircut here. You get treated like royalty. I've been a customer of Chanel's since 2012 and I can't even imagine going anywhere else. Haircuts are a bit pricey but I am a firm believer in the "you get what you pay for" mentality and this establishment is a great example of it. You can go to Fantastic Sams, Great Clips, Sport Clips etc and pay less than around $20 for a somewhat decent haircut by a somewhat experienced stylist and leave feeling meh. You leave Chanel's and you feel like you just got taken care of! I highly recommend giving Chanel's Barber Shop a chance. If you like the feeling of being treated well you won't be disappointed. read more

Received a haircut here after hearing about it from family members. A professional group of barbers whose work is really good. I highly recommend getting your haircut here if you're looking for a barber who knows how to cut just about any style, including beards. read more

THANK YOU ago everyone in the shop this morning. My toddler had his first haircut there with Ada. She was AMAZING. She offered him cartoons, candy, and brushes to keep him busy on top of the tablet I brought in. She was so kind and caring with him and myself as he squirmed and screamed periodically. I was a nervous wreck when he started to whine (mom guilt), but Chanel actually came over as well and helped calm him down. We left with a great kids cut and I am beyond impressed. Will bring breakfast next time because tipping just didn't feel like enough for these caring souls. I am very grateful for the CLEAN surroundings and the TLC they provided my toddler today. Went in for a haircut. The guy did not listen to my explicit instructions and instead gave me a bowl cut. If you want someone to generically do the one cut they know how to do, this is your place.***update*** after a shower and style, I noticed there are patches on the clipped area that are longer and shorter, he didn't even take the time during the bowl cut to make sure it was even. He had no idea how to layer either. I asked him Not to touch the top length and he did to the point my cowlick sticks up. He turned me to face a TV that was showing how to build a cabinet that he was interested in making so I didn't see the damage he was doing in time to stop it. I suspect he spent the time watching thr tv show instead of paying attention to the work he did. I am consistently disappointed when I look at the haircut. read more

35 min haircut with Andre. Great guy and does an awesome job cutting hair. We fine tuned my hair after a few appointments and we are dialed in. Highly recommend anyone at Chanel but especially Andre. Professional and they go by appointments which I favor. No line waiting just show up at your scheduled time. read more

I brought my son in to get a hair cut after he had been growing it out for almost 2 years. I showed the barber, Joan Anziani, a few pictures of the hairstyle he wanted and he got to work. My son was nervous about getting such a radical change to his style but Joan was very polite and worked with me and my son to make sure we were happy with his progress. After all was said and done it ended up being one of the best haircuts my son has ever gotten. I was nervous about his opinion because he got so much cut off but he loves it! I have been looking for a Barber shop that cares about men's grooming. I accidentally found Chanel Barber Shop through the Yelp App as my last barber moved on to other ventures. My role has always required face to face meetings. COVID has slowed my travel a bit. However, I still have to show up on video meetings. First of all, Chanel cares about safety. They have always ensured the cleanliness of the facility as well as their own staff. The pandemic still remains and Chanel remains true to keeping everyone safe, both customer and employee. Secondly, they truly listen and want to make you look your best. Joan is an artist with his barber skills and his people skills. An overall genuinely nice person to talk to and listen to. And lastly, the Chanel facility makes you feel welcome. The owner has welcomed me at least twice. Most recently, I misplaced my wallet and called to cancel. He told me not to worry and that he is a family oriented barber shop. "Come on in". When I arrived, he offered some words of wisdom. I cannot rave enough about the Chanel Barber Shop. Be prepared to be pampered as they truly care about your needs and people in general! read more

Best haircut I've had since moving to GA in early 2019. I have had some frustrating haircuts and I walked in today and Chanel literally read my mind on what I needed done with my fade. I really enjoyed how serious they took their COVID rules. You get what you pay for, the haircuts are worth the little bit extra for the quality cut and the atmosphere.
