Deeply regret trusting Steve Diamond and wish I would have seen these reviews before signing my paperwork with him. Was lied to about the amount I would be paying him as he added a significant percentage to what I originally owed and I've been told by my trustee that my repayment plan over the next 5 years will not cover the amount needed to pay back my chapter 13 filing. Expensive lesson learned on my end. He has declined to return my emails. Smooth talker but there exists stereotypes for lawyers for a reason. Buyer beware... Horrible experience! Immediately had me sign auto debit agreement at the consultation appt. I stupidly did it because he said he thought he could have my 2nd mortgage set aside. He later said he was mistaken -- Huge RED FLAG! After paying nearly $ 2000.00 - I am worse off than before. I dropped off what he wanted and nothing was done. I didn't want to sign an agreement saying there may be additional fees that were not clear. No set amount. Steve is not someone I would or could ever recommend. He keeps sporadic hours which are VERY inconvenient if you work, as I do. I could not get a refund I never signed any agreement with them other than the auto debit which he charged immediately. Next stop- file a complaint w the Bar Assn and BBB. Accept my review as fair warning- there are many other choices - find someone else! read more

We called Mr Diamond to see if we would qualify for a chp 7 bk gave him all details... said definitly qualified and house and car are exempt and would be safe...he lied ... even have in writing would qualify and exempt for house and car... we wanted to make absolutely sure or we would not file he assured us verbally and in writing we definitly qualified.... Now finding out all his lies. Our house maybe sold out from under us for just a lil over 25,000 in non secured debt... court said we don't qualify for chp 7 as did several attorneys we called after finding out our house can be sold by trustee sale.. after receding money he was rude condescending and refused to explain a lot of things .. ... lied snd lied and we trusted him to be a professional attorney... my advice stay far far away from him unless you want to lose your home for lies... we have proof in writing as well as recording when he started refusing to answer things .... Con artists. You'll do all of the paperwork, be kept in the dark about progress/ outlook, and then someone you have never met will appear for your hearing. Steven Diamond is not an attorney with a good response for anyone with a disability! I do not recommend him at all. I paid him, everything was fine, until I needed a document explained to me. He stated " it's not my job. Someone in your house should be able to read it to you". I have been diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment, anxiety and Also had a stroke I can't read to understand! Isn't it his job to explain documents? After bugging him I was able to get an appointment to see him. This all could been explained over the phone that day! Both the staff and lawyers lied to me. When I showed written proof of their lie, they claimed it was an "accident'. They were often rude, they overcharged me and gave me bad advice. They turned my simple case into a long nightmare. I think it's still going on, I can't be sure. After I repeatedly voiced my concerns, they agreed to refund some of my money. Took all of our information and paper work, assured us no problems with Chpt.7. Paid $1600 and went to hearing. Pulled out in lobby by their underling and told will not go through due to lack of evidence of disabled parental support.(We hadn't sent money in 3 months-We were broke and told them this). Told we would need to pay another $2200 and convert to Chpt.13. Which we did not have. Came up with it in few weeks and went though with 13. Which flew through and was painless. Another thing they do nothing. They have you fill out all the paperwork and then just review it. Steve Diamond is hostile towards any type of challenge or questioning. COMPLETE JERK. Once questioned. He sent Chang in to deal with us. Then at our hearing one of their underlings shows up who looked 25 and I could barely understand his English. Spoke with several other Attorneys I know about thes guys and they are pretty well known to do this 7 to 13 scam. Guess ours was close to qualifying and instead of being up front with us. They took the $1600. wait till we are committed and then hit us with the bad news and another bill for $2200. This place is a joke, or should I say the Para-legal that they have working for them, he is so un-organized, Tony Dabit, I tried several times to get things rolling and he would always have an excuse for one reason or the other., mainly personal excuses, which I thought was odd, if your out of the office for a period of time, other staff should pick up where you left off, Not in the Office. I was so stressed out trying to figure out how to get my life together after starting over at 50 after a brutal divorce. These issues with the divorce and my inability to work two years afterwards, along with attorney fees for the divorce and bills I acquired left me with almost $75,000 in debt. I overlooked it as him having an off day. later, he was never available and I only dealt with clerks who never had the answers to my questions. it was extremely difficult to get answers to our questions, and i never got updates. i paid more than many other firms charge and difintitly didn't get service worth the price. read more
