Some very good sales associates but that's wear the experience ends... our seamstress fitter was rude and seemingly upset to have to add alterations (her job). Then the theatrics adding up the obscene $$ for alterations was unbelievable. Before having them touch your dress get a quote in writing!! Loved the surprise of an extra 50.00 at pick up for bridesmaid who was not informed that the dress was a "rush"...I'm sure they do that to many a young woman who has no idea. The "email" that they always send when this is the case... could not be found ...only because they are sooooo busy! Would never recommend this place. Horrible checkout experience...when all the $$$$$ get added in. My future daughter in law booked an appointment to try on and pick up her wedding dress. The consultant brought the dress and then disappeared. I had a difficult time helping zip up the dress, but when the consultant came back she did zip it up but when she was informed that the alterations would be done elsewhere the service went from bad to worse. My daughter in law was having to hold everything up because the straps were too long. To get a better idea of the fitting she asked the consultant to either pin or clip the straps. She outright refused. Then she disappeared again. When she came back we asked to see some belts and veils. The first thing the consultant did was look at her watch, then brought back1 belt to try on. She disappeared again. When we asked for veils she brought one to try on. My daughter in law did not like the embellishments on it, so the consultant brought another one that was almost exactly the same. Then disappeared again. She was extremely dismissive and inattentive of my daughter in laws needs and ruined the experience. I went with the intention of purchasing a wedding dress belt, a veil and some jewelry for my future daughter in laws special day .I was also considering making an appointment to purchase a dress for myself for the occasion but with the shoddy customer service we received I refused to spend a single dollar there and I certainly will not recommend them to anyone else. read more

I've never been treated so unprofessional and never experienced such terrible customer service in my life. Initially, when I was choosing a wedding dress I narrowed my selection down to one dress at Chantal's and another at a different bridal shop. Savvy at Chantal's was attempting to help me choose however she wanted to know everything about the dress at the other bridal shop. When I thought she was being helpful the conversation went on to tell me all the cons about the other dress as soon as she looked it up online at the front counter computer. I felt like I was talking to a used car salesman since she was clearly trying to sell me on the dress at Chantal's rather than let me make the decision on my own. In the end, I choose the dress at Chantal's since I genuinely liked it better. I got a call in May 2019 saying my dress was in so I assumed we were going to start fittings. I was told that fittings start one month prior to wedding date. I thought it was kind of late but I trusted them since they are supposed to be a professional bridal shop. The worst of my experience was the alterations and the customer service that came along with it. My dress wasn't fitting properly after the second fitting and the solution given was that I had to tape my breasts to bring more volume up top and my dress will stay up. I am an A cup and I've never taped myself nor do I have enough breast tissue to tape. However, once again I was trusting Chantal's......I was so wrong. I had two scheduled fittings and the dress still wasn't fitting. They suggested I use straps. I felt sad because I bought a strapless dress and I didn't want straps. Remember I'm an A cup so I never have an issues wearing strapless clothing. My wedding was on a Saturday and I was still running for two fittings on the thursday and friday prior to the wedding. When I tried the dress on the friday before my wedding it still didn't fit but Savvy and her seamstress were confidant that taping my breasts would fix everything and the dress would magically fit. I wasn't confidant but what was I going to do, my wedding was in 24h and I wouldn't have time to run back to the store saturday morning before my wedding to try on a dress The day of my wedding I struggled with the dress the entire day. It wouldn't stay up and kept falling down. The straps they provided kept breaking and I had guests coming up to me telling me my straps were hanging behind me. I was so embarrassed. I went back to the store a few days after my wedding to explain what happened. I spoke with Savvy who argued with me for an hour and kept running to the back room and coming back with highly disrespectful, rude and argumentative comments. Some of the comments included that I had lost weight so that's why the dress didn't fit, even though I was doing fittings 24h before my wedding day. When I showed her the pictures of the issues I had with the dress the comment was "how do I know those pictures were taken on your wedding day" I felt so disrespected and hurt that I started to cry in the store. I was being accused of lying about my dress experience and that it was my body that was the problem the dress didn't fit. I was also told that in 24 years of business I've never had this happen." I find this very difficult to believe that you've fit every dress to every bride. Why was I such a big problem then? I was in the store for 1h arguing, crying, and being disrespected until Savvy went to the back room and never came back. I was told that I made her upset. Another employee was apologetic and had to continue talking to me. Savvy wouldn't come out from the back to talk to me anymore. I've never had such poor customer service, experience such unprofessional business, been disrespected, and had the worst dress buying experience. Savvy's character of arguing with me, shaming me, accusing me of lying, then running to the back room and having her employee talk to me clearly shows her character and how she runs the business. I will never recommend Chantal's bridal to anyone looking for a wedding gown, bridesmaids dresses, or grad dress. Buyer beware! read more

They have a beautiful selection of dresses but the service is terrible. They ordered my bridesmaids dress 4 sizes bigger than the size I requested. This meant that I was charged an additional fee for a "plus" size and my alterations were almost $200. They also didn't contact me when the dress arrived (as per the agreement) so I had limited time for alterations. In the end I had to wear an ill fitting dress because we ran out of time for adjustments. The sad part is it was a lovely dress that I was excited to wear...so disappointing. Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. read more

Although I didn't purchase anything from this shop, the store manager was just fabulous. Very helpful and knew so many styles that other shops were selling for much more. This is a good place to come if you're on a budget, as you can make deals and barter a bit. Bridesmaid dresses here are affordable, and the selection is immense! If you don't see it, ask! Chances are Savi can order it for you. The selection for gown's isn't anything too special, however. It's very simple and there weren't too many gowns that 'stuck out.' read more

Hi, my daughter and i went into Chantals for a grad dress i started looking at simple elegant wedding dresses and asked how much one was on display ,store owner told me it was bridal, i said yes , but i still would like to know price ,she paused looked at me up and down and said , its probably to expensive for you anyways ! I told her look im here to buy a dress today,not to be judged,then i told her that i had purchased a wedding dress for my older daughters graduation prior ,and that i wasnt scared of price .She became extremely rude and we left her store,i tell everyone not to bother going to her store! Our experience with Chantal's Bridal was the most dis-pleasing part of our engagement. The MANAGER lied about the cost to do modifications, and they ordered the wrong size of dress! My mother called the manager to remind her of the price she originally quoted at the Winnipeg wedding show, and the manager then told my mom to "never come into the store, or they will call the cops!" The manager just exploded. How unprofessional. When we finally got the dress, there were two needles still attached to the train, which poked one of the bridesmaids in the hand and caused her to bleed. AVOID CHANTAL'S BRIDAL AT ALL COSTS. If I could give no stars I would! Absolutely awful customer service. Complete failure to deliver on their promises. Visited Chantal's on October 13, 2018 to purchase a prom dress for my daughter. Picked one that was a "one of a kind" and therefore had to take the sample. Zipper was broken. Was told the zipper would be fixed at no cost. When I called in April to book an appointment for a fitting I reminded them that the zipper needed to be replaced. Was assured it would be. One week before the May appointment I called to check if the zipper had been replaced and was told it had been. Arrived for the alterations appointment and the zipper had not been fixed. Once again, assured that zipper would be fixed for the June 14th appointment and that assuming no further alterations were needed, we could take the dress that day; steamed and ready to go. Arrived today for a 2:30 appt and waited until 3, only to discover the zipper had not been replaced. Was told it was on back order! I ordered the dress in OCTOBER! 8 months back order for an 8" navy zipper? I don't think so. I was once again assured that the zipper would be replaced but with grad 12 days away I could not chance it. They offered to take a zipper from another dress and install it. The zipper was 2" too short and so they sewed the dress closed by 2". As we were waiting (2 hours later), another mother was having the exact same experience. Travelled 90 minutes from out of town and get daughter's dress was not ready with a week til prom. Is no one able to check the appointments a day ahead and when they realize dresses arent ready, call the customer to save them the trip? Apparently not. The manager was rude and unapologetic. Made excuses. When I asked for her to reduce the cost of alterations by $50, she initially refused but finally agreed to drop it by $30 if I didn't write a bad review. Sorry lady but if you can't stand by your word, I'm certainly don't feel obligated to. Absolutely horrible service and staff are unapologetic. read more

7. Chantal's Bridal- This one is very difficult for me to write, but it needs to be done, because I don't want anyone to deal with what I had gone through on my wedding process. I have tried many dresses in different stores but the one was at Chantal's. I should have seen that coming based on the owner's demeanor. Bought my dress in 2017 give or take a year before the wedding and was told by the owner that there is no point to start fitting or alterations before April of 2018 (Wedding was in June of 2018). So I called in February of 2018 and booked an appointment for April 2018. The first fitting was reasonable, with the exception that I was told that the material they are going to cut off my dress would not be sufficient for the little sleeves I wanted, so I have to go and buy my own material somewhere else, they chopped a chunk from the bottom of the dress and sent me away with an appointment in hand for 3 weeks before the wedding, that appointment was suppose to take place a month after the initial one. A month had come and gone, and I am ready and eager on the day of the fitting sitting their and looking forward to my appointment. While at work I got a panicked voicemail from the owner at 2:15 PM, cancelling my 4PM appointment and telling me to not come in as the dress is/will not be ready and I must call them back immediately. They also sent me an email indicating there is an emergency with my dress and that I have to call them ASAP as they are cancelling my appointment. I snuck out to make the phone call around 2:30 as we can't use cellphones at work, and was met with a negative attitude of the owner who was demanding I come a week or even two later because the dress was not finished. When I told her that as we are so close to the wedding I am extremely busy with appointment and can make it to their store only on Tuesdays and Thursday I was told to make time. I was also told by the owner "Well, sweetie it's grad season, what did you expect". Mind you, I paid over $1,300 for my dress. With heavy heart I rescheduled my appointment and hung up, but the feeling in my stomach was awful, so I turned to this group, or rather the original one of this one. Everyone told me to grab the dress and run, so I got my fiancé to drive there in case I need him to step in and went there the same day. I must say that at this stage the entire dress was paid fir and only the fees for alterations were due. I have asked to bring out my dress so I could try it with my new wedding lingerie, the dress was allegedly in the process of being altered. I walked into the change room, looked over the dress and realized that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS DONE SINCE MY LAST VISIT. I was fuming... I grabbed the dress, packed into the bag and walked to the front counter demanding to take it home. The owner who was there with a teenager and her mom booking appointment for alteration of the girl's prom dress for the first fitting 3 days prior to the prom was darker than a cloud, the owner couldn't even look at me. The only staff who seem to have cared was a store clerk who was trying to save the situation. When questioned who tells a bride 3 weeks before her wedding that despite being instructed to wait until 2 month before the I was blamed for the situation because of "grads" the owner turned her back on me and the clerk dropped her jaw on the floor. Also, they committed to dry clean the dress as there was a smudge of foundation on it, they never did it. They didn't try to fix the situation, they didn't try to offer a solution, they didn't care, because the money for the dress was received and the rest can burn in hell. Ladies, save yourself the stress and hassle, do not use their alteration services, buy the dress if you like it, but don't alter your dress, go private, there are quite a few amazing ladies out there who are very skilled. On a side note, I would like to tell you that my mom's experience was equally disgusting, she went there 3 or 4 times, with me or my dad, every time receiving condescending comments about her figure, offered sacks for dresses, ignoring completely what she said (color, length, size etc.) the owner kept shoving dresses that were 700-1500 dollars more than the established budget, she was very rough with my mom when helping her zip the dresses and very rude and sharp, 2 of those times mom walked away borderline tears. Absolutely disgusting experience. No one should be judged for their figure, especially if like in this case it is as a result of health complications. She doesn't get to do that, so avoid this person, she is rude and disgusting. read more

When my sister got married she insisted on having her bridesmaids buy their dresses at Chantels because she had gotten her wedding dress from there. This was the single worst shopping experience of my life. One month prior to going shopping with my sister and her other bridesmaids I had just had a baby and was self-conscious about the extra baby weight that I was carrying. During this trip the owner, who herself is not so svelt, called me fat, told me that my rib cage is too big, that I shouldn't have eaten so much while I was pregnant because I wouldn't be so fat now. The owner did this with one other bridesmaid that also wasn't tiny (like me she was a size 9/10), while the other bridesmaids were all size 4 or 6. When I had to be measured for the dress I asked that the owner not to yell out my measurements like she had some of the other people who she measured prior to myself. She mocked me and yelled them out anyways. The owner had quoted a specific price and discount to my sister and the bridesmaids because my sister bought her gown from there. So when I went to pay, it turned out that my dress was double that price and I didn't get a discount. Apparently because I was so fat, I had to order a size 28 dress. When the whole experience was over the other bridesmaid that had been called fat and myself both went home and cried to our spouses and the other bridesmaids went out for lunch. I should note that my sister, in her 'I'm getting married bliss' was completely oblivious to all of this, and I didn't want to ruin the day for her by complaining. Long story short, I got my dress and there was no way I was taking it back to Chantals for alterations. When I did try it on there was an extra 10 inches of fabric that had to be taken off of the dress and looked like a tend when I tried it on. It seems like owners just saw that I was self-conscious about my baby weight and exploited that so they could charge me double for a hideous green dress that I threw into a donation bin about 5 minutes after my sister's wedding receptions was done. read more

Absolutely horrible service! The minute I walked in one of the ladies immediately tried forcing me to purchase a dress. I told her I was just browsing around since it was my first day of grad dress shopping and she straight up told me "I can't browse". She was not helpful at all and literally expected me to have a style and idea of what I wanted and that I would be purchasing it right away from her store. I'm sorry but how would you know what kind of dress you wanted if you can't browse? Extremely horrible, rude and psycho sales people. All they care about is trying to grab your money right away and shove dresses down your throat. Not helpful or friendly. I'd stay FAR away from these people and this store. read more

I did make a purchase at this store. They were very helpful. To make a purchase is fine but under no circumstances do you want them to do your alterations as they charge 3/4 the price of the dress. If you make a formal complaint they say you were informed in advance but I know I wasn't. Buyer beware. read more

Big thumbs down! My daughters grad dress was shipped from China damaged.The store called me to pick up the dress, on arrival I was told to check the dress before I signed for it; good thing because the dress was damaged.One would expect that when you purchase a product from a " specialty store" that they would check the dress before pick up from the customer as to not waste the customers a time.We went through the dress and pinned most of the flaws, the manager told me " we will check it with a fine tooth comb"; I was told they would fix all the flaws; when I returned the dress was still damaged and not fixed. No refund or exchange policy. The store manager minimized the issue citing it wasn't a $3000 dollar dress. We paid almost $600 dollars for this dress, for some folks this isn't just spare change. The manager dare not acknowledge my frustration given I had now wasted my time returning to the store a second time to pick up a damaged dress. I was told It was too late to order a new one. You really are kinda stuck at the mercy of the store; you either have no choice but to have them attempt to fix the flaws or you go with out nothing - you cant order a new one, there is a no refund or exchange policy. Lets not forget that the store manage ever so inappropriately referred to me as "sweetie".Terms of endearment are not appropriate and not professional! In my opinion the employees at this store need a course in communication and customer service. Isn't that why we pay && at the " specialty store"; Oh thats right..I didn't spend $300 dollars so Im not as important as the customer who did. I do not recommend this store to anyone interested in buying a grad dress or bridal dress. read more

The staff were incredibly pushy. They didn't listen to what we were looking for in a grad gown, instead only showing us dresses outrageously out of our price range. One sales woman tried going behind my back to sell my sister a dress (even though I was the one paying for it). They immediately shot down any negative opinions of any dress, not allowing me to give my sister my honest opinion of the dresses she was trying on. Horrible experience. read more

Bought grad dress here. Were wonderful as punch when making the sale. Dress arrived with missing beading. They screwed up the fix job then accused me of saying that was the way I had asked for it. It wasn't! Rude, almost threatening and generally just not a nice experience when picking up dress (already paid for). Customer satisfaction definately not on their important list. If you can take it off the rack then you may be OK but warning - would not recommend. The kicker was that they put the dress in a garbage bag instead of the proper garmet bag that came in. (Bought a dress for 1/5th the price at Le Chateau the week before and it even came in a garment bag!) read more
