Solid Thai food - only thing I wish they had was the coconut mango stick rice - if they had it I'd give 5 stars and order more often

Decent Thai restaurant in a very dated little shopping plaza. The service is fast and friendly. I had the pad krapow and it tasted authentic although it could have used a little more basil. The pad Thai was very different from any of the pad Thai I ate in Thailand as it was served with more of a gravy than a sauce but it was good nonetheless. Small diamond in the rough. The service is very friendly and fast even though items are prepared fresh. The only disappointing this was the Pad Thai which was way over sauced and flavours not quite there. Everything else was great. Tom Yum: broth on point but only cauliflower and broccoli inside which was a bit disappointing. Spring Rolls: standard and tasty Satay chicken appetizer: amazing, so tasty and moist and homemade peanut sauce Kaow Phad: the best out of everything, really really good Shrimp Pad Thai: didn't even finish it. The tofu is over fried and like a chewy crouton and the plate is so over sauced it's like soup. Disappointing for sure! Delicious, fresh homemade Thai food in a cafe style setting. The restaurant is located inside Lakewood Mall (behind Tim Horton's) just off the highway. It is a diner/cafe style, comfortable and clean. This is a pretty deserted little mall, so don't expect much around but this restaurant is worth a visit. We occasionally order take out and pick it up on the way home, it is always ready when they say it will be - hot and fresh. We have tried the curries, rice, noodles and all were good. Having never been to Thailand I'm not sure about the authenticity but it is tasty and fresh. The pad Thai is different than I've had elsewhere, pretty much made up entirely of noodles and sauce. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of are the spring rolls as I find they are mostly filled with rice noodles and I prefer more veggies - but they taste good and are crispy. read more

The food at this restaurant blew my mind. Who knew we could get such quality Thai food in a little down just north of the hustle and bustle of Kelowna. We ordered the pad thai and green curry with chicken Honestly, I had zero expectations of this place but the food was absolutely delicious and tasted very authentic. The restaurant itself was small and clean and the service was impeccable. Lots of parking out front. We were visiting the area and found this restaurant on Yelp. We had no expectations as the restaurant is located in a mall and has 7 tables. However, don't be fooled by the low key presentation; the food is excellent! We ordered the yellow curry and red curry and definitely recommend it. The service was a bit slower as the restaurant had a steady stream of locals and take out orders, but well worth the wait. The server was extremely professional and client oriented. This is my favorite Tai Restaurant in the valley, Chantana goes the extra mile making authentic Tai food. My favorite is the Red Curry Chicken, I've eaten many orders but seem to always go back to that one. My family loves coming in and Chantana always makes them feel so special. You MUST come in and visit Chantana to enjoy her delicious offerings. I am not exaggerating when I say "This is the BEST Thai food in the Valley". The Tom ka Gai soup is awesome. We have frequented this restaurant since its beginning. Chantana is a most gracious host and her meals reflect her love if her native foods. I give this restaurant 5 stars. It is my favorite in Winfield. She also will cook pretty much any dish you would like as well. Excellent food and service. This restaurant does good take-out business since the location is very unassuming in a corner of the mall, but we were treated to free wonton soup and watermelon for eating in and great food and service. Very simple decor, diner style limited beer and wine but with food this good, who cares? It's a little weird to find. In the mall by Tim Hortons in LC. Do not let first impressions let you miss a great great Thai meal. Chantana does all the cooking and if you are lucky, she will snap a photo of you for the wall!
