We decided to check out Pick Thai for lunch. It's run by a Thai family and they're located next door to Subcity Donair. We dropped in on a Friday (around 12:45pm) and it was busy. There's two tables outside and another four inside. Service is friendly but it's a one woman show in the front. The menu consists of appetizers, soups & salads and main dishes (noodles, curry and wok). There's a daily lunch special ($10.95) but most dishes are in the $10.95 to $14.95 price range. They also serve bubble tea and other drinks (classic tea, fresh milk and over ice). There's a heat scale (mild to hottest); we went with spicy (middle option) but there was barely any kick at all. Would request hot or hottest if you want some heat. - Jasmine rice ($2.00) - standard fare. One bowl is enough for one person. - Pad thai chicken (N1) ($12.95) - we opted for the tamarind sauce. Good portion of noodles and the flavours were on point. One of the better pad thai's I've had in a long time. The only downside was that the chicken was dry. - Beef massaman curry (C2) ($12.95) - curry was tasty but there wasn't enough sauce. The potato was literally French fries; can't say I've ever seen that in a Thai curry before. Good flavour but wish they gave you more sauce. The beef was unfortunately tough and chewy. Clearly the meat they use isn't fresh. Decent Thai but not all the elements were there. read more

During our visit from Edmonton, this seemingly conventional restaurant will surprise you with its sensational but comforting food. The decor invited a friendly atmosphere and the welcoming service of Ploy, one of their waitresses. We had intended to visit a nearby restaurant but the signage caught my eye. Having lived in Thailand for for nearly five years I can say I have some experience with Thai food. It's nearly impossible to find truly authentic versions of common dishes like Som Tam, Pad Thai, Lap Moo, etc., never mind Yam Pladuk Foo. But today was our lucky day. The owners mother was alone and she cooked an amazing Lap Moo, Pad Thai and other dishes. It's some of the best Thai food I've had in BC. The mother and daughter were so attentive, kind and funny. It was great to be reminded of such a lovely country and many memories. My family and I will be regulars! Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. Remember that you're trying an authentic taste of Thailand, not a westernized version. They will of course dial back the spiciness, if you've been there you'll know what I mean. read more

My partner and I have probably ordered Skip The Dishes from Pick Thai around 5-6 times. Every time they have been great in terms of quality and very helpful when asked to prepare things for dietary restrictions (vegetarian). We finally came to dine-in recently, and it was a really great experience. The food is comforting, and the services was extremely nice! They made us feel like family. We had spring rolls, pad thai, and their homemade coconut ice cream. Definitely a hidden gem worthy of a visit! read more

What a little gem! Large interior for seating and a small patio out front. I think there is only one chef back there, as the food was a little slow to come out, but when my pad Thai came out, it was well worth it. Hot and tasty. Service was done with a smile and she was polite and checked on me a few times. Water is flavored with a hint of lime too. I would definitely come back to try their other dishes!! read more

We typically get Pick Thai for takeout and I adore their pad thai. They are very accommodating for vegetarians like myself, and have added extra veggies to my pad thai in place of the prawns. The staff are always very warm and kind when we order from them. This is probably my favourite thai food in Kelowna! read more

Ordered here tonight for take out and was looking forward to try it due to all of the positive reviews. I was quite disappointed with the dishes I ordered. I ordered the pad Thai, pad cashew and salad rolls with prawns. The pad Thai was very plain but still enjoyable however the chicken was frozen. Some chicken pieces were so cold it shocked me. This was the same story with the pad cashew which just tasted like mild Sriracha sauce on some vegetables with scant chicken that was again frozen. Finally the salad rolls which were the real let down for me. They are 90% lettuce with the tiniest amount of noodle and tiny shrimp which tasted incredibly salty. I couldn't eat the shrimp I had to literally spit it out. Even the peanut sauce was a disappointment that tasted bottled. I eat Thai food all of the time and I have never had an experience like this. Maybe it was just an off night or the fact I got delivery however I would not order here again. read more

My husband and I are big Pad Thai fans so we were excited to try it from here. We also ordered spring rolls as an appy. I've never had worse Pad Thai before. I took one bite and couldn't eat anymore because my dish was so soggy and had a weird unappetizing smell. It looked like 3 day old left overs. Spring rolls were good. read more

This was the best thai food I ave ever eaten! I had the pad thai with additional peanut sauce, and shared some curry and spring rolls with my mom. You could tell how fresh everything was and it was so delicious everything hit the spot and was as satisfying as it gets. For me, the thing that stood out the most was the Thai Iced tea. It was unlike anything I had ever tried and the most delicious drink Ive ever tasted. Anyways, if you go here you won't be disappointed. read more

Wanting to support a local new biz, I brought a client there for lunch. Figured I'd be safe and try a classic dish of Pad Thai. It was sooo sweet yet bland and swimming in oil. Maybe they have a few growing pains still but I'll skip it next time. Give them more time to higher better kitchen staff. read more

I don't ever post any reviews, but this family-owned restaurant deserves a lot more attention. Growing up eating Thai food, I can safely say that this is is not only the best, authentic Thai restaurant in Kelowna, but one of the best Thai food in BC. I wanted to order from this restaurant on Skip The Dishes, but they have no vegetarian or vegan options. Practically everything has meat in it. Quite disappointing, especially when most Thai restaurants have many options for those with dietary restrictions. I will take my business to their competitor down the street. read more
