Took my car to Rick hill BMW in Kingsport Tennessee, needless to say that I took my 2010 bmw 328i…read morein for two recalls. They told me it would be ready today (Wednesday) , everything was going smoothly until it wasn't... I got a call stating my valve cover was leaking, and my oil filter was leaking, to that they told me they could fix it. Well little did they know I took it to my local mechanic at Auto Solution center days before bmw and everything checked out fine. I had the car fully inspected and looked over thoroughly. So that right there was just a money grab for starters, then proceeded to call me later saying they broke my valve cover bolt... they said "the mechanic broke it when taking it off" "we can't do anything till you pay for the labor" I asked how much and this is a shocker to me. "It's gonna be $700 for the labor and the bolt itself" where in the world or why do they think I'm gonna pay $700 for a screw they broke during my recall which is free?? They will not own up to it and claiming I have to still pay the $700 for the labor. So I'm having it towed to someone who can truly work on it the right way. Also never even called for consent to take the bolt out before breaking it. Moral of the story, a simple recall on your bmw can turn into a money grab and they will not take ownership for something caused by their mechanics truly disgusted..

Rick Hill is a FRAUD and personally sold me a used car for $13,000 with a BLOWM HEAD GASKET . My…read moreextended warranty from Endurance wouldn't pay for it because it was pre-existing. When I called to speak with Rick he refused to call me back. Had Zack call me back to tell me, "well you bought the car as is" I work 2 jobs, have 2 kids and my father to look after. Cost was $5720 to fix because the oil had leaked into the coolant reservoir, fuel pump, and all the hoses. As far as I'm concerned this dealership will say ANYTHING to make a sale. PROMISED me that the car had been looked over by there shop and that it was reliable. ALL LIES! I will be getting a lawyer and contacting the BBB.

Worst dealership I have ever encountered…read more Terrible ownership ethics. They would not honor a vehicle warranty because they did not like my opinion about electric vehicles, (of which I own one). Under warranty. They told me they would not work on my car, as if the warranty were on ME and not the vehicle. I owned a Mercedes 450 SL which required dealer service. I ONLY had my service done at Rick Hill, so I am intimately familiar with how they handled my account. A dealership is an "essential service" for even oil changes for that car. At the time, most of their mechanics had left because they were unable to make a living wage working for Rick Hill Imports. I know this, because they told me. It was taking 2 weeks to get an oil change because they were understaffed due to people leaving because of low pay. (During the best auto sales year the world had ever seen- 2023). PLEASE NOTE: Their employees do the best they can. They are actually AWESOME, and have to work with very little support from the owners. I had a terrible experience from the owners. (Brandi, the Mercedes service writer is AMAZING). I bought a car from the BMW side last year, and paid cash. Excellent salesman!!! But no followup from Management to say thanks for being a loyal customer, offer extended warranty, service, etc. silence. Nothing. Maybe they don't do that sort of thing. Ok. I feel sorry for the salespeople that they have little to no support. I decided in December to purchase a new, 2024 Porsche Taycan 4S (Porsche's luxury EV) and found a great deal in Louisville, KY. I went to Rick Hill Porsche and checked with them BEFORE I bought it to make sure that Rick Hill Porsche would be ABLE to service this electric vehicle in Kingsport - where I live - if I bought it and brought it back to Kingsport. Reasonable inquiry, and due diligence on my part considering I was about to spend north of 120k on an automobile that had new technology (to me). I was assured by CJ at Rick Hill Porsche that they could and would service it, and that they had the certified people to do ANY warranty work on the vehicle. In that conversation, I also told CJ what I thought about his father's business practices at MB and how I thought Rick was mistaken to believe that electric cars are a "unsustainable fad". I am sure that was hard for CJ to have to listen to. I told him that, because I was buying the car from another dealership, and why. When I actually bought my Porsche, I brought it over to Rick Hill Porsche when I had it home... (2 days after the conversation with CJ) I then was told by CJ that they would NOT work on my vehicle. Even under warranty - because he and his dad "decided that they didn't want my business". I was shocked. (Really??) I TRIED to explain to him that "the warranty is not on ME but on the car". (There is actually a federal law that PROHIBITS dealerships from NOT DOING WARRANTY WORK because they don't like the customer. Of COURSE there is: https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/businesspersons-guide-federal-warranty-law#Magnuson-Moss ) 4 months later, I read that "we made the painful decision to close our Porsche dealership/franchise". (I cannot help but wonder if Porsche TOOK the franchise away from them because they did not want them associated with their brand. Curious is all, but a legit question. They also told everyone that they had "sold" the franchise to Harper in Knoxville. When I called Harper to schedule an appointment last week, and asked them if they had my information in their computers, they assured me that they did not have my data, because they did not buy ANYTHING from Rick Hill Porsche. The truth.... It is an interesting concept for some people to grasp. I personally find Rick Hill Imports to have extremely unprofessional, and downright immature ownership ethics and business practices. Here is why: They do not behave as if they believe that their customers are important to their business. They behave like they believe that THEY are more important to the community, and have absolutely ZERO respect for the fact that they hold tremendous value to an owner of the cars they choose to sell and represent... and do factory service for. The responsibility they have for servicing the vehicles under warranty for consumers in this community is something I personally believe they do not take seriously. The customers of Kingsport NEED them to be available for them when their car needs warranty work. This basic business tenant is important to ANY MERCEDES, BMW, AUDI, PORSCHE customer, and I truly believe it is lost on these guys. If they simply asked their customers, they would know this. I do NOT recommend them for your luxury car needs. Ever. Ick. Seriously ick.

Unfortunately I don't recommend using this establishment for any repairs. I utilized their service…read moredepartment and now no longer have an operable vehicle. My car received a new fuel pump and the same day it broke down and started leaking. The communication from this company is completely unacceptable unprofessional and avoidant. They suggested me to bring my car back there after it broke down but refused to repair the vehicle that they damaged or return my money. Instead they suggested that I find someone else to fix what they have done or take my car to the JUNK YARD for scrap metal???? Or get it REPOSSESSED????? I'm disgusted and appalled with how they handle business. I highly suggest that you go somewhere else if you are expecting a baseline of integrity, honesty, respect, and a working vehicle. Who knows maybe I was treated this way because I'm a young lady that was able to drive a Porsche. They need to close the doors if this is how they handle business. Communication and honesty with your clients is how you remain accountable as a business owner. Not picking and choosing who you screw over. Your supposed to right your wrongs.
