Beware of several things before scheduling an appointment, if not you might end up wasting your time making a trip to his office. REMEMBER, what happens in any doctor's office is 100% dictated by the doctor. The help is only following directions of the doctor. _________________________________________________ 1) You will be playing "phone tag" with his reps. 2) Once contact is made you will not be able to complete your registration questionnaire online or via a portal - you will need to do it in the office (20th century practice). I believe - this is not accidental as it perpetuates the insurance coverage confusion. 3) Dr. Dasari does not accept secondary insurance along with your primary insurance. He only accepts supplementary insurance with your primary insurance. This is not disclosed on the website. 4) Be 100% sure what type of insurance(s) and coverage you have -get with his office manager before you waste time making & going to an appointment. The last thing you need is finding out your insurance(s) are not accepted by his office. 5) The reps who you will be "playing phone tag" with are either not up to speed with insurance coverage details or are not willing to disclose them. Remember, they are really people who are there to close the deal (sales people). They only do what the doctor instructs them to do. Bottom line: When a doctor only accepts Supplementary Insurance they end up with more $ in their pocket and the patient ends up with more out of their pocket (expenses). *My suggestion: move on to a doctor who clearly advertises the insurance they accept. This Dr is full of it in 2018 went to ER for a umbilical hernia. This Dr did the surgery but rather then do the mesh wanted to do HIS amazing new way to treat it which was sutures. Then told him after the surgery he would not prescribe pain medication after an invasive surgery and he that needed to smoke week. My husband can't smoke due to his work and explained that and the Dr still would t do anything. BEWARE! This doctor is a scammer! He wanted to put me under anesthesia to remove a cyst that he never even looked at or examined. They wanted me to pay a deposit and told me that they had authorized it with my insurance. I called my insurance and they could not verify if he was even a real doctor. I ended up finding a credible doctor that numbed the area and removed the cyst for 8% of the cost that Dr. Dasari was going to charge me. I told a co-worker about the situation and found out that he had permanently scarred her and almost killed her from a severe infection. Also, all of the reviews that mention how bad the office staff is... Are completely true. I found it very odd that his office is only him and one of his family members running the front desk. Dr Dasari is the coolest doctor I have ever met. Most surgeons are kinda like full of themselves and cold hearted. He is the exact opposite. He was jovial and completely informative. His office staff helped me get my surgery done in the nick of time. They saved my guts, literally. Well, everything that has been mentioned beforehand about this practice I found to be true. I know the front office has been given atrocious reviews and I thought I could be the exception. I'm a nice guy and get along with all kinds of people, friendly or mean. Unfortunately, this doctor's "mother" that runs the front desk is running his reputation into the ground. Yes, she attempted to fleece me out of fees that were not warranted, that a less savvy senior would not catch on to. When I balked at her insistence that I pay a deductible that I did not owe, she told me to go to another provider instead. She wasted my time and set-back my plans and scheduling for surgery. I plan to sue this practice and also initiate Medicare fraud charges against them. From all that I have read, this is not an isolated case, nor a simple mistake. This appears to be a systematic abuse of our health care system and it needs to be addressed and sanctioned. I plan to lead that effort to make sure justice is served and other seniors are protected from these types of billing scam abuses. read more

Never got to meet the doctor. Couldn't even get an appointment. Our primary sent the referral to them 3 weeks ago. Initially the office told us that they do accept our insurance, BCBS. My husband has had to consistently call the office to follow up and they kept saying that they couldn't verify his insurance. After 3 weeks and numerous phone calls they finally tell my husband that they don't accept our insurance. We look up the network providers for our plan and low and behold this doctor is indeed a participating provider in our network! Their website also indicates that they accept our insurance!! The office staff has assisted only in delaying my husband's much needed treatment, wasting 3 weeks of time all the while he is suffering and in pain. We went in for an appointment and the front office lady said there was a $100 co-pay. We are fully paid on our deductible and we called insurance and they said they would have to refund us since we do not owe anything on our deductible. I was able to get in and see Dr. Dasari for a Hernia repair and my experience with HIM was phenomenal. HOWEVER, his mother who is the front desk was incredibly rude, disrespectful and inept. She called me a week prior to my procedure, yelling at me because I did not provide my social security number on the new patient paperwork. I explained to her that she already has a copy of my insurance and photo ID and providing my social is optional, she went on to continue yelling at me saying she was already 2 days behind on her work and pretty much wasn't going to deal with me so she was rescheduling my procedure for next month. I then asked to speak with the Dr, and she refused, saying I didn't have to speak with anyone else. My fiancé then went to the office to try to sort out the situation (He is an authorized person on my HIPAA paperwork) and she would not even let him enter the office. Instead she kept yelling saying the patient had to be present and would not let him speak or allow him to explain that she is in fact, able to discuss my medical information with him. She is sadly ruining the Dr,'s practice and reputation and needs to GO! Dr. Dasari, if you see this.... Please look into replacing the lady in the front, she is detrimental to your practice and will destroy your entire reputation. Dr Dasari is FAN-TAS-TIC. I recently had a bi-lateral inguinal hernia surgery, almost unheard of for a female, and the surgery and recovery went great. Dr. Dasari is very personable, takes his time explaining EVERYTHING, doesn't rush your appointment and was very patient with my endless questions. I'm so glad my primary referred me to him. I was told they took my insurance and I even double checked my insurance app. After driving 45 minutes to Dr Dasari's office I was told they will not take my insurance because they have had situations where they do not pay but I can pay out of pocket and if they get paid they will give me my money back. I called the insurance company while still in the office and they tried to tell them they were in network and would be paid. She refused to listen and kept talking about prior authorization which I asked her to get from my insurance provider but she refused. I just want others to be aware that dealing with insurance seems to be too much work for this office and I really can't rate the doctor but since his staff is so uncaring maybe it is a reflection of his work as well. read more

My husband was trying to have hernia surgery last year. He was scheduled, but he got covid and had to cancel (postpone) the proceedure. When he got better, he returned to the office and was asked to get a cardiac clearance. He went for the screening at a cost of over $1,000 out of pocket. He was cleared by the cardiologist and tried to schedule an appointment for the needed surgery. He was told that the Doctor wouldn't be scheduling any surgeries for the rest of the year and that the soonest he could get in for an appointment was 1/31/25. He waited the three months, went to his appointment and saw the doctor who told him his heart was good for at least 10 years. Dr. Dasari told my husband to schedule the surgery with his front desk. (His Mom) After waiting the better part of an hour, he was told that his cardiac clearance was too old and that he would have to retake all of the screening tests. He got mad and just walked out. Since reading these reviews, I looked at the bills I paid last year. I remember receiving a bill and paying $298 to Dr. Dasari. This was the total amount that was billed to medicare for the office visit. I just looked at my records and I don't find the payment anywhere. Perhaps the check was never cashed? I am not sure. Office is not organized at all. My husband had surgery in January and we are still trying to get our refund from our deposit 6 months later. They keep telling us next week, but we've been hearing that for months. We are owed over $700. It's unfortunate that the office is so disorganized because we had a great experience with Dr. Dasari himself. Unfortunately, his office manager is his mom, so I'm not sure he's willing to hear that she actually isn't doing a great job. I concur with all complaints about the office staff. In particular, the doctor's mother who runs the front office and handles all the billing. She collected an upfront deposit from me for my consultation, even tho I had met my deductible. I was hesitant to pay it, but she assured me it would be credited back once my insurance company processed the claim. Well, that never happened and all she wanted to do was blame my insurance company even tho they are an in-network provider. I'm still trying to get my deposit back and my insurance company is still trying to get them to cooperate. The only other person you'll deal with is Jesus, but he's not much help. As for Dr. Dasari, I hear that he is a good surgeon, but I didn't feel that comfortable with him during our consultation. A very mean woman runs the office, and she is very rude and disrespectful to the patients. Looking at other reviews I believe it is the Dr's mother. If she doesn't like you for whatever reason, she will not allow you to make an appointment no matter how great your insurance is. Another young man answers the phone, and although he isn't rude, he doesn't seem to know anything about making appointments and he has to ask her for everything. I don't even think Dr. Dasari knows how poorly his patients are being treated by the front desk lady. I spent countless hours and appointments trying to figure out what my issue was and Dr Dasari figured it out with 30 seconds of being examined. He identified my annoying umbilical hernia and then went through the process of explaining how he could fix it if I wanted to. Not that I had to, or it needed to be done right away, he put me in control. After some time I decide to get it fixed and I couldn't be happier. I called to try and schedule a consultation online consultation and records review like the website says for out of state patients. The person I spoke to was EXTREMELY rude, and refused to let me speak to anyone else. I was told that I had to fly across the country for my first visit, even though it says a virtual consultation will be scheduled to make sure it's something he can treat. They adamantly stated that it had to be in person, they didn't care if I flew across the country just to find out that he doesn't treat my condition. They also asked why I couldn't just find a Dr in PA. I specifically sought him out because of his expertise and apparently travelling to see a specialist that can handle complex medical needs is a bad thing. The Doctor himself is amazing but the lady in the front needs to be replaced. I was not the only one in the office complaining about the exact same thing, a pilot was in the exact same position as myself and walked out due to how unprofessional she is. He also cannot return to work because he also needs the same letter my son needs. Literally stating after surgery he can return to work that is the only thing that can be stated on the letter. My son was seen 2 years ago and was cleared to go back to work which she gave us something stating that but it was on the same paper regarding his surgery it was denied. My son is trying to enlist in the Airforce and can't do to this without this letter of release which was given to him after surgery and we requested a copy and again denied as she repeats she gave it to us two years ago. You state you no longer have the letter again she stated she gave it to us, this goes on and on. She does not listen to the patient. Repeats things over and over even though you have said exactly what you need, she completely disregards it. You ask to speak to the doctor for clarification and she refuses. This is the most unprofessional Doctors office I've seen and I have two other sons that are special needs. It is the most ridiculous thing I've seen and literally two patients with the exact same issue should raise concerns for the doctor as it is a direct reflection of him. Just recently had an episacral lipoma removed from my lower right back. Dr. Dasari was outstanding throughout. Very reassuring before the operation. Smooth operation itself, only taking about 30 minutes. Extremely minimal incision for a big piece of fat coming out. And post-op, very comforting and detailed in post-op instruction. His staff is superb! ESPECIALLY, his mom Padma!
