If I could give them a zero, I would, and I have never written such a negative review as I am doing now. I am a Clinical Social Worker and I believe in giving people grace and trying to share positivity rather than focusing on the negativity. But the treatment I received simply trying to get help was disgusting. It started in March 2026 when my PCP sent a referral to the Gastroenterology Department for assistance with my unusual and very complex GI case. They did not accept the referral "due to an error with the referral," but never called me or my PCP to notify either of us of the error. Meanwhile, I was able to be seen at the Cleveland Clinic who unfortunately could not determine what is causing my severe abdominal pain after a life threatening episode of Severe Ischemic Colitis in December of 2025 (which has resulted in constant abdominal pain after eating and severe/debilitating pain if I eat fruits, vegetables, or meats - requiring two ED visits which were unhelpful). So, after the Cleveland Clinic discharged me in May, I reached out to CH Internal Medicine's GI Department to follow up on the March referral, which is when I learned they discarded it and had never called me or my PCP. So I made another appointment with my PCP on 5/17/26 and another referral was sent under "emergent" status (which typically requires a response in 24 hours). I hadn't heard anything by 5/21/26, so I again called their scheduling line. The scheduler (Jenny) was very nice and gently explained that they had decided not to see me. She could not provide a reason why they would not see me. I began sobbing and begging for their help, because no one has been able to help me in almost 6 months. I was then transferred to the Office Manager who was incredibly rude and had no empathy. After explaining my situation and lack of hope, crying throughout the call, she continued to be defiant and even went as far as saying "if you're really in that much pain you should go to the ED." I explained that I had been to the ED twice without any assistance, at which point she insinuated that I was lying when I said that the Duke GI physicians refused to see me as a consult in the ED. She said they had to see me if a consult was requested and I said that she could read my ED notes which clearly stated GI was consulted but declined to see me. She still did not care. She refused to offer any assistance and by implying that my pain was not severe, I lost my temper and cussed at her. I am NOT that kind of person - I am so ashamed of my behavior and have never been belligerent or rude to any healthcare provider. I work in healthcare myself, so I understand the difficulties workers face these days and it hurts my heart to have been pushed so far that I went violated my own values. I am still without any assistance and am so hopeless. I cannot understand how a medical practice could turn down someone (with health insurance) who was begging for help, without any valid reason (they could have said my needs were too complex, but to repeatedly lie, was horrible) or any recommendations on other providers who might have been able to help. I hope that no one who is suffering has to experience this kind of treatment by a healthcare professional. And I certainly will never go to any UNC facility after this experience. read more

Dr. Tillman has been my primary for 10+ years. She knows me and my medical history very well and this is important. She continues to educate herself on trends/changes in healthcare. I would rate her as a 4. When I have been ill they fitted me in and if Tillman was not available I was seen by John Vrbek (sp) who I also quite good. I did have an issue with their mental health person but all else including the check-in and lab people has been very good. read more

The Doctors are wonderful, Granger, Malkin, Rearden, Tillman all top notch doctors and quite a few of the staff are wonderful and helpful. There is one lady that seems to be at the desk in the afternoon shoulder length brown hair with glasses who is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The nurses have all been very good to me as well. However.....A lot of the other office staff... not at all helpful. There are several people in the office staff that has been snarky, rude and basically you can tell they go out of their way not to help you, even when its their office that made a mistake. Case in point... recently I had an appointment for lab work it was a fasting lab. I had the date written down in 3 calendars... I came in they have no record of my appointment instead they have me down for another date.... when I tried to explain this is not correct that yes the original date was going to be the 24th but i realized before I hung up with the woman I was dealing with I would be out of town so we moved my lab appointment up 1 week. So my lab work would still be recent and in time for my physical. Obviously she didn't hit save or something because they didn't have it correct. Human error not a big deal it happens I can be understanding about that if the person your dealing with actually acts like they give a crap. The woman at the front desk wouldn't even listen to me, she was snarky, and said oh I could wait for an hour or two for Dr. Brothers to come in and then maybe they would put me in for labs. Uh this is your offices error and I have to wait an hour or two and then even maybe you won't do my labs at all???? Right lady no way.... I walked out. Why do I have to wait and hour or two to give a few vials of blood on the okay of a doctor who isn't even my physician??? When they have the phlebotomist sitting there reading a magazine waiting on patients to take blood from. I know this because when I went into the lab area first thats what she was doing. This is just the tip off the iceberg as far as dealing with this office I have been going to the same office for almost 20 years (only because I really like the doctors). There have been numerous incidences of rudeness. Like I said the doctors, nurses and a few of the office staff are wonderful however I can no longer recommend this office unless you are an extremely patient patient and snarky office staff doesn't really fluster you. If you can over look that then go for it. If you have zero tolerance for rude office staff you should go somewhere else. read more

I was a patient at Chapel Hill Internal Medicine (CHIM) for almost 5 years. I was seen by Dr. Brothers, Rosenberg and Malkin. All three are fine doctors and I want to say that my experience with them was excellent (Especially Dr. Rosenberg, she is a very caring medical professional). HOWEVER, upon moving 100 miles away I needed to find new Doctors. After signing the release form (sent to me by CHIM), I then recieved a bill from Health Port for $55.51 to copy my medical records and to send them to my new Dr. I called CHIM and was passed around to 3 people at CHIM and no one could give me a good answer to this other than "well we send all of our records to Health Port and I guess that is what they do". Ugh! I've lived in cities all over the east coast and never ,,,ever have I had to pay to have MY medical records sent to another medical professional!! I just find this petty and very unprofessional and I am very displeased with this practice. Between my co-pays and the Thousands of Dollars (probably tens of thousands) that my insurance company paid them over the years you would think that they would gladly absorb this cost. read more

My wife and I have been patients in this practice for 40 years. We were initially referred there by a group of physicians at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro when it was clear we needed expert followup for some difficult problems. I regret that the practice had to become a part of UNC Hospitals but understand that is the way of the future. Our medical care has always been excellent and service amiable and prompt. I have been a patient here for 10 years and service has deteriorated significantly over the past 3-4 years. It is now no longer possible to get a same day appointment if you are sick. Twice I have called in and been told they cannot see me and I should go to Urgent Care (both times I explained I was an existing patient and had acute symptoms). They wouldn't even to a Strep test w/o scheduling an appointment, which they could not offer to me. Scheduling a routine appointment for a wellness check or medication review must be done 2-3 months in advance. I haven't had any issues with the staff. I just can't get in to see them when I need them. Going elsewhere. read more

Dr. Janelle Krasovich is my doctor and I really really like her. In a day and age where too many doctors try to rush you in and out of their examining rooms so they can get as many co-pays as possible, I totally do not feel that way with Dr. Krasovich. If you ask her a question, she takes the time to answer you without you feeling as if you're taking up too much of her time. I am very happy with her service. The office staff (reception and lab) are also very friendly. Also, their on-call service is wonderful. I had a reaction to a procedure that was done in the office, and called the on call doctors (I made more than one call) to ask about the reaction I was having. They were all very very nice and patient with the questions that I had. I couldn't ask for a better practice. read more

Overall the experience I have had here is horrible. After having serious GI troubles and being referred here as a serious case I could not get an appointment for two weeks. During those two weeks, my health got worse. I finally got an appointment and was scheduled for a colonoscopy for two weeks later even though I was considered (priority based on my symptoms). The day before the appointment I was informed that my colonoscopy would be canceled do to scheduling issues. Thankfully they found another doctor to perform the procedure. Drinking the prep that night made me very sick and dehydrated and after trying to call all the numbers on the packet they gave me (including emergency after-hours numbers) nobody was able to help me. After the procedure, they informed me that I was diagnosed with an IBD. They handed me a packet of the results and sent me on my way. I told them to tell my driver the diagnosis so somebody could ask questions and they disregarded that. Nobody explained to me what this was they just prescribed me medicine. Nobody followed up after the appointment except a nurse who informed me my doctor would be out for three weeks. I was never offered an alternative doctor to follow up and I was assured he would call me (he never did). Fast forward a week and my symptoms got dangerously worse. I called internal medicine to ask what to do. Via my health portal told me to try some over the counter medicine and that they would call/follow up on Monday. Unfortunately before Monday I was admitted for a week-long stay at the hospital my condition was so serious. Still not a single call from internal medicine following up. The point of the story is do not go here for GI. I love my primary care here but their lack of follow-up has resulted in a high hospital bill and a lot of pain. read more

In my opinion, summary: very disorganized practice. They ask you to schedule appointment via internet..but takes 2 days for response. You try to call by phone..but rarely gets picked up. Lab service--inside the lab is very good. But, had to wait for a long time in the reception. The doctor seem to be in rush and wanted to get over the meeting rather than trying to help. read more

Just tried to become a new patient and see someone in the next week. Told that once I see someone ONE TIME, I cannot change providers within the practice - EVER. That being the most ridiculous policy I've ever heard, I cannot see how this place survives. And after reading about the poor customer service, I won't be pursuing care here. I went here to visit the doc about my bowels. The place is real nice. Good selection of magazines in the waiting room. I read the Forbes. I'm going to be starting my own business soon, so I need to keep up on things in the world of high finance. The doc did a real tasteful exam. There was no funny-business, unlike with a certain other local doctor. Just wanted to let you guys know, the place is real clean, and the doc definitely washed his hands before the exam. read more

Do NOT go here!! Let me first say that I work in medicine, and most of my family members and friends are physicians. So I have realistic expectations of what to expect. This place is so bad that I signed up for yelp just to write this review. There is a reason they always have open appointments while there is such a long wait everywhere else. I went once to one of their internists years ago. She was completely inept and during my complete physical she did not touch me at all and did not answer any of my questions. After swearing I would never go back, I recently had a GI issue I needed to discuss with a gastroenterologist. Since all the other GI offices had a 1-2 month wait, and CH Internal Medicine was able to see me that same week, I went there (that should have tipped me off immediately!). I already knew my diagnosis and simply went to discuss possible treatment options. The MD was very nice, and told me he felt like he had to do an exam just to cover himself for his records. After this invasive and unnecessary exam, he then told me he did not even treat my condition and that I should try UNC. Very irritated that my time was wasted - I had to take time off work to go there! I then receive a huge bill from them, since they charged way more than other GI offices, so BCBS did not cover most of it. I called to dispute the charge, since really the appointment person and the MD should have immediately said they didn't treat the condition I was there for, so I would not have even gone, wasted a day off work, endured an unnecessary and invasive exam, and then be billed for something that even the MD told me he knew was unnecessary but had to do for his own chart. They denied my dispute and are now threatening me with collection letters. I now warn all of my own patients, and all of my friends warn their patients, to stay away from this practice!!! The MDs may be nice but between their incompetence and the shady business practices of the office, STAY AWAY!!!! read more

I was fortunate enough NOT to go to this practice. I made an appointment as a new patient and then had my test results sent to them - three times! Every time I asked about the results and whether they had been received, no one could find them. And the staff with whom I spoke were dismissive, to say the least. The diagnostic imaging center had proof of the faxes that were sent. Then I got a call two days later from someone who clearly did not know about the missing records, huffily telling me that they had gotten my three calls and did have my results. Clearly, she had no idea that three other people had told me they did NOT have the results. I'm sure the doctor would have been fine, but the organization and office staff led me to cancel the appointment and find another practice. read more

Called many times but nobody was there. I left message every time, nobody returned my call. I tried to call that extension for appointment. I was told she cannot help me. More than 1 month passed, I haven't still got my medical record. Never ever go to this place! read more
