If you actually care about your teeth and the way you are treated then keep looking because this is NOT the dentist you want to go to! They also like to push their overpriced services on you so you will apply for care credit or one of the other payment plan options so they can get more money from you (they get a kickback from these services every time someone uses them through their office). All the people saying how nice and how clean this office is obviously have not ever stepped foot inside an actual nice office because this place is outdated in everything from the furniture to the decor and there is nothing nice about it including the part of town it is in! I personally will never step foot inside this joke of a dental office again! ZERO star rating! Only gave 1 star because I had to in order to leave a review!

Then last week I brought the clearance forms and watched as the receptionist scanned them into my chart. I then called on Friday and was told the doctor hadn't signed off yet but should do it that day. I called today (Tuesday) and it still hadn't been done. If they weren't the primary dental surgeons in WV, I would go elsewhere gladly.

My first experience in many years was last October. I was assigned a surgeon which means if you are…read morenot comfortable with that person you are stuck. I was to have 4 teeth extracted. When I woke from general anesthesia, which I should never had due to a medication I was on, only 2 teeth had been removed. No explanation, did not see the doctor either before or after the procedure and I was promptly ushered out the back door to my ride. My vein blew when an IV was attempted resulting in a very large bruise all down my arm with a second attempt being made in the same arm. I called a couple days later to try to get an explanation and was told that there was confusion over one of the teeth to be removed being part of a bridge. I have NO bridges in my mouth! My dentist even confirmed it with Mt. State. They charged me for x rays and seeing the surgeon in October which I did not see him. That money was refunded as payment must be made BEFORE they touch you. Fast forward to present day. A different doctor at Mt. State was requested by my regular dentist as I wasn't comfortable going back to the original doctor. I was x rayed again for the 4th time in a little over a year. I was taken back to a room and was scheduled for the extraction of 1 tooth. The nurse ask me if I was there for 3 extractions? After being left in the room for almost an hour, a different person came in and said they weren't going to extract the tooth in question until my dentist removed the existing crown on it. This was the first I had heard of this and the appointment was made in January. They knew they were not going to remove it and said nothing to me nor was my dentist contacted. Again never spoke with a doctor! As a result of these two experiences at Mt. State I have no confidence in them and am shocked at how I was treated. Needless to say I will be with a new oral surgeon in the near future.

They sent a very inexperienced younger dentist/resident in to see her. She told him that she was not afraid to bite him. Yes, I know that was far from appropriate. He was totally scared and did not even look into her mouth. They gave her gas to try to calm her. It had zero effect. In my opinion, there was no gas being given. I was charged $300 for an exam and $100 for the gas. Do not waste your time and money. Very disappointed.

The space between top and bottom teeth when your jaws at rest. I couldn't get food in my mouth or even close my lips around the teeth three months after extractions. They told me to figure it out the best way I knew how when I ask how I was supposed to eat. They told me the teeth looked good. Everyone in my family told me they looked bad and it wasn't just me not adjusting which is kinda what aspen insinuated. I don't recommend. The dentist refused to see me at my second soft reline and refused to grind down the thick spots in the dentures. Said she can not do anything while im healing. Even after healing these teeth are far too long and caused me jaw pain. I got refunded less than half my money. 1300 out of 2900. They're just after money they don't care how your smile looks. I deal with the public for my job and now im stuck with HUGE teeth that could never look natural or even passable. I hate the dentist there. The assistant aren't any better. Save your smile and go somewhere else.
