I was a bit apprehensive at first because it was so much cheaper than the other private Pre-K schools we looked at but within the first few weeks we were impressed. The teachers were very engaged and my child, who is shy, took to the teachers right away. I loved that they would get homework and the arts and crafts they did were adorable. There were a lot of field trips and off-site events - awesome for kids. Security is very important here - buzzed in entry, visual recognition of caregiver before child can leave, etc. The class was very diverse. There were easily four or five bilingual children (Indian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Italian).

The education coupled with the Christian tradition and the array of activities gave my children a well-rounded education. The teachers are dedicated to their students. Many also coach teams or moderate clubs after school. They provide "extra help" to students who require it. They don't leave when the bell rings. Graduates have gone on to top notch schools as well as middle tier schools and also RCC, just as students who have graduated from the New Jersey Catholic schools or the NY public schools. Graduates have received ample scholarships for academic performance and have been awarded significant financial aid awards too. Albertus tuition is significantly less than their New Jersey Catholic school counterparts. When deciding on a high school for your child, the best approach is to contact each school under consideration, ask for their college data, read their brochures, check out the websites, talk with teachers, current parents, students, and graduates. Also arrange for your child to visit for a day to get a feel for the atmosphere. Attend a sports contest, concert, play, or art show. These are usually advertised. If you and your child are lucky enough to make the "right" decision (best school for your child and it may not necessarily be Albertus Magnus), you will know when he or she says as my student did, "I love Albertus!"

Even…read moreif you are looking for a Catholic Education experience, there are a number of top schools in Bergen County, New Jersey that are far more worth your tuition money and have much better collegiate connections. I wouldn't waste your time or hard earned money on Albertus Magnus. Most of the educators there are simply unable to find a "real" job in a public school, and the rest are just there temporarily to gain experience so that they can move on. There no longer exists the teachers that are there for the students and plan on sticking around to guide them through their formidable years and assist in the transition to college. The guidance department is a complete sham with hardly any experience, knowledge or contacts. My advice, either save your money or spend it on a REAL school.

The athletics department is terrible. A particular female tennis coach is just the meanest and inappropriate, she made life hell for my daughter who by the way has been recruited to play tennis in college this fall. There are some very caring teachers there as well, Some of the clubs are a good experience for the students overall. However, a lot of things are really rigged and shady. Exceptions are made and rules are broken based on how much noise a parent makes about their mistakes. Favoritism is alive and well starting from the top to the bottom. A very qualified teacher once admitted to me that the school is shady. So, if you are willing to spend every year completely involved with your eyes wide open, this may be the district for you.

It is a fun, nurturing environment where kids can be themselves and learn how to share, socialize and incorporate their individuality into their class "family". It is the most reasonably price nursery school in the area, but you will never feel like they are skimping on teaching and developing your child into the best he/she can be! All this beauty & Greenwich Ave is a must! So many wonderful restaurants and shopping. I love coming here whenever I am on the East Coast. Every time I return to Greenwich I go to the parks, library, Catholic Church and shopping on Greenwich Avenue. There's high end stores and lots of restaurants. My cousin had his sporting goods store there for years and years. It was called Rink and Racket. Yes I love Greenwich but can't afford to live there. Rents are ridiculous and to buy is way out of the question these days, unless you're very wealthy!

It is a part of the Hawthorne Gospel Church and teaches biblical values as a central part of their curriculum. The facilities are state of the art, the athletics get better and better every year, and the staff are some of the most knowledgeable, dedicated, and loving teachers in the world. The classes are small so the the student teacher ratios are always very good. Many of the alumni that I have talked to are still great friends with the people they went to high school with because the bonds formed at Hawthorne Christian last.
