The last time I ventured here was perhaps 3 years ago and was greatly unimpressed. Having returned last night (not my choice) the disappointment still stands. For starters, the decor hasn't changed a bit, nor has the service improved. I'm not used to having to flag waiters down to change the grill on our plate, most bbq Korean restaurants I've been to are so attentive they know when and they force you to comply--for good reason because no one likes burnt meat! But here, well, I know it's buffet but that doesn't mean ignore your customers as well. I think if it were up to them, we would've had to change the grill ourselves.
That aside, the quality of the meat and variety available was substandard. I almost contemplating asking if there was anything better out back that they just hadn't put out yet. Sadly that is not the case. What you see is what you get and what you see is not much. Their signature bulgogi meat was below average marinated..why..!!
For spicy lovers, there's only spicy bacon to choose from and kimchi on the side. And that's it.
The only meat I found worth my time was the calamari and its the plainest option on the menu and not marinated. My dining partners thought I was deranged to go for it..but what choice did I have? Not much.
The drinks you must order at the bar, if you go for anything non alcoholic, prepare for small skinny glass, overfilled and the waiter dipping their finger into it as they serve it because I guess that adds flavour? Hmph.
I found this meal completely undeserving of it's $100 plus bill for only three people. Especially as towards the end they were really encouraging to push us out with us being the only customers there after 9pm. They shut at 11pm, what's the deal? Argh never coming back here...waste of time. I can think of more Korean bbq restaurants worth their salt than this joint. read more
