Happened to walk by as we got bubble tea next door. The pictures of the 8 different pork belly caught our eye and we had to try it.
I mean after watching YouTube videos of other restaurants marinating pork belly, and just so happening to fine a restaurant like Palsaik offering it, it was destiny.
The meal for 8 different marinated pork belly, banchan, cheese and corn, two salads, pork and kimchi soup, and two bowls of rice all for the price of $67AUD.
First off, when you're seated, DO use stools provided to put your bag, your jacket or other clothing items that you don't want smelling like kbbq for the rest of the day. Just lift the top of the lid and stash your belongings inside. It's a smart way to keep your stuff safe and smoke free.
The staff is friendly and quick. We received our various pork and banchan with in minutes of ordering. They do use charcoal as their fuel for the bbq, instead of the gas.
The staff seems to take care of the cooking for the most part, which is a bonus if you don't want to bbq yourself.

They were all delicious! And each had its own unique flavour, that you can taste. 10/10
Lastly came the spicy pork and kimchi soup. Honestly it was pretty thick with onion and kimchi. There were pork and tofu in it as well. It was a bit too spicy for me and for some reason I was tasting some acidity from a tomato base...maybe it's my jet legged tastebuds being weird, but I was also ridiculously full. 8/10
This combo is great for 3 people, or, for 2 really hungry people.
Sydney has lots of food to offer. Hot pot seems to be pretty big around the Chinatown area. So go out and explore new flavours and eat happy! read more
