I drove 4 hours from Charlotte to Atlanta for a 2:00 PM appointment I booked directly with Tacha. At 1:30 PM (just 30 minutes before my start time) as I'm parking I receive a text stating my appointment was rescheduled. The receptionist repeatedly insisted I had booked with a different aesthetician (Destiny) and tried to blame me for the "error." After about five minutes of back-and-forth and me showing her all of my confirmation she finally said there was a "glitch" that allowed Tacha to be double-booked. Despite explaining that I traveled from out of state and was willing to wait for a later opening that same day, there was no effort made to accommodate me. Or even apology for the inconvenience... They offered a refund on my $100 deposit as if they were doing me a favor ("making an exception") rather than correcting their own system error. The total lack of compassion or empathy and consideration for a client's time is unacceptable. Pretty disappointing experience. read more

I really wished the Melanx Peel worked out for me, or that Charette Cosmetics at least tried to help me repair my skin. However neither happened and I want to spread awareness. I got the Melanx peel late May of this year to help with hyperpigmentation on my cheek. I was aiming to have beautiful even skin for the summer. However 2+ months later I have to admit that it made my skin significantly worse. My dreams of having an even skin tone are ruined and now I barely leave my home most days. It's been extremely difficult to get the proper help or getting in contact w/ management to address this issue. After I finished the 25 day supply (which includes retinol that you must wear everyday) I started to take the pigmentation pack (that also included retinol for the pm routine). My skin was already purging from the second to third week of the peel which I was told is normal. A couple weeks after following the pigmentation pack I noticed that the "purging" bumps all started to turn into hyperpigmentation followed by actual acne (I never popped the bumps). After trying to get in contact with them for 2+ weeks about the pigmentation pack they finally told me to stop using the retinol. I was told a manager would reach out to help resolve this issue since July 18th. It is currently August 2 and I've yet to hear back from anybody. They're quick to take your money but won't truly solve your skin concerns. I paid for a flight, hotel stay, the pigmentation pack and over $1,000 for the melanx peel. If I could go back in time and do things the right way, I would have done myself a favor and find an esthetician in my area to get monthly facials and work with a dermatologist to fix my hyperpigmentation concerns. What I thought would be a 25 day commitment to removing cheek hyperpigmentation, has actually been 2+ months of the worst state my skin has even been in my entire life. I never had acne prone skin, not in high school nor college. I would not recommend if you're not an influencer or a celebrity. I wish that I saw these reviews month ago and I would not have had the treatment done. I'll attach some images of my skin before the Melanx peel (sports bra & lashes), my skin the day of the peel (grey sweater) and my skin two months post peel (excessive bumps and wayyyy more hyperpigmentation) I also added images of my skin with light foundation before the peel and my skin after with light foundation (crunch bar). Nice well kept location . I drove 2.5 hrs which isn't too bad . Unfortunately the Melanx II did not render any noticeable results. It literally looks identical to before the peel. I am writing this review to forewarn potential out of state clients. I booked an appointment for a laser service for Saturday 4-19-25. I was informed this morning that the laser is broken so I would need to reschedule. I explained that I can't reschedule due to my schedule and that I am an out of state client traveling from the west coast. I have to cancel my plane ticket. I requested a full refund of the service since I am not the one canceling and I paid the full service amount in order to schedule (another red flag). They stated they would check with management. I was concerned when they failed to offer another acceptable laser service at the same cost. I called back again spoke with a male employee to be told that only managers can do a refund and management will contact me. Then I received a call from the employee that initially contacted me to reschedule. They offered another more expensive laser service with a peel. I explained that I was not interested in flying out of state for a service I can get in my home state not to mention where I live it is too sunny currently for a chemical peel. I was only interested in the specific laser which is not offered where I live and is the one recommended by my aesthetician for my current skin condition. She offered to reschedule but couldn't confirm when the laser would be repaired. How do request for someone to reschedule, but can't tell them when the service they want is available?! I requested a full refund of my money and they are refusing (another red flag). They offered to credit me at their business and state the credit doesn't expire. Why would they feel I ever want to utilize this business again after this horrible experience! So now it's going the legal route since they don't want to be accountable for services not rendered. . My 1st warning should have been that they charge the full service amount rather than a deposit. Additionally, I always wonder about the financial health of companies that don't want to issue refunds when they fail to provide services, but want to offer credits with their business. . read more

I booked an appointment for a consultation and it cost $100 but I don't see the value. Nothing was performed on my face to evaluate it except for the aesthetician looking at my face and asking a few questions, which lasted for about 10 minutes. The booking time on the website showed an hour so I assumed there would be more to it. I was expecting a more comprehensive evaluation. The $100 does credit towards a treatment so I would make sure to have decided on a treatment already before scheduling a consultation. Other than that, aesthetician was polite. 3 stars because I spent $450.00 at Charette last week for a Level One chemical peel and came back for a small amount of cleanser that wasted in my bag while traveling and was provided to me complimentary for post-op care. I was charged $30 additional dollars for 1 Oz. of the cleanser after telling the receptionist that I only had 1 more day to cleanse. It was a rip-off. I didn't feel like a customer that had just spent a significant amount of money and planned on spending about $2k more in 4 weeks, and additional money for regular treatments. In business like this, where a lot of money is being spent, the least they can do is be friendly and understanding. It's not like people are walking in every day asking for free things or just enough cleanser to wash my face for ONE day. Bad experience. Other than that, the cosmetologist that did my peel was great, friendly and professional. Had I not had this experience at the front desk, I definitely would have rated 5 stars! read more

It's day 5 of my Level I peel and all my dead skin has come off... I literally cried seeing that the peel yielded no results. One side of my face is actually more uneven and blotchy. Bought a home melan x kit for my mom, the website wouldn't let me make any appointment. I called them multiple times, left voicemails, sent emails but no one contacted me back. secondly, I received the products I purchased and the melan x peel and 25 day kit containers was literally quarter full of a very small container which is impossible to use for 25 days, it would last a week at max and the peel they gave which will barely cover the whole face. Hi my name is Chelsea , & here's my story , I came to Tocha May for the first time ever so excited about my results, I booked for the $850 peel but was told at the office that I would have to get A less stronger peel which was $500 First to test the skin, which is understandable even though a waste so about a week or two later I came back to purchase the $850 peel. She begins to do the microneedled process in which she has the needle up extremely high and she did not numb my skin So I was in excruciating pain the whole time then she put the peel on gave me my products and told me to send her pictures for the next seven days after that my skin became darker and darker and the spots got worse. In reality she caused even more hyper pigmentation so she offer me free treatment to reverse it. After about 2 fail treatments the front desk contact me to tell me they will no longer give me free treatments and then I will have to pay for the product and then Paul offered to make me a special formula that will finally fix the problem which was a load of crap and I wasted even more money. I will never go back to this establishment again, this place doesn't know nothing about African skin. I did the melan x peel and that was the worst mistake of my life. Waste of $1,500. My skin broke out in sores and blisters, my skin is burnt . I tried to get my refund the owner paul didn't even come in to rectify the matter cause he too busy with these celebrities instead of working on a product for African American skin. No real nurses and doctors in this place. They wanted issue my refund so now I'm taking this up with my attorney I will be seeing them in court. No African American person should be going to this establishment worst experience. That melan x is poison and that product is too expensive to cause this harsh painfulness on my on face.
