We booked DJ Walt through Charizma entertainment for our wedding and he absolutely crushed it! From the moment guests arrived to the last dance of the night, Walt curated a perfect evening. All of the personal touches he included from our consultation made him feel like a long time friend, and the way he mixed and transitioned from songs showed he is a true professional. The dance floor was never empty. At the end of the night everyone was praising DJ Walt saying "he is the best wedding DJ I have ever seen!" Would give more stars if allowed. Used for a Bar Mitzvah. Very flexible with the agenda for the event. Was making changes with less than 24 hours before the event. Kept the kids on the dance floor, that the kids did not even want to go to the candy bar. All the kids were dancing and the adults too. Brought props and flair for the kids, which was incorporated into the dancing. The 2 dancers worked well with the guests and did not take over the dance floor. Reasonably priced. My husband and I got married Oct 18, 2013. Marz was MC'ing (along with his DJ assistant) at our tasting and came highly recommended thru our reception venue, Beau Jolie. In planning our wedding (which was May 29, 2016), we received a strong recommendation to use DJ Marz and Charizma Entertainment about a year before the wedding date. While Charizma doesn't allow prospective clients to go to other events, there were dozens of videos on their website, that we could tell that they would be great and didn't need to rely on a single demo tape. My wife is not one to draw attention to herself, so she was did not want the reception to center around her. Marz listened to her requests and followed through on the wedding day, creating a beautiful environment for us and delivering on all the things we requested. I think there are a lot of skilled DJs and DJ companies out there would could have done a good job, but what separates Marz is his professionalism and ability to maintain the energy of the room throughout the entire night. We can't recommend him enough. We received numerous compliments about Marz throughout the night. You better book early for this top notch MC. read more

We absolutely loved Charizma. From start to finish, they were professional, responsive, and fun. The timeline they created was very helpful. Leslie was our emcee and DJ. I have never seen a dance floor fill up so quickly, and many of my guests said it was the most fun they have had at a wedding, which I know is in large part thanks to Charizma. We were familiar with Marz and Charizma when we decided to book them. One thing I didn't expect but I'm glad we got help with was planning a timeline. I didn't know what order things should be done or how long they should take. Marz was able to advise us on that. We used the online portal to indicate songs for special moments. Some of them were not common, but Marz made sure he found them. Music for our ceremony and reception were on point! The team was able to go with the flow as our friends and family made requests for obscure songs. There were almost no "stereotypical" songs played, and even those were mixed in a way that made them more interesting (I'm lookin' at you 'Cha Cha Slide'). We met with Walt prior to the wedding and we knew we had made the right choice. He kept everyone involved in our wedding, even during dinner! We had come across Charizma through--funnily enough--a work Christmas event, where Marz had done an excellent job as an emcee and had referred to the eventual bride-to-be as the "Devil in the Blue Dress." Our wedding was only 9 days ago (October 22, 2016) and I'm already having withdrawals. Walt was AMAZING as MC and everyone at our reception raved about him. He even helped my now husband and I with some moves for our first dance. My situation was unique in that our wedding was in Chicago (my hometown) but my husband and I live in Los Angeles. Walt was more than accommodating in making sure to schedule face time meetings with us and make sure everything was exactly the way we wanted it. The uplighting package was astounding and so beautiful. I walked in the room not knowing what to expect and I was simply blown away! I want Walt to be my hype man just for life in general. When I go to Starbucks, I want him there hyping up the barista to spell my name right. Lmao! Marz was also excellent to work with; the whole team was! I wish our review of Marz & Charizma could just be a video of our wedding. If you want all your friends and family to have the best night of their lives... go with Charizma. We had so many people come up to us and tell us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. That is all because of Marz and Walt!!!! Marz noticed a few potential hiccups before the reception started and pulled us aside to knock it out fast and make sure everything was perfect. His attention to detail was beyond impressive. When we had a meeting with Marz he asked us what would you like us to play, we said "I don't care, just make sure everyone has a good time and is on the dance floor". A very difficult task in our opinion but they delivered better than we could have ever expected (maybe a little too much because they put people in such a good mood they started dancing on chairs.... Myself included). We have already recommended them to a close friend of ours who was unable to attend our wedding because they were off getting engaged. When I got back to work after our honeymoon, my whole office had heard about how awesome our reception was and how great of a time all of my coworkers had. We can't give enough praise to Marz and Walt. I wish I could give them 50 stars. We are so thankful to the both of them and everything they did for us. There are no words to describe my experience with Marz and Charizma Entertainment except, AMAZING! When I first saw Marz MC at a wedding expo in Gurnee back in early 2014, I knew he was good. My fiance and I happened to book our wedding with a venue that Marz frequently worked with and when we went to that venues tasting, we were amazed how Marz worked the crowd at this tasting. The tasting was set up like a mock wedding for everyone that booked with that venue and all I could think was "wow! if this is how he is at a tasting, I can only imagine how he does at weddings! I want to book him! Months before the wedding, Marz and his staff were so accommodating and were always on top of things. From listening to what exactly my fiance and I wanted for our reception, to making a mix for my father/daughter dance and for understanding that I had forgotten a couple names for our wedding parties introduction, Marz calmed me down and said "theres no wrong way, just your way. We got this!" Marz delivered and I could not be happier. He hyped up the crowd and involved all of our guest. The dance floor was not empty all night! I loved it! Ive been to weddings where people do not dance and the dance floor is empty half the time and I was afraid of my wedding turning out like that. IT DIDNT! People were dancing nonstop! Marz your energy is contagious and you have an amazing gift with what you do! Thank you sooooo much from the bottom of my heart for making mine and Brians wedding so memorable. On the good side, the onsite staff were all extremely professional, energetic, and pleasant. On the negative side, there were numerous completely preventable glitches that threw off several things at our event. First, some of the equipment malfunctioned before they'd even finished the setup prior to the event. (They could and should have checked it prior to that time.) Second, the staff botched the showing of a photo montage that my wife worked on for over 40 hours in advance of the event. (Her exact quote to the company in the weeks prior to the event: "If nothing else goes right, the showing of this montage needs to be right." That should have been a cue as to importance to her and our family.) The time taken at the party by the onsite staff to try to fix the glitches threw off the scheduled events and caused them to take time away from what they were supposed to be doing. To his credit, after the event Marz did refund the extra money we'd paid for the equipment, as well as a few hundred dollars for inconvenience with the montage and the loss of entertainer time. However, he quibbled about the terms of his own contract, which left a further taste of disappointment in our mouths. The organization can and does provide quality entertainment, but it seems that they need close supervision prior to and at an event. read more
