When the project was finished, the entire area was cleaned thoroughly, leaving no mess behind. I was also impressed that they applied Seal-Krete before the primer. I called Charlie on two referrals in my subdivision, he left a job a few miles away to come to my house and quote me a price. I was pleasantly surprised at the price, was expecting more for a 3800 sq ft two story house. He is a straight shooter and told me they're not the cheapest and they're not the most expensive, somewhere in between, his price reflected that. Charlie explained to me what they do, pressure wash, scrape, patch, prime and spray. His price included the paint too, I've had painters at my other homes require me to purchase the paint. He used the paint that is also recommended for AZ summers. I booked him, told him I would call him as soon as my new garage doors were installed so they wouldn't have to return to paint those at a later date. Garage doors were delayed a few weeks so I called him and met with his sons, Jim and John, they went over the contract with me and what to expect. Both of the boys were very pleasant to work with. They didn't even take a down payment, we scheduled the work to begin the first Monday after I signed the contract. John said their painters would be there at 8 am. I was expecting a crew of 4 or 5 like my last 1700 sq ft house I had painted.. they had 2 guys show up at 7:45 ....sharp!! They immediately went to work, no BSing! The 2 showed up every day at 7:45, worked hard every day until 5 pm. They did a phenomenal clean up every day before quitting time. They finished Thursday afternoon about 12. They did an awesome job, clean up was phenomenal each day and respected plants and foliage in the yard!! John came by to check on the job at the end to make sure my wife and I were happy!! I told him we were very pleased!!! He said call when your garage doors are installed and we'll schedule them to return and finish the job!! Two week later doors were installed, called John and he sent his 2 painters out on Saturday morning, again, 7:45 they arrived,went right to work and finished about 10 am!! This whole experience was awesome from the start, not one snag or set back or argument that I usually encounter when I hire people. They showed, they worked, they finished and were very reasonable!!! I highly recommend Charles and Alex painting, I will be using them again for any of my painting needs. His boys, Jim and John, were both a pleasure to work with! DISHONEST and UNPROFESSIONAL. Jim canceled on us the night before our scheduled painting start date, leaving us stranded with no options. He came to look at the house and gave us a quote for painting our house 2 weeks prior to start date. We made arrangements including closing and moving days around Jim's word on when he will finish painting. He gave us a contract and we paid him. The day before he started painting, he brought "his crew" who seemed like a subcontractor (so they are not even doing their own work!). After discussion with the subcontractor, Jim refused to work and demanded significantly more money than originally agreed on. We agreed to give him more money because he cornered us in a difficult situation. He then demanded more money and proceeded and when we questioned him, he cancelled on us in an extremely rude manner over the phone. Jim is also deceitful. He lied about the paint he would use for us. During his visit and in his contract, he said he would use a higher-grade paint. The samples he brought for us were far cheaper than what we had agreed upon. I spoke with his partner at company who refused to help us as well. It was clear that clients mean nothing to Jim or his company. I strongly advise against working with Jim or Charles & Alex Painting. Their unprofessionalism, dishonesty, and lack of accountability left us deeply frustrated. Find a contractor who values their clients and respects their commitments to avoid similar disappointment and inconvenience. read more

Worked with Jim and he was actually a few minutes early for our on-site meeting! Another company that wanted to bid the job an hour before my meeting with Jim didn't even show up. Jim reviewed the work we wanted completed, offered a few suggestions that actually ended up saving us money and schedules the work on a hand-shake. As the work was being done Jim called a couple of times with status reports and kept us completely informed. They completed the job ahead of schedule and again, were on time for our review of the work and payment. The work was better than I expected and Jim's counsel and advice right on target. We couldn't be happier. I appreciate their "old-school" approach to doing what they say they'll do and delivering. Our house had never been painted since built so was in serious need of a paint job. We talked with Jimmy from Charles & Alex Painting and got an immediate quote on the spot. After interviewing two other painters we selected Charles & Alex Painting. They had recently painted 5 other houses on our street, so that was good enough for us. The showed up at 3:00 pm the day before scheduled to start prepping the house. They power washed the exterior, replaced missing stucco and repaired all the joints. The painting was completed at 3:00 pm the second day. Jimmy and his brother John were both very polite and professional as was the crew that did the actual work. More than we ever expected!!! After the monsoon on Aug 2nd,2018 we had a lot of damage to our exterior paint. We got three estimates and when we called, Charles answered the phone and said his son, John would call me back within 15 minutes, well it was only 5 minutes and he was at our door within 15 minutes. We knew right away this was the painter we would like in charge of our home, as long as the price was right. That night we received the bid and it beat out the other two and doing much more work. When we called to tell them we wanted to give them the job they scheduled us, and in a short while our house looked better than we ever thought it would look like after the damage we had. After receiving three estimates to paint our home we decided to give our business to Charles and Alex Painting and here are a few reasons why... 1) When I called to ask for information I was able to speak directly to the owner of the company. Jimmy was not only helpful, he was patient, courteous, and extremely knowledgable in an area I am not. 2) For more peace of mind, I checked on line for reviews, their business license, and with Better Business Bureau. Charles and Alex Painting were up to date with no complaints. Amazing considering they have been a family owned business for decades! 3) Jimmy arrived at my home and walked around my house explaining what we would need and why, as well as how they would do it. I was then offered three different price points connected to the quality of paint to be used from from Dunn Edwards. My research revealed Dunn Edwards to be a professional quality product. We chose the Evershield line which is the highest level of quality for residential dwellings so we would not have to paint again for at least 12-15 years. 4) The team arrived to go to work on time and did a fantastic job. The house looks amazing and was very well done. In fact several neighbors stopped by to ask for the name and number of the company we used so they too could have their home updated and refreshed. 5) After our home was cared for so well by the team, Jimmy and his brother John stopped by to make certain we were completely satisfied "to our standards." We are totally satisfied. My wife and I think of ourselves as discerning and frugal customers and we are very grateful to find a company that is trustworthy and committed to customer satisfaction and a quality product. We had been given some lower estimates but for the above reasons, and many more, we went with the best so we could enjoy a quality and value added experience. Our neighbors had the outside of their house painted by Charles and Alex Painting and we noticed that their house looked great. We contacted them and Charles came to the house to explain what all would need to be done and provide the estimate. He was very responsive to our calls and the day after we received approval from our HOA, they began the work on the house. It turned out to be windy the first two days and rather than continue to work and risk the paint spraying all over, they rescheduled to come back to finish the work on another day. We had to be out of town for a couple of days so the work was finished while we were gone and when we returned, we were so happy with how it looks! They did a FANTASTIC job and it looks AWESOME!!!
