My first experience with my I thought he was not very friendly but then as he was talking and explaining everything and I asked questions he was always so kind to make sure that he I understood everything. People complain about the office, which I certainly don't understand. I nothing but good return phone . they appointments and keep them on time. Also, somebody mentioned about Julie, who works in the office has been very rude. I don't know what Shellley you're talking about but it certainly wasn't the one that I have with. I will just go and say that my husband treated for blood cancer and at one point he was in severe pain and had trouble urinating. It was on a holiday. Julie have a job in the office was able to get in contact with Dr Popowitz and he came on a holiday no questions asked golf course and proceeded to do something procedure that made my husband very comfortable that. That is what you want in a doctor. He is very knowledgeable, caring, efficient and kind. If you could please me then that says a lot if anybody who knows me he's a one doctor don't hesitate to go to him for anything. He knows what he's doing and he's a great person and a great staff.

Right in front of Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital East, you'll find one of Florida's distinctive…read moreblue historic markers--part of the state's Historical Marker Program, one of the Division of Historical Resources' most popular public history initiatives. These markers highlight important people and places throughout Florida, adding depth and meaning to everyday locations you might otherwise overlook. This particular marker (F-785), installed in 2013 by the Robert Neff Family, the Delray Beach Historical Society, and the Florida Department of State, tells the story of how this area's healthcare system came to be. The surrounding community was first settled in the late 1890s, when medical care was extremely limited. For decades, a small number of doctors and midwives served the area, and the nearest hospital was 18 miles away in West Palm Beach. Critically ill patients often had to be transported by horse and buggy or even fire engine--journeys that were sometimes fatal. In 1947, local civic leaders and physicians formed the Gulfstream Hospital Association to address this urgent need. After years of effort--raising funds, establishing a taxing district, and securing land--the 70-bed Bethesda Memorial Hospital opened on February 9, 1959. Named after the biblical Pool of Bethesda, symbolizing healing, the hospital began with 32 doctors and six dentists. Its first patient underwent an emergency appendectomy, and its first baby was born just a week later. The hospital quickly grew, expanding within six months of opening. Today, as Bethesda Hospital East, it is part of Baptist Health and has evolved into a 401-bed, full-service medical center with more than 500 physicians across 40 specialties. It offers 24/7 emergency care, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, and advanced services in areas like cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedics, and women's health. The facility also features minimally invasive robotic surgery and an inpatient rehabilitation unit. Beyond patient care, the hospital plays an important educational role through its partnership with Florida Atlantic University's Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine and its own Bethesda College of Health Sciences, helping train the next generation of healthcare professionals. Even if you're just passing by, the marker is worth a moment of your time--it's a small but meaningful reminder of how far healthcare in this community has come.

My…read morefather went to the ER after having delusions, talking nonsense, constant sleeping, and severe weakness, not able to walk. Dr. Roberts spent time with us to understand completely my father's symptoms and history. He was genuine, kind, caring, and compassionate, and spoke to us in terms we could understand, explained tests the would take and why they were taking those tests and information they were going to be receiving. The nurse Caitlyn was also warm, friendly, compassionate & professional truly "caring" for my father. Every person from the front door registration at ER, all the male attendants who brought my father in and out of the room for testing, & up to the room for the night, and nurse who gathered the list of medicines, it was truly a blessing. This was the best ER experience we've ever had. Thank you to all the caring professionals at Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital East!
