I can't say enough good things about Dr. Loops and his staff - I called him after my elder kitty was diagnosed with a rare form of inoperable GI mast cell cancer and given 4 month prognosis and a torturous and astronomically expensive treatment plan (with less than 30% chance of success) from the oncologist. I refused to subject him to the side effects, the invasive tests, etc., with so little hope. That was when a friend recommended Dr. Loops. He was honest that a cure was unlikely, but could say that his treatment could keep the symptoms minimal and give Junior quality of life. I said the oncologist gave Junior four months. Dr. Loops has truly helped my dog with mast cell tumors. His staff is amazing, polite and responds immediately. Some other reviews have stated he asked odd questions- homeopathy is not western medicine and it involves the body and mind of the patient to create homeostasis. For example my dog scares easily, has separation anxiety, digestive upset.... this all factors into his illness it's about creating balance so the body heals. For those who thought he was expensive for a 10 minute consultation- I'd pay him double for what he's done for my dog- because his regular vet couldn't of been more wrong on the prognosis of my dog who he gave a death sentence to and that was 4 years ago! My experience so far has been very beneficial. After trusting our vet and vet clinic here in Hickory I abruptly became aware of the total incompetence I received at Viewmont Animal Hospital. After what I learned I wouldn't take my dead rat there. Dr. Loops is soft spoken and extremely pleasant. He listened to every word I said. His remedy protocol was I little overwhelming at first but after doing it a few times it becomes very easy. After a couple days I called and spoke to the lady answering the phone and basically confirmed our approach to be correct. I see a review critical of Dr. Loops pricing for his phone consulting. Looking at just the numbers and it does appear steep. But I am well satisfied. Looking past the consulting fee are the remedy cost. Together adding the total package and your pet is well on his or her way to recovery. He's not in business to answer questions; he's a consultant and a professional one at that. He listens, he confirms, he explains. Do your research ahead of time and learn as much as you can. Have your notes in front of you and stay on target with the subject matter for your best bang for your buck. I will recommend his services to anyone looking to improve there pets health. My 10-year old cat has chronic kidney disease, we originally looked Dr. Loops up hoping to help him feel better. But then we also found out he had injection site sarcoma as well as congestive heart failure. Had a consultation with Dr. Loops after he had his surgery to remove the cancerous tumor. Dr. Loops remedies really really help with my cats recovery! Especially with his appetite. He was very lethargic and not willing to eat for a week after surgery because of his weakend heart and his adverse reactions to pain meds, after we started him on the cell salts combination and his remedies, he is interested in all his favorite foods and seems like himself again! We won't know if he will have another heart episode or his cancer will come back, but just to see him feeling good and eating like he used to is worth everything to me, and frankly a miracle. I do not understand too much about homepathy medicine so it was a leap of faith. But really what harm can it do? The remedies are harmless with no adverse effects, and the consultation was much more affordable than normal vet visits. I strongly suggest anyone that feels like conventional medicine is not helping much to try talk to Dr. Loops and give it a try. I know if you wikipedia homeopathy it will tell you it's just a placebo effect. But it really is not. One of the crazy things that proves it is that I have been pouring the left over remedy to a indoor little lemon tree that wasn't doing so great. I've been using Dr. Loops for homeopathic consults since 1997 when my great dane came down with hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD). Back then, regular vets did not know how to treat this without steroids, and often the results were not good. Being connected in the great dane world across the nation to quality breeders, I was told that Dr. Loops would be my best resource. We had a very successful treatment, and I followed his regime rigorously. It was a bit unorthodox from traditional veterinary medicine, but I trusted him and those who had been in the breed for decades. Then in 1999, one of my puppy people took their newly vaccinated puppy to a new vet who overdosed him with new vaccines all at once because, even though I had given the vaccines myself under the supervision of my vet, he "couldn't accept" they were given properly. That poor puppy came down with the worst case of Vaccinosis I had ever seen, and his story became widely shared online when the internet was just coming out. Fast forward to now... I have a 10 year old great dane who has thyroid cancer. If you know anything about great danes, they rarely see double digits. I'm seeking Dr. Loops' assistance in ensuring my boy has a good quality of life while he's still with me. I see another person is not happy with the way Dr. Loops operates his business. That's the way he's always done it, and I'm happy to pay his phone consultation fee. He sees patients in office on a limited basis, and I'm thrilled to have his resources available to me anywhere I live. Here's the thing - a phone consult means you don't have to pack up your sick pet and cart them off the vet's office and wait and wait and wait to see the vet for the same amount of face-time as you get ear-time with Dr. Loops... and it actually winds up cheaper. I contacted Dr. Loops in November 2017 to help with the treatment of my Great Dane. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and many websites I read recommended Dr. Loops and his team as part of her treatment. We live in Texas but we were able to do a phone interview to get the process started. We received our first doses and began immediately. Unfortunately, we were not able to work with Dr. Loops very long as her ultimate demise was due to bloat. Truly terrible and traumatic but ultimately better than for her than to be in pain with bone cancer. I called Dr. Loops' office to let them know this had happened and left a message as they had already closed for the day. It was a terrible message as I was crying and could barely get the words out of what had happened to my girl. I never heard back from them that they received the message. I called back during office hours and was told that, yeah (name of person), got your message and they were sorry for my loss. I was very tender at the time which is why I waited so long to write this review. I still feel 4 months later that I expected more from an office that specializes in holistic care even if they are thousands of miles away. All of the local doctors/facilities and even dog food companies took a few seconds to send a card with their condolences. Nothing was received from Dr. Loops. Maybe you feel I am being too sensitive but I feel a call (them calling me) or card with their condolences would have been appreciated. It's been awhile (2 decades) since I called Dr. Loops and saw this review when I was looking for his contact info to refer to a client of mine. Dr. Loops has been referred to me by my vet when he couldn't find the source of a drooling problem my Maine Coon cat was having. Ripley had been drooling heavily for a couple days, it started on a Saturday after the vet closed and continued. He drooled so heavy he soaked through a magazine he was sleeping on in just hours. Monday came and we were in the vets office. Ripleys vet gave him a thorough exam and ruled out poisoning, tooth and gum issues. He was stumped. He suggested Dr. Loops & I set up a phone consult. Dr. Loops wanted to know a lot about Ripley, even everyday things - he told me he believed Ripley was suffering from a mineral imbalance. I honestly considered I was wasting my time, but when Dr. Loops sent an envelope we received two days later which contained a powder remedy and my sweet cat was still drooling, all over his fur and anything he came in contact with - I had to give it a try. It was one treatment - within hours, the drooling slowed down noticibly, two days later - it stopped completely and never returned. Back then, it was $40, but two decades later the quote the disser provided of $80 is reasonable IMHO Homeopathic Medicine isn't something everyone embraces as strong and powerful, but they are mistaken. I'm a believer and this experience with Dr. Loops helped me open my mind to acupuncture when one of my dogs had a back injury that appeared hopeless with 3 opinions. I called Dr. Loops' office to get a remedy -- and was told I needed to have phone consult to be sure we have the right remedy. For $80. For 10 minutes. Really?? Seems pretty cut and dried: listless after vaccination. The prescription, most likely, is always the same with slight variations. I work pretty hard for my money, and do not begrudge others making a living, but would have greatly appreciated a simple suggestion for someone who obviously does not need more than a minute or two to find out the facts. Our boxer was diagnosed with lymphoma. Desperate to extend her life and have some quality of life, we sought out alternative methods which led us to finding Dr. Loops. During an expensive phone consult, Dr. Loops asked questions that seemed completely unrelated to the issue of her lymphoma. I found that odd and should have responded to that red flag by discontinuing further work with him. But feeling desperate, I continued to follow his plan which included a regime of homeopathic remedies. The only good advice that we actually received and benefitted from was regarding diet changes: Get off of standard dog food. We began to cook for her. Eliminate starchy carbohydrates because carbs feed cancer. Meats. Add greens and can use complex carbohydrates: yogurt and cottage cheese. No carrots, potatoes, tubers or white rice. It is my belief that Dr. Loops is taking advantage of desperate owners. Our boxer lived 2 months beyond diagnosis. That was exactly the amount of time the diagnosing veterinarian had predicted. I believe the diet change helped her have pretty good energy levels for the next 6 weeks. The last 2 weeks of her life her energy level kept dropping. I do not believe the homeopathic remedies were beneficial at all and certainly did not lead to any remission. read more

I hate negative reviews, however, I felt the need to post this hoping someone in Charles Loops office or even he himself will think about it and perhaps have some consideration for future potential customers. I contacted Dr. Loops in June of this year, as my 12 1/2 year old miniature poodle had recently been diagnosed with lymphoma. After meeting with his regular vet as well as an oncologist, I decided, after much research to go the holistic route. Fredo was an active dog and just wanted to have his time remaining to be as close to normal as possible. I did the 5 minute conversation with Dr. Loops, then arranged the half-hour session. Dr. Loops asked many detailed questions about Fredo, his behavior, habits....etc. He then said he would send the remedies and other supplements that would help Fredo maintain a somewhat normal life with his condition. Everything was received in a timely manner and he asked to contact him with an update 3 to 4 weeks. I had called his office just short of 3 weeks because I noticed Fredo did not seem to have more energy that he thought he would and his panting/breathing was very loud and frequent. I did not get to speak with Dr. Loops, instead a gal in his office relayed the messages to and from....very frustrating waiting on the phone while she went back and forth. Two additional remedies would be coming and of course was charged a nominal fee for waiting while we played the back and forth game. About a week or two later I called because I needed another bottle of the supplements he was taking. This was on a Tuesday....ran out of them that Friday and then received a call the following Monday, asking me if I want a larger bottle. Wow....nothing like getting them to me in a timely manner, so after almost a week of not having them, I finally received a new bottle. Since receiving the additional remedies, no follow up from Dr. Loops was ever made. I find it interesting that the oncologist called me periodically to find out how Fredo was doing (he knew I took the holistic route), and the man I was paying just dropped communications. Sadly, I had to put Fredo down as he was declining rapidly and did not want to see him suffer. Even more sadly, Dr. Loops and his staff has no idea....who knows when they may finally realize why I have not called for additional remedies...etc. I knew what I was up against with Fredo's condition and have no negative comments about the remedies/supplements. We tried and made him as comfortable as possible and am grateful for that. The real problem is that I was only a number on a time clock and I never deal with doctors for myself or any other member of my family that would treat us like that so why would I tolerate this for my pet??? read more

I called Dr. Loops a year ago, when our dog was diagnosed with mast cell cancer and given less than 3 months to live. Having gone through this with another dog, I wanted to find an adjunctive therapy to the chemo he was going to go on. I read about Dr. Loops' practice and his work with cancer, and I called him. Our dog has been on Dr. Loops' homeopathic formulas for a year. In the course of this treatment, he also contracted Cushing's disease (adrenal tumor) from the high doses of prednisone he was on off and on. His hair fell out all over his back. The vet prescribed DMSO treatments. Dr. Loops sent an additional therapy and told us he'd had good success treating Cushing's. In two months, our dog's hair started coming back and our regular team of vets was thrilled. All in all, our dog has defied the odds as far as what was expected given his condition (4 tumors, high grade, removed w/ dirty margins AND then 3 months later a basket-ball sized tumor that cut off blood/lymph flow in his leg for a few days). The tumors we removed haven't returned and we've been able to control b-ball sized one, keeping it to more of a golf ball - tennis ball that doesn't phase him. I am convinced that Dr. Loops' therapies have and continue to play a significant role in keeping our boy happy and really enjoying life--pretty incredible for an almost 13-year old, 95-pound fellow no matter what! Dr. Loops is a thoughtful, intelligent vet with a broad perspective and years of experience on the Western and Homeopathic sides of veterinary medicine.
