"Invalid social security number" is simply a misleading error message. In our case, the transfer of data from Quicken (including the release of SSN) won't complete until after the effective date of the transfer. Then we will be able to make an online account. I am hoping the 60 day protection period ("expected and normal", per phone rep) for this transfer will mean that a naturally late payment (through no fault of our own - I cannot pay online without an account!) will indeed work out, and that the rest of the transition will be smooth. But as you can see, I am already a bit cynical. I will try to remember to update this review if things improve, though (with the caveat that a star will ABSOLUTELY be lost if there are extra fees for the convenience of paying online. This is 2020, folks. Paper is dead.) On the brighter side, our representative was very clear and kind.

I have no way to upload the documents to them as they do not accept emails. The only reason a company doesn't have an email address is because they want to steal your money and not release it to you. I was told I can apply for an exception, but that takes 7-10 days. They will end up making me late making my payments and causing me to pay a 3% late fee despite this being entirely their fault. UPDATE: They are still with holding my funds. I sent them my depreciation check from my insurance company and they are dragging their feet to process and now telling me I will need to get updated forms from my contractor instead of sending me MY money and letting me be the adult and pay my bills. Again this process has been absolutely beyond frustrating and its appalling that this company can have this many negative reviews and nothing can be done. I had no choice in them being my loan servicer and my insurance company and contractor have never had to deal with a mortgage company this involved in the process but they legally can not be removed from the insurance checks. 0 stars should be an option and you would see that this company is rated a lot lower than the rating it has. They have been nothing short of a nightmare to work with in getting my home repaired from damage. In fact, I think Frodo had it easier trying to destroy the ring in Lord of the Rings than I have with this process. They delayed the start of my project by dragging out sending me my initial check (from MY money that I was forced to send to them and they take hostage) They cited endorsement issues saying that it wasn't endorsed properly because my credit union used a stamp and didn't use a pen (not their policy) Eventually they sent me $20,000 to start my work. The work is now complete and they are playing games again. They have marked my final inspection at 95% even though the job is complete but will not tell me why. I am just told it takes 3-5 days to review before they can send me additional funds. They are sitting on over $20,000 that I need to give my contractor who has completed the job and I continue to get the run around. At this point I would rather live with a gaping hole in the side of my house until my mortgage is paid off then have to go through this process again.

A week later, as he had been moved to the rehab floor of the hospital and clearly was not going to be able to go to the beach in three short weeks, nor was my mother (or any of us as we needed to be close by to help with things), we began calling to try to cancel the reservation and get any kind of refund. No, we hadn't purchased the optional insurance (didn't really consider it - it's the beach in the state we live in and everything was just fine at that point). We were promised by more than one person that they would look into things and get back to us. After three such phone conversations, nothing had been done and we had never heard back from anyone as they'd promised. The company did not cancel the reservation as requested and, only days before the reservation date, said that per their policy no refunds of any amount could be issued less than 30 days prior to the reservation. While I understand policies such as this, one would hope that a severe medical emergency might constitute an exception and allow for at least a partial refund. We were not just trying to back out of a reservation, it was a legit significant medical issue that kept us from being able to go to the beach that week. I suppose my recommendation to others if you're going to book with this company is to purchase the optional insurance but then also hope nobody in your family has a significant medical emergency that prevents you from being able to actually use your reservation (unless you have $3000+ to just throw around).

To make matters worse, on our last day, someone entered out apartment and left our door open with a bag from inside the apartment. Find out days later, they did that to allow maintenence to enter to clean balcony...on our last day, ridiculous. I have been waiting for months to write this review. I held off until I got my tax return in the…read moreslight chance I needed them to get involved with the IRS. But this morning, after almost 7 months, I finally got my return. I will say that when I contacted Paul directly, he was apologetic about my service and refunded their fee. That is why they get one star. But aside from that this has been the most maddening tax season in almost 20 years of filing taxes. I contacted PIM in early Feb because I am military, wife is self employed, and she also has a W-2 from another state for teaching. Just a bit too complicated for us to do ourselves. I read reviews and PIM seemed to be a great choice. Well after finally getting through (left a couple messages before getting a call back), they scheduled me for an appt 4 weeks later. I was annoyed it was going to take that long, but figured it would be done correctly so its fine. What they dont tell you is that is just a consult appointment. You spend a hour with your tax preparer and then "They add you to the bottom of the pile". So we are already this much into it, and just had to keep going since everywhere else was already swamped. Our preparer, Tara, was respectful, but seemed ill-informed. We had a nanny over the summer and we paid a services to file all our tax paperwork for us. So she just had to add it to the childcare expense. She said she wasn't familiar with how that works and she had to ask someone about it. She also seemed to be confused with some easy stuff like how to file out of state W-2 with residency in another state. We should have cut our losses, but we didn't. We were already too far into it. Now started the first wait. Tara said it would be about 3 weeks. Nope. Almost 6 weeks later and no less than 10 ignored phone calls and multiple ignored emails we got our paperwork for review. Me, not a tax pro, took one look at it and noticed it was WAY off. Like, just simple childcare credit stuff was completely ignored. It was more than $5k less than expected. So I contacted Tara MULTIPLE times before getting a response and shared with her my concerns, and she said "Oh, I guess I can file your nanny expenses in your childcare". You guess? You guess?? I am paying a PROFESSIONAL to do our taxes and she has NO idea what the heck she is doing? And to make matters worse, in the response she said "I also noticed your state return didn't compute right, I have to spend some time figuring that out". So lets recap - not only did she MASSIVELY undercut our return, but she MASSIVELY over claimed our state return. And if I hadn't already been expecting a general number, I would have just said it looks fine and had her file it. Two weeks later, its filed. If all that wasn't enough, I had no idea that who is listed first on the return could impact filing, but guess what, it does. For the first time in our marriage, my wife was listed first for some strange reason. I didn't even notice when I reviewed it, but yup, she was. So because that is a change in how our taxes have been filed for the last 15 years, the IRS froze our return and required identity verification. Which, if you aren't aware, is a complete NIGHTMARE that ended up taking us almost 15 weeks, multiple hours on the phone with the IRS, and multiple hours verifying line by line our previous years returns. And its so nice when the IRS tells you "just make sure you are consistent with primary tax payer in the future to avoid identity verification". Noted. So NO. I do NOT recommend PIM. I may not have a recommendation for a Va Beach service, but I will always have recommendation on who to avoid. PIM. Avoid PIM.
