My privacy fence was knocked down by Hurricane Dorian a while back. Insurance was contacted, an adjuster came out eventually, and it was determined that the damage wasn't bad enough to constitute a claim. Anyway, that is for another review. I contacted Charleston Fence for a quote on replacing 3 of the four sides of my yard fence. Andy came out quickly and efficiently provided a quote via email and text. I had already requested permission from my HOA, but had I not, Andy and / or his team would've helped me with that process. The HOA took a full 30 days for a response, but again, that's for another review. We reviewed the quote and I provided Andy with a 50% down payment. Once we got the approval, Andy was able to give me a time when my fence would be replaced. As promised, they showed up on Thursday of last week to tear down the old fence and set the posts for the new one. Cleanup was superb, and even my neighbors commented on how great it looked after only the fence was taken down. The next day, they came in and put up on the new fence, and they were done about halfway through the day. The fence looks great. I'm really proud to have a Charleston Fence, and the neighbors all seem to love it too. Would be happy to recommend them to anyone looking for a new fence. read more

The salesman Matt was amazing and helped design a great layout that worked with our lot plan and he helped us on getting approval from our HOA. The bid he gave us was very fair and the work crew was top notch. They took two days to install the fence and the install came out great. This is our first home so also our first fence to ever get. Matt made it easy. He explained everything, handled all HOA requirements and city permits. He even got our fence built faster than we originally expected. He told us he'd put up the posts and then come back the next day and put up the fence. We didn't have to be home which was super convenient and there was absolutely no interruption to our day-to-day. He and his crew were quick, clean, and efficient. Hardware was a definite upgrade from anything I've seen before. It operates smoothly and Matt let us add a second gate at the last minute. We chose the privacy fence since we have a pretty big dog. So far our pups seem to really enjoy having a safe space to run around in and we don't have to worry about them bothering our neighbors. I've known the owner since he was in 7th grade. Our contractor used a DIFFERENT fence company to surround our property line. With our house on that property line we saw the terrible work ethic of the other company had. When we called Charleston Fence they were honest and told us we had about a 2 month wait. The estimate was below what I feared and I was happy to move forward. The installation of the fence was so efficient! Facts: Company provided fair and reasonable estimate for a 6 ft dog ear wooden fence but insisted that I pay them $500 deposit up front for a $1700 job that wouldn't be happening for over 7 weeks from now just to schedule the work. I said I would be happy to give them a good faith deposit of $500 when they first show up on site with the materials but they insisted they needed my money well prior to coming out. Opinion: Possibility of being defrauded without any reasonable justification offerred for a large deposit (no custom fence parts being order etc.)? A waste of time. read more

I got a quote from Charleston Fence back in the fall, and since then I have been saving up the money for this fence. I'm 24 years old so you can call it my second "big girl" purchase other than my house in Carolina Bay. That being said, you can bet I shopped around for this quote from many fence companies and Matt's price was by far the best. When I was ready to pay the deposit, Matthew took the time to let me know how the fence would be built, what it would look like, and was sure to ask me what I wanted out of the fence. Charleston Fence was amazing and very reasonable! Thomas and another guy, came out to take down and replace two of our wood fence gates and fix a corner which needed a post. Within less than 2 hours, they had it all complete and it was perfect! I couldn't have asked for anything better and they were one of the only companies of about 10 who not only replied at a reasonable time or at all, they helped with repairs to the fence. Lots of other companies would only build you a brand new fence (not just repairs) which is just odd. Thank you guys! You rock! read more

We hired Matt to put in a fence around our new pool complex. First of all, he came to the house and quoted us a very good price with no sales pressure - a welcome relief. Our project was delayed multiple times and Matt and his team were ready, willing and able to accommodate the crazy timing we threw at them and install our fence in sections so that we could have most of it completed but still leave an area open for final work to be completed elsewhere. They were extremely pleasant and professional to work with and always cleaned up following their work. Not only professional work, but courteous and polite workers as well. I originally scheduled my fence in the summer of 2018 and was told they were 8 weeks out. I had to cancel that appointment but had a terrible gate that prevented me from opening it to get my waste can out. Andrew came out and got the gate to open until I was able to reschedule the fence install. I rescheduled this Spring and what an incredible job. I kept changing things and adding things and they were so easy to work with. I had a fairly large privacy fence replacement with an addition to the front. It was done in two days, down one day and up the next. I wasn't home for the tear down but had a wonderful compliment from my neighbor about how polite and careful the workers were. When I called initially and throughout the whole installation, each time I contacted them they responded within reason. Highly recommend. read more
