The company caused $2133 in HVAC damages that three representatives refused to cover. Representatives claimed the damages were not their responsibility because of their contract. The exact verbiage from the contract is, "The Contractor is not liable for damage to hidden water, electrical, gas, and/or HVAC lines." However, in the photo sent of the damage, the HVAC line is clearly visible. When we pointed out that the line was clearly visible, they claimed they were still not responsible and would cover just $250 of the $2133, but only if we removed the 1-star Google review we had just left. I had Charleston Roof + windows replace my roof last year. There was a corner I showed to them that I was not happy about. There was no problem for them. Now their no problem is falling. I called them and they do not repair it under warranty. This is a job badly done and they declined to fixit 3 times. Shame on them. Don't have them to replace your roof. We called 3 roofing companies to come out and take a look at a leak in our roof in our new house. Charleston roofs + windows was the only one that came at the scheduled time. Garrett came and was very friendly and professional. Super nice guy. Fortunately for me he pointed out that my roof is fairly new and should still be under warranty. He did take the time, however, and went in our attic and on the roof and told me exactly what was causing the leak and he gave us a fair estimate in case we couldn't track down the roofing company from the previous owner of the house. He explained every detail to me and was great. Because of the professionalism that I had experienced with him I chose to have them do my roof. After his inspection of the roof, he brought me up to explain everything in detail. After contacting my insurance and filing a claim, he came back and we were able to schedule the job quickly. They just completed placing a new roof for me and I am very impressed with how smoothly the whole process was.  Starting with prompt return of my initial call, Michael Kelley worked with me helping me to understand what was needed, patiently answering questions and helping me choose the right type of roofing for my house.  He always answered  my phone calls, which I appreciated and valued such good customer service. The install was scheduled, and the crew showed up at 6:30am that day. They draped and covered vulnerable areas and worked all day removing the old shingles and placing the new roof.  Overseeing the progress at the jobsite was Adam Cobb.  He came to me a couple of times to update me on how things were going and see if I  had any questions. Alec Waring with Charleston Roofs and Windows showed up right on time to inspect a leak we had very recently discovered in our master bedroom. He was very polite and knowledgeable about the findings on what he believed was the source of the leak: a nail pop. He performed a temporary fix after inspecting the roof, and then the attic. Alec encouraged us to check back with him after a few more rainstorms to verify that the leak has stopped growing. He charged us nothing for the temporary repair. He refused any payment as a thank you for his time. I had a couple of leaks, one in my garage and one in my kitchen. I had called several companies for estimates. The first company came to my house and without stepping one foot on my roof, told me I needed a whole roof repair in the amount of 6,500.00 dollars. Michael from Charleston Roof came out. He walk my roof and took pictures of the areas that needed attention. He told me my roof was still in good shape for its age. My problem was with my ridge vent and how it was initially installed. They were out within a week to replace my ridge vent and repaired a couple of other items. The work was done very professionally, and the work area was cleaned up after they were finished. The service I received from Michael Kelly and this company was top notch from start to finish. Michael was so prompt, and kept such good communication throughout the entire process that I was actually skeptical at first, thinking I was getting scammed because businesses never seem to operate this well. I had originally contacted Charleston Roofs & Windows to get a quote for a ridge vent install, but upon inspection from Michael he found I had hail damage all over my roof. He was the ONLY contractor to actually get up on my roof to provide a quote for the ridge vent. At this point he recommended replacement of the entire roof as it made most sense. They will walk you through the entire insurance claim process, but ask you to sign into a contract with them for their time to do so. This is where I got concerned, having to sign my name on the dotted line, and lock in my service with them. Michale made sure to point out the maximum out of pocket expense I could pay, and provided line item detail of everything I would receive. Install was scheduled four weeks later, but delayed due to rain. However, the CR&W team made sure to get it done even though they had to work over the weekend. We replaced a 28 year old metal roof with architectural shingles. We cannot say enough good things about the roofing team. They removed each metal panel and lowered it to the ground, avoiding any damage to our dense landscaping. Because of electrical wires around our home, the 26 squares of shingles, weighing about 70 pounds each, as well as all roofing materials had to be hand carried up ladders to the roof of our elevated home.
