This dance studio also has a way of embarrassing and humiliating dancers when they miss rehearsals or deadlines. One of the overweight instructors yelled and humiliated my daughter in front of the class one time. We never complained about it because we assumed that that's the way missed rehearsals are dealt with here. Also, my daughter was not allowed to participate in a competition that was already paid for because she missed a rehearsal to support her brother on TV. If your child goes to this school, make sure you arrange your family's life around Michele's agenda. There's no such thing as refunds. Once she has your money, it's hers. Everything is expensive, including her $50 recital DVDs! She acts like she's such a good Christian but there's nothing Christ-like about the way she runs this business.

I'm very athletic and competitive, but I'd never danced in my life and felt enormous fear in any dance setting. Six months later now, I've fallen in love with dancing, with the beauty of Latin, smooth, and swing music, and my new family at Arthur Murray. South Charlotte's instructors are very talented, patient, and deeply passionate about social dance and enabling each pupil to meet their goals. Lesson plans are perfectly situated to teach new dances and dance combinations while encouraging etiquette and confidence to dance in a social or club setting. Over six months, I've become very comfortable with Rumba, Club Swing, Salsa, and Merengue. I've gained a limited proficiency of FoxTrot, Waltz, Nightclub Two-Step, Triple-Step, and several others. Under their training and mentorship, I've learned to analyze music and discern rhythm. I'm confident being in the center of the dance floor, and dancing in any setting! All this to say that I am a product of the studio and setting I've been taught in. My hugest thanks to Cassandra, Mrs. D, Miss Ana, and Chase! I actually know someone there that has taught my daughter in the past (at another organization) who is now part of CYB and she is a very talented young lady. My only issue with CYB is their web site in conjunction with their venue box office does not update the information properly. If a performance has been sold out for a week I would expect CYB and the venue box office web site and voice recordings reflect that information.
