I called in advance to make sure that X-ray was internal to the urgent care so that I wouldn't get a bill. Two months later the bill came anyway, with due date 2 business days later. Called to get it resolved and was on hold 10 minutes before connected to a "human." They claimed they never got the insurance info, even though I had given them the card in person when we were at the facility. When we were there they also put the tiniest "protection" over my daughter for the X-ray, ensuring lots of unnecessary radiation exposure. read more

Be careful when setting up a payment plan for your balance due. I set up a plan to make monthly payments and was making the payment on time each month. I received a notice that the balance had been turned over to collections. I contacted Charlotte Radiology to discuss this and all they could tell me was it was the "systems" fault and was automatically turned over. They confirmed they were receiving the payments but yet would do nothing about it. I had to call the collection agency and explain it. Secondly thankfully I received a second opinion! After my ultrasound they were scheduling me for surgery. I followed my instinct and received a second opinion. The other physician looked over their notes and then did his own ultrasound. The conclusion was that surgery was not necessary and in fact would not have resolved anything. If you choose this facility I HIGHLY recommend a second opinion. read more

UPDATE 8.20.20: I received a call from CLT Rad today regarding my experience with the scheduler yesterday. She agreed that the call did not meet their standard of care, and apologized. She also said she spoke with the scheduler. She confirmed an appointment for me, and listened to my suggestion about adding a spot on their website for people to contact them about customer service. In turn, I apologized for resorting to a public forum to air my complaint. Oh. And the mammo will be a screening one now because of digital tamography. It's so detailed that you don't need a diagnostic one for complicated tissue anymore. So I was wrong about needing that. THIS is why I have been have been going to CLT Rad for 18 years! I've changed my rating from 1 to 5 stars. EXPERIENCE 8.19.20: Just tried to call to set up an appointment for a mammogram. It was after 5. The person who answered the phone did not identify herself by name. I explained that I'd like to set up the appointment for a diagnostic mammogram. She asked for my details and then told me I've never had a diagnostic one and why would I now? I told her I've been told that I always have to have a dx one because I need more detail than the screening one. She again insisted. I repeated that I've been told I can't have a screening one. Then I said, "That's ok. Just go ahead and schedule me for the same type of exam that I had last year." She kept going back to my request for the diagnostic one. I repeated that I'd just make an appointment for the same thing I've had in the past. Perhaps I was mistaken in the way I stated my request. After the 3rd or 4th of time of her insisting my request wasn't right, I finally told her, "That's ok. I'll just call back another time," and hung up. Here's the thing: I take these kinds of calls myself. I know what the end of the day is like. I also know that customers are sometimes wrong about what it is they really need. She could have just gone ahead and scheduled me for what I've had in the past. But she chose to be curt and bordering on rude about it. Why am I writing this on Yelp? Because the Charlotte Radiology site doesn't have an understandable way to make a complaint. Have something positive to report? Easy! Click a button and fill out a couple of boxes! Other than this experience, I have to say I've been going to this practice for 18 years and the visits and people in the office are magnificent. So. Call during the day. I have been doing my MRI and mammogram for several years and these people have good staff for it but customer service and to reach by phone are horrible, sometimes it could be months to make an appointment or if someone answer the phone they transfer it and never nobody answer, they have to improve next time I will ask my doctor to get another place to go, they are terrible for make appointee, poor service. read more

This location is convenient and the staff are friendly and courteous. I arrived four hours early for my appointment and they gladly worked me in. After about 30 minutes, I was on my way out of the door. Had I arrived at my appointment time, I would have been in and out in about 15 minutes. Great location with easy access. read more

I am a breast cancer survivor and have been a patient here for mammography for over ten years. I have been treated well and experienced warm, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. After my mammogram, a radiologist has always met with me afterwards for discussion. Therefore, when I leave, I feel secure in the knowledge that everything is okay. read more

I guess when your the only game in town you can treat patients any way you want to. They read my CT scan for kidney stones and after insurance paid, I had a balance of $346.00 Now keep in mind not every one has a spare $350 laying around, so I had to make payments. The first payment I made was $96 reducing the balance to $250. I then made $50 a month payments for the next 2 months reducing the balance to just $150. Then the bills stopped coming and all of a sudden I receive a letter from a collection agency for the $150! Even though I was making regular monthly payments, I guess they decided that the bill was not going to get paid in full fast enough to suite them and they decided to send me to a collection agency. If they had been patient, in just 3 months, the bill would have been paid in full and they would have collected the full amount. Now due to their impatience and uncaring attitude toward the their patients they will only get a partial amount of that $150 because the collection agency will take a cut of that. And now I will take my own sloooow sweet time paying this balance off. I know a lot of people skip out on paying their bills, but when you see a patient making regular monthly payments and they have already paid more than 60% of the balance due, why in the hell would you turn them over to a collection agency???? read more

A few years ago I had an MRI Breast Biopsy. They left the Port in my arm & I didn't notice until I was 2/3 of the way home & had to get my child from school. I called & asked if I could go to a different location to get it taken out-- They didn't know what to do. I picked up my child then I showed up at a different location of CR close to my home to just have the Port Removed. They were so scared to touch me it took them 45 minutes to get a tech to even agree to remove it ( Should have just turned around & gone back to uptown). They finally took it out & it was fine.....When I went for another MRI sometime after that- the Tech said they all knew about that incident and had a big training on it afterward--- But they never even called to apologize about leaving the port in. Now- their prices for Mammograms have gone up around 300% in 3-4 years and are SUPER HIGH & they are unaffordable & unapologetic about it & act like rude robots on the phone with NO empathy & seemingly no care for humans & will not work with you to reduce the OOP price- Even during COVID when people are hurting financially. ( even though the self -pay rate is way lower).... Also- I had an MRI & Mammogram within 6 months... Before they had even added the Mammogram on to the Bill, ( & I had paid IN FULL- my OOP amount for the MRI-right after getting the bill for it They sent ANOTHER bill in less than 30 days- with the additional amount owed threatening collections... ( 1st time I had rec'd the amount owed for the Mammo). They are Ruthless & Money hungry. read more

No one enjoys having a breast exam or an MRI but if you gotta have one this is the place to go. The staff is always very pleasant and professional. I've been getting my breast exams here for the past 8 years. And my mom just recently became a customer here. It's convenient for me because my doctor is in the same building as well as my mother's. Waiting room is clean and spacious. I've never had to wait too long to be taken back. Overall, no complaints! read more

A good enough place. Everyone friendly and their system of moving you along without much wait is perfected. They try hard to accommodate everyone. Waiting room dated, and there is no patient privacy when you check in. So if you are a HIPPA junkie afraid your mother in law is following checking up on your breast health go somewhere else! read more

I can't say enough great things about this center! They are courteous and caring, never a long wait. I get a diagnostic mammogram due to a previous problem. The radiologist gives me the results right away and that relieves so much anxiety. Since I always needs extra views I get them over in just the one visit. I am moving out of state and if insurance allowed I would still return to Huntersville for my mammogram! read more

First time visiting this office at Charlotte Radiology. The staff is very professional but a smile goes a long way. I came in this time for a screening mammogram and I must say I was a little disappointed with this being October-Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I am now a retired mammographer but we would decorate the office(inside and outside), give little gift bags to the patients and have different ways to get the word out about breast cancer and the importance of having a mammogram. read more

At the very least the communication there is extremely poor. My NP, Leigh McGowan referred me to the radiology center, downstairs in the same building, for an ultrasound. By refer I mean made an appointment for me after telling me I just needed an Ultrasound. They signed me up for a mammogram. I called and told them, since my NP was pretty sure I only had a lipoma I only wanted an ultrasound. I was told they would do that first and a mammogram if necessary. When I got there they told me the, more expensive, mammogram was what they do first. I asked for the ultrasound they said that would only be done if necessary. Unfortunately I felt like I had no choice, and did the mammogram. Then after it came back negative they did an ultrasound. I asked the Dr why they are doing an ultrasound and if there is ever a situation where they wouldn't do one. She said no, they always follow up a mammogram with a consultation and ultrasound. - Again at the least their communication is horrible because the story changed three times, four, if you count my NP telling me I was only getting signed up for an ultrasound. And at the worst - what I suspect happened was that they gave me the full gamut of tests, as a money grab, knowing damn well I didn't need them. read more
