Attempting to donate Bone Marrow for an already selected recipaint, sent to Concentra South End for pre-procedure exam - absolute worst experience EVER - Appt was for 9:00am, arrived early as instructed for potential paperwork, ended up having to fill out EVERYTHING that was previously done online a week prior, Receptionist was clueless as to anything & everything - waited over an hour past appt time but no worries, I was busy filling out duplicate paperwork handed to me at 15-20 minute intervals (they forgot to add this & that) - I know the stigma of urgent cares are the bastard children of healthcare, but a little efficiency & effort goes a long long way - glad this wasn't a true medical issue on my part - once in the back, the waiting truly got to be unbearable - if your injured, sick, or sent by another agency, I highly recommend going elsewhere read more

This has been the worst experience with concentra. 3 hours in the waiting room!! They lost my paperwork, we resent it, but they didn't know the security code to access the confidential information on their own equipment. So we resent it again...and by the line of questioning other patients were receiving, "unreceived" documents was a thing. Once I got back to the medical staff, things went smoothly but the the front desk staff needs work, and that's putting it nicely. Unfortunately I didn't get to chose where I'd have my pre-employment screen done but I absolutely will insist on somewhere different! read more

Was turned away because they "don't accept my out of state insurance" however my insurance is not out of state and the insurance company themselves said that this location is contracted with them. Was also told they do not have doctors on site that can prescribe medication. So, not sure what goes on behind the doors here but apparently it's not medicine. read more

Was told that it'd be an hour wait five or take a few minutes. It's now an hour and forty minute wait at the time of this review. And they've told me I was next to be seen and I've seen four people go ahead of me and be seen. read more

Without a doubt the clerk at the desk gifted me with the absolute rudest experience I can remember. If I want to be barked at, I'd go back to basic military training. I had to have a UDS, physical, lab draw & respirator fit test. Scotty provided beyond exceptional service! He was kind, made the experience great with his bubbly personality, knowledge and clinical skills! I was experiencing severe abdominal pain and I do not have insurance . The location I was at said their card machine was not working and they could not accept debit or credit . They refused to bill me or give me service untill I walked across a busy street during rush hour to get cash while I was doubled over in pain. I am slip on this so I will give on the side of oK. I made a reservation with TSA and showed up only to be told first I had no appointment. Then I showed them my email and they said welllll there is no one to do this now(it was for a job). So i had to miss a full half day of work because they had opendd all my stuff up and then told me I had to come Monday AM or they woudl have to decline me and I would have to go get a new kit. What a disappointing experience. Not feeling well and knowing my Primary Care Doctor's office had closed I decided to run to Urgent Care. Unfortunately this was an upsetting experience. Upon arriving I was quoted 25 minutes. After 40 minutes I approached the bench and was told it was 25 minutes until I would be checked in...not what I was told. I wsa finally asked to Check In and asked how long it would be to get to see the doctor. She said that would be another 25 minutes and to finally see the doctor could be another 45 minutes..Seriously? I decided to stick with them and finally made it back to see the doctor. The nurse was nice and when the doctor finally arrived she was nice as well and addressed my concerns very thoroughly. Unfortunately my last ten minutes were the best, but overall what I nightmare. read more

I've been to my share of "Doc in the Boxes" in my life and this could have been THE best one I've ever been too! I had just the opposite experience as my Yelp buddy Kate.....they quoted me a time and I got in FASTER that what they promised! And got out even faster! Woo hoo! The staff was very nice, and the facility is less than 5 years old and it is MUCH BIGGER inside that how it appears from the exterior. I have never been offered anything to drink before at a medical clinic (yes WINE would have been my preferred choice but the water sufficed).......Still it helped my swollen scratchy throat. This facility is clean and the lady Doctor was pleasant and efficient....which is exactly what I wanted and needed! From my other fellow Yelpers, it appears that this place isn't consistent in its operations. But I can only rate it based upon my experience and, in COMPARISION to other Urgent Care facilities, this was a 5 star experience (IF that's even conceivable at a medical facility)! read more

Fairly organized, very sterile, friendly staff. They have the waiting room divided for the two doors, one urgent and the other for the not so much. pretty straightforward check-in, a nurse takes you back and gives you the normal height/weight/bp rundown, and then they have a time table set up and let you know that after you're taken to the room, they expect a doctor to be in in (so many) minutes, and write it on a small board in the exam room. My doctor did arrive in the amount of time stated. woo hoo. I re-iterated my issue, he talked about it, checked over me, and started his schpeel. I tried to interject with some patient history while he was hypothesizing, he may have heard me, but not sure if I would call it listening. I left with a few prescriptions in hand, but the meds mostly treated the smaller symptoms of a larger issue, and I don't think going back to them would give me a much different result, but that's what my normal doctor is for, when she's available. Overall, in a pinch, I'd go back. It was clean, it was speedy, though overly sterile and clinical in the personal way. And they really don't seem to dig deeper than the quickest route to the door. infections, broken bones, very visible symptoms, flu (when they don't misdiagnose and you actually have pneumonia) - they'll take care of you for sure. So, yes, they excel in the "urgent" half almost to a fault, leaving those of us with extended symptoms and with no other doctor availability not always able to find help. They do, however, offer snacks and water while you wait in the lobby and in the exam room - so there's a perk! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I stopped by this location after work to be treated for a persistent cough and after waiting about 40 minutes, I was seen and on my way (with no tests done) with 4 different prescriptions, including an antibiotic because the doctor didn't have a diagnosis. That's just the beginning of my horrible experience with Concentra. Two months later, I got a bill in the mail demanding that I pay $110 within 15 days for a line item that read "SVC PRV OFFICE REG SCHEDD EVN WK." As if I'm supposed to understand what that means? When I called their billing department, the agent couldn't give me a definitive answer as to what this was for and said it sounds like they charged me additionally for an after hours visit... Nobody had said anything to me about an after hours fee, especially $110... After trying to get answers about this policy, the agent hung up on me and I had to call back and speak to customer service, who didn't know anything about this fee. In the end the fee was waived but unless you want to deal with a situation like mine, avoid this place all together and just go to a CVS Minute Clinic if you need an urgent care. read more

I didn't really like this check in process. When I called in to ask them when they closed I let her know that I was getting a TB test. When I got there about an hour before they closed they said something about the courier and its a timed test (TB Blood test). I would have thought that when I said TB the woman would have asked me what type of TB test and then she could have told me about the courier and what not. I guess its also partly my fault for not saying blood tb test. This place doesn't have blood collection chairs, so I was laid on a bed to have my blood taken (ratchet) I just didn't like this place at all. I hope that my company doesn't schedule any of my other tests here because if they do I am going to tell them to cancel it and schedule it somewhere else. read more

I got here for a drug test 10 minutes before opening and the one person in front of me hasn't been called back yet but we've been here for 2.5 hours. There are now 24 people in the waiting room for a drug test. Approximately an hour ago, I was told that the wait time is 2-3 hours as they have no staff here to run the drug screening. I visited Concentra two times in recent months after a car accident and then another minor injury. I was new to the area and did not yet have a primary care doctor and I was dreading an urgent care visit. Surprisingly, the wait time for both visits was reasonably short. I saw a different doctor for both visits, but both were great. Good bedside manner, attentive, and capable. They called a few days after each visit to check in and make sure I was comfortable with the medication and improving as expected. And to top it off, the charges were quite low (in my opinion) for the services completed, which was great because I was paying out of pocket as I had not yet met my deductible. I will, however, add that my boyfriend has also gone there (he saw a different doctor). He came home complaining that she cut him off and would not let him speak or fully explain his pain/symptoms. He felt she did not seem all that interested in diagnosing him. Instead, she just wrote him a prescription and told to follow up with his primary care doctor (which he does not yet have). Clearly the actual doctor has a huge impact on your overall experience. I will happily return if I find myself in need of urgent care in the future. read more

I visited this urgent care center after I slammed my thumb in the car door. When I realized how swollen my finger was & how much pain I had, I knew I should see someone, but it was New Year's Day. I called this location- the closest to me and the receptionist was very helpful. I went in right away there were only a few people waiting. The staff was very helpful to me since I couldn't write; they completed the paperwork for me and they were very attentive. I was taken to an exam room and seated, after normal intake questioning, height, weight, etc. I had two people come into tell me the doctor would be with me shortly and he was; I waited only a few minutes before the doctor came in. This doctor was incredible! Dr. DiPietro explained what my options were for treatment and how I could expect the finger to heal. After a quick procedure, he bandaged my thumb and sent me on my way. I cannot recommend this place more highly. I thought the staff was wonderful and the doctor was great; considering it was a holiday, I couldn't ask for more. read more

The front desk screwed up my pre screening paperwork by putting the wrong employer on it. Then insisted that it was correct when I informed them that a mistake had been made. Ultimately the incompetency and negligence of the staff cost me from getting the job. My only advice is to Avoid this place like the Bubonic Plague. read more

Do not use this place! Recently Veterans has been given the opportunity to use urgent care and this place is one of the approved locations. Let me tell you that you will wait longer here than the VA ER. I sat in a waiting room over an hour and was told that it was the normal. The female blonde Dr spent no more than 3 minutes in my room and wasn't the nicest. I hope the VA takes this off of their approved list because veterans deserve better. Honestly this is the worst experience I have ever had. I literally don't write reviews ever but this was that bad. I came at 1:00pm for a drug screening and was told the wait time would be 30-60 minutes. At 1:30 I hadn't been seen and had to leave for work - no problem. I was told that was their busy time and if I came back later it should be less of a wait. I came back after work at 5:30pm, checked in and was told I would be seen "shortly". At 7:00pm I asked when I would be seen. They said probably 30 more minutes because they stopped drug screening to focus on something else. Completely ignoring the patients in the waiting room. It is now 7:15 and I am sitting here writing this review, almost 2 hours since I walked in the door. I refuse to leave because I've already wasted enough time here and never want to come back. I would have MUCH rather had the front desk tell me 2 hours from the start instead of misleading me saying I would be seen shortly. Completely inconsiderate and inefficient. However, I have been coming to get bloodwork done for 3 years and neither myself nor my coworkers have had a single happy experience with the PA's here. I want to thoroughly thank the staff at Concentra for taking such good care of me! I had to stop in for an unexpected emergency, so, due to this, I naturally didn't have an appointment. Because of my condition, they got me into a room within moments and didn't leave my side for a second. Karen (PA) and Melissa (PA) took special care of me and kept me calm and collected while I was in their care. I really want to thank these ladies for being there for me. It means the world! Not sure why people are complaining about the wait times...Urgent Care is inherently strife with long wait times because there are no pre-scheduled appointments and providers do not know how long each encounter will take. Those folks expecting to get in an out in a matter of minutes need to reset expectations. I've been here many times during non-peak hours and had a few minute turnaround each occasion, that said I've also come during peak hours and had to wait 30-45 minutes. I have only had good experiences with this Concentra, and the staff is super friendly and efficient. You have to chalk up some of their robotic responses to interacting with a varied customer base. I recommend this place if you need urgent care, or an impromptu immunization. read more
