I have been coming here for years. I value a company that takes care of their own! But I will NEVER walk through the doors of this establishment again!! A woman and her child was getting the Alkaline water. On ALL three stalls a note is on the wall that states, "Please do not leave your water unattended". When I walked up, no one was standing beside any of the three stalls with running water! So let's recap. Company signage stating, do not leave your water unattended. This is being done. Woman comes back and I politely say, "ma'am you should attempt to follow the rules, each of us must foster a courtesy society". That's it! No tone, except of human to human let's do better. Woman looses it! Kid standing there. She starts ranting about how I'm bothering her, and being mean. I say, still calm...l"I'm simply having a conversation of manners, how is this wrong". She then assumes the role of hurt foreigner who "doesn't understand English". Now we're going back and forth. The light skin gentlemen with the pony tail walks over and says some stupid knock knock joke. Neither of us diffuse. Recap. "Distressed foreigner who doesn't speak English well "--which is NOT THE case. The bitches she was calling me was coming out just fine! He immediately takes her side. Assumes the commotion was generated my me Said woman was white, not white, but not black. She was speaking Italian. I. I am black. Everyone calms down and as I'm walking my water to my car, the black lady of darker melanin was holding the door. I say " I can't believe that escalated so quickly". She waives her hand at me and states, "I don't want nothing to do with that. That's why I walked away". Still an assumption the person of color was the aggressor!! I WILL NEVER COME BACK. I get a-lot of water from here for my company, DPR Construction. DPR will never come back. As heightened as temperatures are. To assume anything. As staff they should have ASKED! Coming here over a decade. Quality/ high caliber items and the best price I've seen, even better than Vitacost, which I used in the past for my Supplements. They also outdo WholeFoods and EarthFare. Staff always willing, helpful and informative. Owner is the BEST!!! I've followed them for (3) of their moves as they have outgrown each location. They are diligent in supporting the community. I've been coming here for two years now and never had an issue until today. This new white woman was walking around the store following and watching the black patrons only. She kept checking there baskets to see if they had anything in there that they weren't paying for. Mind you, she NEVER did this to the white patrons in the store, only the black ones, as to say, only black people steal. Now, she didn't say anything to me, but as we all know, actions speak louder than words. And even when I was at the counter paying for my things, she STILL came over and inspected my cart. I gave her a stern look and she walked away. I don't know if they had some issues with stealing, but if this is how they are going to handle it, I'm never going back there again. I'm not impressed with this place. We moved here from California and we really liked our small business nutrition shop back in Cali, but since we are here now we came here. This place lacks customer service. You get the we don't care about business vibe. Since we needed some things we spent $160. Chose to come here after it was recommended by a friend. Tried looking them up online and called to see if the product I needed was there, and the price. The message on the phone informs to email Tom in reference to inquiring about an item, so I did as soon as I hung up. I waited for a few hours with no response, so I found the store and stopped in on my way to a meeting. I located the item on my own, though I am sure if I had asked for assistance, I would have received some. The other thing that bothered me, though I failed to notice until later since I left rather hurriedly to get to my meeting, was that the price they rung my item up for was different from the price on the shelf...by about $2! I was bothered by that, but I would likely return...unless I find the item I need for cheaper elsewhere or online. The store seems pretty big with a lot of different products there. My co worker told me about this place, she said I should come here to refill my water bottles with 9.5 pH alkaline water for cheap less than 75¢. Customer Service is Terrible!! It's very difficult to get assistance In store and the staff doesn't seem appreciative of their customers. I have shopped there several times and spend a few hundred dollars each time, and I never get a "thank you" when I check out. One employee in particular seems to always have an attitude of superiority and only seems friendly/helpful to other "gym rats". If you don't fit that category he doesn't want to help or make you feel welcomed! My son's barber told me about this place. I'm here EVERY weekend for alkaline water. They also have the natural deodorant that I like. They have EVERYTHING! I also purchase the woodroot tonic (my West Indian friends swear by it), and I pick up protein or even the alkaline coffee. I really like this place. Extremely disappointed. Send an email inquiring about pricing availability for two items. Told me they were available but would not indicate a price because they did not want me to comparison shop. I am unable to travel due to no vehicle at the moment so therefore I can't go from store to store and comparison shop during this difficult time. Sold me three 2lb containers of spoiled protein. Once opened the vanilla was the color of chocolate and smelled like spoiled milk. Informed the owner and he told me to take it up with the company, seriously!?! He went on to say he would never do business with them etc, but wouldn't give me a refund on the $75 dollars of spoiled goods I purchased! What a crook! Also a bottle of pills I purchased had a broken capsule, not a big deal, but just aggravating when your supplement taste like crap. They are always great to my three boys and have organic animal crackers behind the counter for the kids. Only being open till 5:30 during the week means most of us that work can never get here and then Saturday is the only day available since it's closed Sunday. So look around and you may find some better stuff then you usually get for far less. They also carry a fantastic amount of items, so you can compare them side by side.
