Honestly I was going to do business with them but I found their prices to be outrageous I lived at the time in Gwynn Oak MD 21207 and I was going to be putting a couple of plastic containers about 4 total and about 4 additional boxes too which everything was downstairs ready and packed up to the storage unit that like 5-10 minutes away ( NO FURNITURE) and the set price was 400.00 that's outrageous I actually was able to find way cheaper option I understand that they're a business but that's ridiculous for the distance and the number of idems I was requesting to be moved so in spite of the professional conduct which was good unfortunately based on my review in full I can only give this business 1 star ... read more

When looking for movers I knew Yelp wouldn't STEER me wrong. It was easy to request a quote from several Yelp guaranteed moving companies then communicate with a few to get the best rate. Charm City Movers was professional from start to finish. I completed a Moving Quote Request on a Saturday, and they called me on Monday with some questions. Andrew was very friendly and professional. My move included moving furniture from White Marsh to Mount Washington, with a stop in Timonium to drop off and pick up more items. A three stop move with lots of stairs at each location was quoted at $750. This was reasonable since I had anticipated spending about $1,000. Their window for a Friday move date was between 10-12. They called when they were about 20 minutes away and met me promptly at 10 AM. Four guys in a huge truck arrived and got right to work. Within half an hour we were on our way to the second stop to drop off a bed and retrieve the rest of the furniture. Off we went to the third and final stop to unload everything. I was nervous about large items fitting up a narrow stairwell, but the guys assured me that if I had measured right, they would have it all fitting in the apartment in no time. That they did. When everything was unloaded, the driver went over the listed items and made sure everything on the list had been moved and put in the apartment. The price quoted was the price I paid, and they were done in exactly two hours. I tipped each guy in cash and felt a huge sense of relief when they drove away - knowing moving day was successful and complete. Great customer service and fast and efficient movers. read more

I loved Felix, she was very nice and quick with packing my items. I had Chris come pack before. I'm not sure who packed my dishes by I did have several broken plates, bowls and a vase. I had a pretty hectic move in day because of my personal oversight on what I needed day of move. I will say the mover driver was a bit predatory because they had to wait for me to get my cashiers check and it was a Sunday where all banks are closed. He said he would have to charge me for the wait time but then when it was time to pay made it seem like he made that up as a way to get more money out of me and said he could just apply the wait time fee to the tip instead. I did not appreciate that as I was already planning to tip. I will say when the company I used previously I did appreciate that they wrapped everything they moved. This company did not do that I'm not sure if it is something they offer and it's just extra. Overall my biggest issues was with the movers and that I lost a few items but overall a decent experience. read more

Feth, Darrick, Tank and Clay was the best team I had experienced regarding my 1 bedroom move from Randallstown 21133 to Columbia 21045. Feth called prior the appointed meet up time to confirm the moving crew was on the way and they arrived promptly on schedule. The whole team was polite and moved my items with a sense or urgency and there was no issues at all during this move. The drive was about 20 miles one way and the move was completed within 2 hours. Charm City Movers were just what we needed! They had not only great customer service but also reasonable pricing and were totally up front and honest. We were looking to move several pieces of furniture from my husband's uncles house to our own. One of the pieces was a pool table which the customer service person, Felix was super helpful in recommending that while they could handle the moving of it we would need to get a pool table company to come put it back together and that it may be cheaper in the long run just to have them move it instead. Considering, I didn't even think of that I was truly grateful. They were able to move all of the furniture minus the pool table from Howard County to Harford County in just a few hours. This included several books shelves, a table and chairs, a few boxes and a china cabinet. It was done very quicky and efficiently. The communication was great and everything was completed smoothly. Im at an age where it is hard to get friends to help you move and we are all too old to move heavy stuff so I decided to hire a mover. I got several estimates and Charm City was $900 less than the next closest. My move was an hour and a half away. I had to move a full 2 BR apartment I packed everything so they just needed to load it into a truck and unload in my new place. They showed up at 8:53 with a schedule 9 AM start. They were started at 9 and by 9:45 they had everything loaded and we were on the highway. We arrived and they unloaded everything and were on their way at 12:15. Polite, mannerly, and hard working movers. I highly recommend you check them out if you are in the area of Baltimore. I don't know what their service area is entirely. I did a bit of shopping around, and finally, after assessing availability and price, I landed with them. Let's start with the good ... I found them to be direct, simple, and efficient. They arrived on time, and within 40 mins, they were done. The same thing is true for the delivery at the new location. It was quick and easy. Now to the bad ... they had multiple individuals trying to coordinate and communicate with you instead of having one individual. Which created communication issues. After they delivered, they stated that the price had changed due to how many steps they made. It was explained to me before that the price would not change unless there were additional items, which there was none. In addition to the $550, they charged me an extra $200. Lastly, after delivery, I noticed that some bags were opened. After further inspection, I discovered that multiple items were missing from secured bags. Overall, I would not recommend them or use them again. I would rather pay extra to make sure that all my items are securely delivered and the prices don't change, and if it does, the manager or supervisor calls and advises me directly. read more

Stated a price to move.. after arriving to location the quoted priced to move less than three blocks changed from 750 to 550 , the quote was for going up to forth floor. 2 beds , bags. Two tvs dinning room table and chairs .. one bed was moved. They only brought down one tv..then the driver proceeded to bitch about bags etc..and he has to go to another job.. here's where his lie doesn't add up.. the movers where to show around 2pm 3pm .yet the driver calls and says on the way around 12 pm.. they arrived way before 2pm which is cool..yet to say your in a hurry at around 2pm. They time you where to arrive..then you don't have to go blocks . Only 2 guys brought a TV out.. and he wouldn't put other bags on a half empty truck ,left the chairs to dinning room rushing to leave. . $550 for this... read more

The best moving experience I've ever had! The entire move took less than two hours!! (local move of a 1br apt) and Moses and his team were kind, friendly, and very careful with my furniture. When I called to book the move, the lady I spoke with was also really friendly and helpful and gave me some tips on how to make the whole thing go smoothly. I also really like the way they price their estimates based on the work load, not the time it takes to move. This seems like a really fair way of pricing- for the client and for the movers who are doing the hard work. I ordered a 273 pound recliner sofa delivered via freight. The place I bought it from was no longer offering white glove in-room delivery because of the coronavirus pandemic, but I figured my dad and I could handle the job of moving the thing into my house, down a narrow flight of stairs, negotiating a tight corner, and into a room in the basement. Could not have been more wrong. So sitting outside in front of my house is this big, heavy, unmovable sofa. I called Charm City Movers, and they sent over Quentin and another guy the next morning. Given my experience trying to move the thing with my dad, I had doubts that two people could do it, but they proved me wrong. Now that it's been about a week since our move, I can accurately reflect on the whole thing. CCM was recommended by family when we unexpectedly got an offer on our house...with the stipulation that we close and move the day before Thanksgiving! Obviously this wasn't ideal for anyone but Charm City didn't have a problem returning my call and getting me a quote about a month before moving day. (I sent out several requests to other companies, but they either didn't get back to me or shoved me into a marketing funnel that was beyond annoying.) We opted for their pro packing service to cover the kitchen items and other breakables, and while that is certainly a luxury, it's worth it if you're short on time and patience, which I certainly was. Felix arrived the day before our move and packed everything with speed and care, which is quite a combination. She also performed a walk through of our house to make sure all the items we'd need moved were accounted for on our inventory. NOTE: Make sure you are thorough with your inventory before you submit it to CCM. They will review it with you but we definitely missed some items in the flurry of activity that just happens when you move, and it did add to our final cost. They were great about working with us on our quote and final cost, however, so I appreciate that. ALSO NOTE: Make sure that boxes are included in your inventory! They will probably ask, but that is one thing that slipped through the cracks of our quote initially and had to be accounted for. As for the actual movers, they did a great job. They showed up on time, were extremely cheerful and polite even when things got difficult (like moving a terribly heavy bureau TWICE, and loading concrete planters and a workbench into the last inches of space in the truck!) and they unloaded quickly when we had to leave our new home to sign settlement papers. MAKE SURE YOU TIP THEM FOR THEIR VERY HARD WORK! The only casualties of our move were a few small tears in our comforter and a Space Bag that ripped but I consider that par for the course and can't really blame anyone. (**Edited to add: My husband says one of the feet on his weight bench is missing. So CCM if you find it, let us know!**) Everything important arrived unscathed and intact. While I hope we don't have to move again for at least a decade, I would certainly recommend Charm City Movers to anyone. They're easy to communicate with, make deals with, and most importantly the crew does a great job. My only suggestion for improvement would be a little more due diligence in the inventory count and confirmation, but all in all it was a good experience. read more

Moving is not my idea of fun, but Charm City Movers made the process a breeze. I spoke with Chris to schedule the move. He called and we ran through the inventory of what we would be moving. His list was exhaustive, and there were definitely a few things I had forgotten about including until he asked! We wanted to move on a Sunday - that was no problem. Chris explained that they would call the day before the move to run through inventory again, in case we added or subtracted anything. They only charge for what they move, not the time, number of guys, etc. Our moving team was also outstanding. They arrived on time, on a rainy Sunday morning, and took great care to load and unload our things quickly, but carefully. We were only moving 20 minutes away (from Owings Mills to Towson) and were able to move smaller items ourselves. So we only needed help with big items. Having said that, an estimate from another highly recommended company for the EXACT same big items was almost DOUBLE what we ended up paying Charm City Movers . . . AND I loved how the rate was guaranteed (fixed) and I didn't need to stress about the crew taking more time by getting stuck in traffic or other unexpected factors that might drive up the price. Also, we ended up getting rid of a bookcase at the last minute and the amount for that item was simply deducted from the total. So you only pay for what you end up needing/using. In truth, we were probably nightmare clients because we needed an old, heavy armoire moved as well as a heavy wooden dresser . . . and it had to go up a flight of stairs (all figured into the price, but still). It was NOT an easy job, but the crew took care of it quickly and with good humor. We finished ahead of schedule, too--and the crew arrived EXACTLY on time, too! We couldn't have been happier with the job the guys did. They are amazing and I give them my highest recommendation. I can't imagine using another company, since we got an excellent, guaranteed price and terrific service. Finally, prior to the move, every time I called with yet another petty question, the various people who answered the phone always seemed GLAD to hear from me (!) and didn't mind chatting a bit, saying they know how stressful a move can be and seemed happy to have our business. From the initial call with Tammy, I instantly knew that I would book my move with charm city movers but I still priced other options and that was a total waste of my time.
