The great room/dining room was very roomy as it sat 20 seats at dining tables & almost 10 spots near the fireplace. Bunches of games were available for playing, coffee/tea/cocoa stations available all day & complementary cookies were put out before dinner. Breakfast was excellent... Including OJ and fruit and cream cheese parfait to start, egg bake squares with turkey sausage, crispy hashed potatoes, then fresh baked blueberry muffins to end! It was served family style so you shared w/ your table which was pre-portioned with enough to feed your number. Staff was too nice & very quick w/ refills. Bed was firm but pillows were too flat for me so I doubled up. The porch was wrap around w/ spectacular views of countryside! Worth the trip & would come again!

The house is a charm with beautiful flowers, sounds of chickens, a donkey roaming around and cows in a fenced area, overlooking on a long beautiful wood deck. Inside reminded me of the 80's country craft era. It definitely looks like Grandmas clean neat house. We stayed in Grandmas room and it was Grandmas bed. It squeaked like thie old metal springs did in the 70's, so using this bed for our 34th Wedding Anniversary end of night celebration , was not in the picture for us. The squeaks from the old mattress springs echoed through the house along with my giggle. So, don't book this room if you have in mind getting a little romantic. I woke up to someone singing in the kitchen, it was an Amish woman singing, cooking breakfast bare foot. I walked down the hallway with the smell of fresh bacon to the dining room. They prepared fresh fruit with mint from their garden, quiche with hollandaise sauce, fresh large slice bacon and for dessert homemade waffles, with real cream & cut up fresh peaches. It was delicious. There are no TV's here, however, they do have WiFi. Only suggestion I have is to steam clean the recliners and carpets in rooms. There is a pungent odor coming from the recliner I sat in. We definitely would return one day.

We enjoyed the fireplace (super easy to turn on and off with a light-switch) and couldn't believe how much heat it put out. The kitchen was stocked with basic cooking essentials and dishes for two. The only downside was the miscommunication with our checkout. We payed for a late checkout, but apparently the office didn't communicate that to housekeeping. The office left me a voicemail saying they didn't have record of the late checkout, I returned the call and confirmed that we did pay extra for that, and then shortly after housekeeping showed up and we had to also tell them that we had a late checkout. Kind of took us out of our getaway bubble, but overall a really nice vacation experience.

I say "mostly clean" because the shower curtain in the upstairs bath could have used a good scrubbing, or better yet, been replaced altogether. I'm not a fan of shower curtains in lodging type places as it is, but if they are going to use them, I would even replace them after every couple guests or so. They can be purchased very inexpensively. But I prefer a door on the tub or shower, anyway. The sauna also didn't get as hot as I thought it would, unless we were doing something wrong, which is absolutely possible. :) But still was nice to sit in the warmth. Aside from these minor inconveniences, we were very impressed, it's great for larger families or group getaways. The main tourist shops are just outside your door!

We ordered the cheese platter and chocolate dipped strawberries upon arrival and were very impressed by both. The cheese platter was filled to the brim with assorted cheeses and sliced meats with a sweet mustard. It came with a bottle of semi sweet wine. The strawberries were enormous and very tasty. We had breakfast delivered versus the grab and go and it was amazing. All in all it was a great experience and I highly recommend staying here.

We had sent in notes about our food allergies, but the host seemed oblivious to the information we took time to fill out with the online registration. - The room was simple and pleasant. Details were missing. There were no robes as repeatedly described. The "luxury" soap was a very small slice of most likely a larger bar. The remaining complementary bathroom products had absolutely no ingredients listed for someone to be forewarned of possible allergens. No clean towels delivered for the second day; we had to use the dirty towels from our previous day's use. The king-sized bed was leaning in towards the middle and tilted towards the headboard. We had to pull the covers to turn to sleeping with our heads at the foot of the bed. The box springs was badly stained with something brown. Not a pillow-top comfort sleep. To access the room, one must step up and over a large door transit. Definitely NOT for those with mobility challenges. - The parking area is loose gravel. Also a no for those with mobility challenges. - The water was highly sulfuric in smell. Before we were finished with our stay, my spouse was very ill from the water. Both days, the shower ejected black silt, or some such. The second day, our final day, my shower actually ran totally black. We had to use the remaining distilled water for my spouse's medical device to finish washing my hair. We checked out early because of this disgusting turn of events. - The breakfast was not "gourmet" in any way. Both mornings we ended up eating breakfast out. Cool Whip topping is not "gourmet" in any culinary description known, yet that was what was given - with frozen berries - as one of the courses. The meat was only 1.5 strips of turkey bacon - turkey bacon! - My spouse had to assist the host with television technical issues in another guest's room, taking about an hour, altogether, away from our time on our anniversary. - For a first bed and breakfast stay, this set the bar very low for future experiences. We were very disappointed. - One positive note: the location is quite gorgeous even if the facility itself is ordinary.
