Ms. Elin was my son's Pre-K teacher, and he absolutely adores her. Under her guidance, he learned all the alphabets, shapes, and colors, and can now count to 20 -- skills I know are often taught in TK. Beyond academics, Ms. Elin always incorporated fun, engaging activities that the kids loved. She also helped my son become more independent with eating, which was something he really needed encouragement in. In the afternoons, when Ms. Elin left, other wonderful teachers stepped in to provide care -- Ms. Silvia, Ms. Christine, Ms. Mary, Ms. Marie and Ms. Nour. My son knows and loves them all. When I once asked my son if there was any teacher he liked the least, his answer was, "no," which says it all!) Last but certainly not least, Ms. Virgine is an incredible director. My son was both a Covid baby (super shy) and a preemie, so I had extra concerns as a first-time mom. One of the main reasons I chose LPG was the smaller class sizes, so he wouldn't be overwhelmed. I was nervous at first, but my worries quickly faded as I watched him grow and thrive. By the time he graduated, he not only had friends in his own class but also knew the names of kids from other classes. I am genuinely grateful to everyone at LPG for giving my son such a memorable preschool experience. You truly can't put a price on that!

However Ms. Yolanda - whom my daughter affectionately called 'teacher' sometimes - and her staff, were very patient with my daughter. Despite my daughter's neurodivergent traits, her classmates would always greet her with joy, and to me, that's a sign of good students having good teachers who teach them how to be kind and understanding human beings. Communicating with Ms. Yolanda is also a breeze for all you worried parents out there. If you're looking for a God-centered school that prepares your kids for the next step, DCP is for you!

That's when I found Discovery Christian Preschool (DCP). They checked every single box at first glance. We've been part of the DCP family for about six months now, and unfortunately, we're having to leave only because of the distance. When I first signed my daughter up, I was freshly postpartum and didn't fully realize just how far the drive would be from our home in DTLA (yes, an hour each way!). But even so, we kept her enrolled because we loved the school so much. During her time here, my daughter enjoyed plenty of playtime with friends, great outdoor time, the most creative crafts, and a nurturing environment that made her excited to return every day. She would end the day saying, "I want to go back to school!" She absolutely thrived. This summer, DCP went above and beyond with an amazing summer program -- water days, snowcones, and a fun spirit week where she got to dress up in the best themed outfits. DCP has been such a God-given gift to our family. Miss Yolanda is a bright light -- the most caring director, who truly loves these children as if they were her own. Her passion for early education and her heart for kids are unmatched. And her teachers (shoutout to Miss Jean!) are so so attentive and amazing with all of the children. I'm heartbroken to leave due to the commute, but so grateful for these past six months. DCP is truly one-of-a-kind, and we will miss it deeply.

Susan is super attentive to all the kids and loves them as if they are her own. If your child has any changes in appetite, mood, or behavior she notices right away and will notify you. She has helped my son grow and learn so much. The children are learning something new daily, my son comes home sharing all his new words and what he learns about safety, weather, animals, and so much more! All of the kids get along so well because they are taught to be kind to eachother. Susan celebrates birthdays and holidays with the kids, she makes everything so special. Susan uses the Brightwheel app and updates it throughout the day with updates on meals, changings, and photos. It feels so good to drop my son off daily and see him so happy to go to school and not to have to worry while im at work all day because I know he's safe and in great hands. She has holiday events and it seems like she always has some new and engaging activity for the kids. From gardening to crafts, my toddler does it all! I also recently found out that after your toddler is more familiar with potty, she will help with potty training for a small and reasonable fee. As a first time parent, it gave me a lot of anxiety to potty training but she's been answering my questions and I've been hopeful. I have another baby on the way, so I'll definitely consider Elenas again when the time comes.
